@aussienerds Ok, so let everybody criticize and offend everybody. This will increase gratuitous verbal violence. I said just shared my opinion, before a massive attack there should be a constructive discussion, just as in every democracy. That's all, nobody deserves to be insulted in this way. Everything should be paceful, cause we can't also transform the web into another war. There is too much violence in the real world that it is now compressed in the internet space too.
@RAFtheRAPPER93 Ok, I figured that I should read through the comments before mine. I agree with you when you essentially say that he is just spewing random bullshit. Same goes with this guy, he's not using his rights in an appropriate way.
@sopp44 yea that is also the truth infact everyone plays their part without sony nikon canon n other camera companies we would never have had such great cameras
On my channel is a pilot for a webseries I created shot soley on the T2i.. must say the shots are pretty good considering this camera is under $1000. Used construction lighting and a homemade dolly and shoulder rig w/ handle follow focus. Took 11 hours to shoot it all in one day using black cardboard for the windows for the night shots and styrofoam for the day shots for a blown out look. I know it's a bit underexposed but next episode will be far superior!! Share if you want to!
@WeThePeopleee okay thanks man cuz some people were saying that the d3100 is better than the 60d at walmart then at best buy they were saying the 60d was better than the d3100 so i didnt know which but thnx man ill be getting the 60d then
I don't agree with your opinion about the 60D in the end. Although I understand your point, it doesn't really works that way. I bought a 60D five months ago and since then two friends of mine bought on too, and they simply love it. I can't really see any disadvantage comparing to the 50D, even the body that I tought would feel cheap doesn't feel much different. The 60D is a great camera, most people who don't like doesn't have one and believe what people say on internet.
But they didn't mention that the 7D overheats due to its dual processors. Not too mention it eats battery faster than the 60D. I have both and I reserve my 60D for video and 7D for photography. The 60D video wise can do the same thing the 7D can with less stress to the camera. Downside to ALL these cameras? Crop sensors. It STILL drives me crazy. My 60D and 7D would be amazing if only they were full frame.
@TheBigAntShow I personally have a 7D and a 60D. I use the 7D for photography and the 60D for video. If you're asking "which has better quality" the 60D and the 7D have both the same sensor thus the same quality of image. One of the main reasons I go w/ a 60D for video is it doesn't eat up as much battery as my 7D. Also my 60D has manual control and this can really be helpful in post. The manual control was so successful they added that feature to the new 5D MKIII.
@TheBigAntShow sorry let me correct what I said, my 60D has manual AUDIO LEVELS control. Also another thing I like about the 60D is that you can load the MAGIC LANTERN software onto it and if you haven't heard of it look it up. It an AMAZING tool to have in your arsenal when working with DSLR. Of course the downside to the 60D is that it doesn't take as fast photos so if you're into sports this may hinder you, also the swivel screen means it's not as weather sealed as the 7D's magnesium body.
@RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS OK MY DIRECT QUESTION IS I HAVE CANON SX40 WITH THE DIGIC 5 AND I WANT BETTER OVERALL CAMERA WHICH IS BETTER THE 60D OR MY SX40 CAUSE I WANT THE BEST POSSIBLE OF BOTH IM TIRED OF CARRYING 2 CAMERA AN HD CAMCORDER AND THE SX40 IN MY BOOKBAG, I HEARD AND READ THE AUTOFOCUS WAS BAD ON THE 60D AND THE SOUND PICKUP IS DECENT SO WHAT AM I INFOR I DO ALOT OF VIDS "CHECK MY CHANNEL" I WANT TO DO VIDS OF THE EVENTS AND PLACES I GO AND WANT 1 LENSES THAT CAN DO IT ALL
@TheBigAntShow Unfortunately there is no real lens that can DO IT ALL. The real question is what kind of work do you want to do. For example if you're going to specialize in portraits stay in the close range lenses, if you want to do night time shooting you might want to look into lenses with a low f-stop. That answer is up to you. As for the SX40 it is an all around decent camera but you're not going to get anywhere close the abilities from that than you will with the 60D.
