  • i have u question regrading portfolios for advertisement. how would one go about concept for advertisement products with out creating stuff that don't actually exist.Or if u art hire one place and try out a difference company lets say logo and graphix design,do have to cast aside the current portfolio ???start over the submit.idd like to know if u can give advertisment base concept tutorial or aleast talk about based on experience.

  • helpful tips- thanks alot and keep it up :)

  • About fan arts, some companies actually prefer applicants to draw their designs as fan art.

An example would be Blizzard entertainment. There's this guy who just kept posting fan arts and they were really good. Eventually he got discovered and accepted in the company. A big reason that he got in is not because he just drew them well, it's because he drew blizzard's designs while "fixing" them. So for people who like to draw fan arts, try to make them "better" than the company's work.

  • @deivcalviz There are some exceptions, of course, but the video is mainly talking about general scenarios involving most companies.

  • @deivcalviz Yes, but that guy didn't actually go around applying for jobs with fan-art in his portfolio. If he did, then that's probably why he was not hired until Blizzard discovered him.

I hope you can see my point.

  • @thedevo01 I don't personally know him and the details about his job hunts but I guess you're right too. Anyway, I was just saying that fan art's aren't all that bad. A few more names to add who did similar things and got tons of exposure and job oppurtunities is Dave Rapoza and Dan Luvisi. I'm pretty sure lots of other people got REAL jobs because of high quality fan art and that's what's important. Cheers! :)
