Everybody must become aware of what is happening in Darfur because as long as people don't know what is happening they won't do anything. Half the problem is that nobody is talking about it. I think its awful what is happening in Darfur, but I think that our country has its own problems and we need to stop meddling in everyone else's business. There are too many people on the planet right now. Wars and conflicts are the result of competition for resources and then dividing those competing into groups. At the time of Christ there were 80 Million people globally, in the mid 1700s 300 million people and now, 250 years later we have 6.5 Billion.

The fact is that for the amount of money and effort it would take to save one American life, you could probably save over a thousand people in some other part of the world. FACTS about Darfur that the media and hippies don't tell you about:
- Darfur rebels attacked Sudanese government bases in 2001 and 2002, even taking cities into their control
- Pres. Bashir warned the rebels to stop the attacks or action would be taken
- Pres. Bashir offered the Darfur rebels a peace treaty in 2004, which factions of the rebel groups refused to sign (thus the fighting continued)

- The Darfur rebels were winning the conflict, and the Janjaweed militia was brought in as a last resort
- In 2004, the Darfur rebels split and began fighting amongst themselves
- The Janjaweed were also getting beat by the rebels, so they resorted to attacking civilian villages
- The Janjaweed are not Arabs, but are just as black as the Darfur rebels (who are also Muslim)
This is a civil war, and you don't stop civil wars by printing up t-shirts and collecting donations.

I think its awful what is happening in Darfur, but I think that our country has its own problems and we need to stop meddling in everyone else's business. There are too many people on the planet right now. Wars and conflicts are the result of competition for resources and then dividing those competing into groups. At the time of Christ there were 80 Million people globally, in the mid 1700s 300 million people and now, 250 years later we have 6.5 Billion.

The number of deaths due to starvation in the US is very small by any remotely objective global standard. Famine in the US is not going to happen. The fact is that for the amount of money and effort it would take to save one American life, you could probably save over a thousand people in some other part of the world. As a Christian and a Republican, I think we should focus on the family HERE not there. We should worry about supporting the TROOPS not worrying about oil alternatives and cowardly hybrids. Leave oil issues to the oil companies.