@TheBigAntShow Now if you choose to go with the 60D & you want a decent priced lens for VIDEO I'd definitely have to point you to the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 MANUAL Lens. It's 1/3 the price of the Canon equivalent but it's excellent for video. Now I hope you're familiar w/ APS-C Crop sensors on T2i's - 7D's but all those come with a crop sensor of 1.6, so a 35mm will in fact be 56mm in focal length. If you're not familiar with all that read up . Definitely keep watching Digitalrev vids for more info.
@RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS I HAVE NO CLUE BOUT LENS THE SX40 was the 1st camera i have bought in 3-4 years or more i been mostly a hd camcorder guy for the last 2 years my videos will be at mostly events like concerts or party from at night ot indoor "clubs lounges & etc" the events will be at the beach or parks SO WHAT THE BEST LENSE i need i want some for up-close at least 5-10 feet with loud speakers and a good zooming lense AND HOW GOOD IS THE KIT LENSE THAT COMES WITH IT?
I gotta agree with the buttons thing on the 60d, but its nothing you cant manage, while i had the 60d i wished it had my old 30D button setup wich is similar to the 7d, but still hold the flip screen, but then again the axis of the flip screen are right on the wya of the 30D/7D button set up ... But yo, over nikons button set up/controls/firmware i ll take a canon any day of the week .
the newer generally surpasses the older, thats how things develope. trust me . like the 7d and the 5d mk2 . the 7d is better in allmost all scores, but 5dmk2 is FULL FRAME. plus higher iso in low light. so the mk2 is newer yess,? also more pro than the 7d which i myself own
@Ceebear2001 i have the 7d and my friend has the 60d i feel the 7d has a tad bit better quality, video wise, also there is screen attachments you can buy if need be. Plus it shoots at 1920x1080 and has a 24 fps option which as a film major you should know 24fps is amazing if you want a short film. But it does cost a bit more i can't argue that and you need extra money for lenses both cameras are great in the end. (also a film major)
@Michaelvenn Both the t2i and 60D do that as well. All 3 cameras shoot 24p and 30p at 1080p and 60p at 720p. The 60D and 7D are basically tied in the video aspect, the 7D takes better pictures however. It's readily available on the internet that all 3 cameras have the same video stats so try looking it up before making false accusations.
@ATOMICxENTERTAINMENT 60D and 7D both have max shutter speeds of 1/8000, 2 times faster than the t2i (1/4000). But yeah other than that and minor iso differences they are the same. Agreed with the 5DII
@TheKhord I don't agree.. I mean, the 7D has dual DIGIC 4 processors one of them dedicated to focusing. 7D has 19 cross type focus points. 7D is a beast when it comes to focusing. The mag-alloy body. the burst rate too is 8fps. There are lot of other features too in 7D that make it the elder bro to 60D and if I had the money I would go for 7D over 60D. But I don't. So, I have 60D :)
@SapienHunter The series of comments I was replying to were discussing solely the video aspect. Yes the 7D focus system is wayyy superior to the 5D and 60D and the burst rate is great, but both those aspects apply to the photography side. I agree with everything you said but my comments were towards people discussing the video performance.
@TheBigAntShow Just yesterday I tested the 60D's video and photo abliity while on a trip to the zoo. I must say the focusing is pretty fast for the 18-135 kit lens I used. Usually the kit lens don't allow that luxury. BUt 18-135 is a good walk around lens if you don't enjoy chaning your lens frequently.
The image quality is same as 7D;GOOD, but 7D is faster 'coz of it's dual processors. The colour reproduction is very good, the images very sharp and I didn't have any issues like back focusing.
@SapienHunter SO ID HAVE A BETTER CAMERA UPGRADE AND BUYING THE 6d OVER MY SX40 IM MAINLY A VIDEO GUY BUT HAVING GOOD PICS HELPS ME GET MORE VIEWS AND ETC WHERE DO I GET THAT LENSE U MENTIONED AND IS THE KIT LENSE ANY GOOD AT ALL FOR VIDEO AND PICS??
@TheBigAntShow If you want to be taken seriously NEVER rely on your kit lens, why? Because it's a beginners lens. I would just get the 60D or wait for the 7D MKII, either way you're going to get great images and great video. As for that lens you were asking me about you can easily find it on ebay or check other photo site like Adorama or BandHPhoto
@RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS u been a great help well im close to biting da bullet and getting da 6D but i hear 650D T4i is coming should i wait since the sx40 digic 5 is good processor!!! and wats wrong with the kit lens??
