As long as you have a factory OEM paint job then you can remove the film without any damage. When it comes to aftermarket paint it really depends on the quality of the paint job.

@sebhazerd91 there is small small holes in the vinyl. see at 2:30, he just put his hand on the bubble and it goes flat.

@Pilsnerk0rv if it was real carbon fibre, you could do this caus of the woven strands, but it dont look real at all.
