It sounds very much like a version from their original demo tape, which you could pick up from record fairs a few years ago. Or alternatively it is the re - recorded version which was used as a b-side for the 'Virginia Plain' single. Either way it's one of my favourite Roxy songs.
I don't know if this is any help to you, the first Roxy album demos. were on a bootleg called 'When We Were Young' which was put out by a Luxembourg based label called 'Oh Boy', who themselves were a part of 'Disc De Lux' and the collection it self had a catalogue number of 1-9033. So try googling 'Oh Boy' or 'Disk De Lux' and see what comes up. Or alternatively it may be on the 'Thrill Of It All' collection/box set. If I can be of any more assistance, you can find me here.
You're a sweetheart, thank you ;). I certainly have always wanted some live RM from between 72~`75, but all I have found is Viva!, which is beyond words, ~I want a live version of Mother Of Pearl from 74/`75. There's an amazing version of Mother Of Pearl on youtube that's is live in Germany from `74, ~it's so incredible & otherworldly, ~I bet it's on some bootleg album?
Thanks for your kind words, your comment about the possibility of another live collection got my brain working, there is a mini-album called 'Valentine' which is an official release out of Germany and has six Musik Laden performances withenhanced cd versions The version of 'Mother of Pearl' you enjoyed so much is from Musik Laden also but unfortuately not included on 'Valentine'. As far as I am aware 'Valentine' is still available (try e-bay).
this is still the future of music

Off the wall version of a great early RM song; love it! Eno is doing some cool stuff here.