@TheBigAntShow As for the videos, it is same as 7D, very clean! On top of that you have manual controls for Shutter, ISO, Aperture and Audio. And the built-in mic sensitivity is pretty decent. In my test it captured almost all the sounds pretty well. But if you are using it for serious video, I would say try the external mic.
@TheBigAntShow The videos quality is same on 600D/60D/7D ; so I would say if you are solely getting it for video, 600D seems a better bet. But if you want better control, more speed, faster processing, more in camera options, etc over your still photography AND video too, go for 60D. You won't repent it.
I would have taken the 60D any day over 600D.
The grip is good, the whole experience of using it is so much better than 600D.
Of course, 7D is in a different class. No use comparing it.
@TheKhord you people are all wrong! yes the 5dmark11 is the best quality because of the full frame sensor but the video quality is not the same on all of the other 3 camera its the same spec but the 7D has 2 Digic 4 CPU'S therefore has better noise reduction and can shoot more footage without overheating or stopping. and the 550D doesnt have manual control so how is that the same as the 7D and 60D? the only thing that makes them the same is the frame rates!
@thorna100 That's why I said earlier the 60D and 7D are closer to being the same. Yes of course the 7D tops the three of them but the iso difference is not that big. And the 550D does have manual control, its enabled in the setting menus. The difference in video between the 3 cameras is very minute in comparison to the difference with quality lenses. The original point I was countering was that someone said that 60fps only existed on the 7D which is not true.
Yeah, interesting review but I couldn't get past the fact that you speak like a chav. You seem like an intelligent guy you just don't sound like one. It's either not eiver, things not fings, with not wiv, weather not wevver, rather not rarver, three not free. Why would you want to sound thick? Sort yourself out pal and maybe you'll be discovered and get that presenting job you so clearly yearn for.
@Program2live That is a wrong advice I guess, the only Nikon in 60D range, though slightly expensive is the D7000 and it really isn't that sort of camera to make a brand switch if you already have invested in lenses.
Canon 60D and Nikon D7000 are pretty much same, one btter or worse than the other in varying cases.
@SapienHunter have you ever used a Nikon?...... why are you starting arguments with everyone are you 5 ? just shut the fuck up and come back when you can afford a DSLR .......
And I didn't start an argument with anyone. . . just plain simple responses. May be you are too little to understand the the difference between a statement and an argument. If you read my comment properly, I don't think why you should be offended at all?
@SapienHunter Ok congrats on owning the 60d .....i own the Nikon d3s and ill be upgrading later on this year... so you thinking i know less than you is pretty retarded.. i invest a lot of money and time into photography ...........most arguments are started by people making statements did you goto school? and i'm 28 btw...........
@msaha1992 dude! that is pretty cool i love how it still has a market you can get great pictures with film. The look of film is timeless and always will until digital is able to get the same look. :)
@SapienHunter all my money? i'm not rich i work hard the reason i stated i had a d3s is simply because you boasted about having a 60D tbh i have better things to do then to have a debate with you all week goodbye and good luck.
@Program2live Boasting??? That says a lot about your language comprehension. Read your comment to which I replied with "I own a 60D", and then read what I said in that comment.
Your program has lot of bugs. Kindly report to your developer immediately.
@SapienHunter The D5100 already knocks on the 60D's range while the D7000 to the 7D. The D5100 has the better sensor and better low light performance than the 60D. Search DxOMark Sensor ratings if you don't believe me.
If someone likes to hack ones camera, in that point the 60D is actually pretty reasonable candidate. There's Magic Lantern software for 550D and 60D, but it's not sure if it's ever gonna come out for 7D. Now with the Magic Lantern and it's enhanced video -and imaging features, the 60D with it's semi-fast burst shooting mode, more durable frame and the other load of options makes it really a contender for the Magic Lantern user.
@Destroysall Yes! I have the 60 and ive used the t2i allot as well! If you want the 60d for video go out and get a 50mm f1.4! I love my 60d and it works beautifully!

I don't understand the 60D bashing. It is rightly placed between 600d/550d and 7D
The main purpose of 60D is to give you the good choice.
60D is surely a much better and a far faster cam than 550D.
550D doesn't compare to 60D.
You cannot write off a camera for it's buttons only.
ANd for sure, the 60D has more to it than movies.
Of course the 7D is in a CLASS of it's own. It's more like "The King of Semi-pros" !!

RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS 4 weeks ago
@RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS how good is 60D at video honest opinion look at my vids would this camera help me
TheBigAntShow 22 hours ago
@TheBigAntShow I personally have a 7D and a 60D. I use the 7D for photography and the 60D for video. If you're asking "which has better quality" the 60D and the 7D have both the same sensor thus the same quality of image. One of the main reasons I go w/ a 60D for video is it doesn't eat up as much battery as my 7D. Also my 60D has manual control and this can really be helpful in post. The manual control was so successful they added that feature to the new 5D MKIII.
RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS 20 hours ago
@TheBigAntShow sorry let me correct what I said, my 60D has manual AUDIO LEVELS control. Also another thing I like about the 60D is that you can load the MAGIC LANTERN software onto it and if you haven't heard of it look it up. It an AMAZING tool to have in your arsenal when working with DSLR. Of course the downside to the 60D is that it doesn't take as fast photos so if you're into sports this may hinder you, also the swivel screen means it's not as weather sealed as the 7D's magnesium body.
RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS 20 hours ago
@RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS OK MY DIRECT QUESTION IS I HAVE CANON SX40 WITH THE DIGIC 5 AND I WANT BETTER OVERALL CAMERA WHICH IS BETTER THE 60D OR MY SX40 CAUSE I WANT THE BEST POSSIBLE OF BOTH IM TIRED OF CARRYING 2 CAMERA AN HD CAMCORDER AND THE SX40 IN MY BOOKBAG, I HEARD AND READ THE AUTOFOCUS WAS BAD ON THE 60D AND THE SOUND PICKUP IS DECENT SO WHAT AM I INFOR I DO ALOT OF VIDS "CHECK MY CHANNEL" I WANT TO DO VIDS OF THE EVENTS AND PLACES I GO AND WANT 1 LENSES THAT CAN DO IT ALL
TheBigAntShow 17 hours ago
@TheBigAntShow Unfortunately there is no real lens that can DO IT ALL. The real question is what kind of work do you want to do. For example if you're going to specialize in portraits stay in the close range lenses, if you want to do night time shooting you might want to look into lenses with a low f-stop. That answer is up to you. As for the SX40 it is an all around decent camera but you're not going to get anywhere close the abilities from that than you will with the 60D.
RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS 16 hours ago

Your forgetting that the 7D records in 30fps and 60fps, great for slow motion and much better for video then the other two.
Michaelvenn 1 month ago
@Michaelvenn Both the t2i and 60D do that as well. All 3 cameras shoot 24p and 30p at 1080p and 60p at 720p. The 60D and 7D are basically tied in the video aspect, the 7D takes better pictures however. It's readily available on the internet that all 3 cameras have the same video stats so try looking it up before making false accusations.
TheKhord 1 month ago
@TheKhord Why did you say only the 60D and 7D are tied? The video quality on all 3 cameras are exactly the same. The Canon 5d Mk II however...
ATOMICxENTERTAINMENT 1 month ago
@ATOMICxENTERTAINMENT 60D and 7D both have max shutter speeds of 1/8000, 2 times faster than the t2i (1/4000). But yeah other than that and minor iso differences they are the same. Agreed with the 5DII
TheKhord 1 month ago
@TheKhord I don't agree.. I mean, the 7D has dual DIGIC 4 processors one of them dedicated to focusing. 7D has 19 cross type focus points. 7D is a beast when it comes to focusing. The mag-alloy body. the burst rate too is 8fps. There are lot of other features too in 7D that make it the elder bro to 60D and if I had the money I would go for 7D over 60D. But I don't. So, I have 60D :)
SapienHunter 1 week ago
@SapienHunter The series of comments I was replying to were discussing solely the video aspect. Yes the 7D focus system is wayyy superior to the 5D and 60D and the burst rate is great, but both those aspects apply to the photography side. I agree with everything you said but my comments were towards people discussing the video performance.

@SapienHunter how is the 60D too u overall photos and vids cause im vblogger and wanna get the best quality i can i edit with iMovie
TheBigAntShow 23 hours ago
@TheBigAntShow Just yesterday I tested the 60D's video and photo abliity while on a trip to the zoo. I must say the focusing is pretty fast for the 18-135 kit lens I used. Usually the kit lens don't allow that luxury. BUt 18-135 is a good walk around lens if you don't enjoy chaning your lens frequently.
The image quality is same as 7D;GOOD, but 7D is faster 'coz of it's dual processors. The colour reproduction is very good, the images very sharp and I didn't have any issues like back focusing.
SapienHunter 7 hours ago
@SapienHunter SO ID HAVE A BETTER CAMERA UPGRADE AND BUYING THE 6d OVER MY SX40 IM MAINLY A VIDEO GUY BUT HAVING GOOD PICS HELPS ME GET MORE VIEWS AND ETC WHERE DO I GET THAT LENSE U MENTIONED AND IS THE KIT LENSE ANY GOOD AT ALL FOR VIDEO AND PICS??
TheBigAntShow 6 hours ago
@TheBigAntShow If you want to be taken seriously NEVER rely on your kit lens, why? Because it's a beginners lens. I would just get the 60D or wait for the 7D MKII, either way you're going to get great images and great video. As for that lens you were asking me about you can easily find it on ebay or check other photo site like Adorama or BandHPhoto
RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS 5 hours ago
@RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS u been a great help well im close to biting da bullet and getting da 6D but i hear 650D T4i is coming should i wait since the sx40 digic 5 is good processor!!! and wats wrong with the kit lens??
TheBigAntShow 3 hours ago
@SapienHunter dual processors also means it gets hotter and kills your battery way faster.
RMACMEDIAPRODUCTIONS 5 hours ago
@TheBigAntShow As for the videos, it is same as 7D, very clean! On top of that you have manual controls for Shutter, ISO, Aperture and Audio. And the built-in mic sensitivity is pretty decent. In my test it captured almost all the sounds pretty well. But if you are using it for serious video, I would say try the external mic.
SapienHunter 7 hours ago
@TheBigAntShow The videos quality is same on 600D/60D/7D ; so I would say if you are solely getting it for video, 600D seems a better bet. But if you want better control, more speed, faster processing, more in camera options, etc over your still photography AND video too, go for 60D. You won't repent it.
I would have taken the 60D any day over 600D.
The grip is good, the whole experience of using it is so much better than 600D.
Of course, 7D is in a different class. No use comparing it.
SapienHunter 7 hours ago
@TheKhord you people are all wrong! yes the 5dmark11 is the best quality because of the full frame sensor but the video quality is not the same on all of the other 3 camera its the same spec but the 7D has 2 Digic 4 CPU'S therefore has better noise reduction and can shoot more footage without overheating or stopping. and the 550D doesnt have manual control so how is that the same as the 7D and 60D? the only thing that makes them the same is the frame rates!
thorna100 1 month ago
@thorna100 That's why I said earlier the 60D and 7D are closer to being the same. Yes of course the 7D tops the three of them but the iso difference is not that big. And the 550D does have manual control, its enabled in the setting menus. The difference in video between the 3 cameras is very minute in comparison to the difference with quality lenses. The original point I was countering was that someone said that 60fps only existed on the 7D which is not true.

A better upgrade path would be to switch to 7D.

@SapienHunter The D5100 already knocks on the 60D's range while the D7000 to the 7D. The D5100 has the better sensor and better low light performance than the 60D. Search DxOMark Sensor ratings if you don't believe me.
MarksmanODST 1 week ago
@MarksmanODST Understand . . that could be because canon has a smaller sensor and higher pixels to handle.
But Nikon do have a tendency to overexpose outdoor shots, something I do most.
Anyways, there's no point in debating which one's better.
There are features missing on D5100 that still keep it at entry level. But it is a good cam, no doubt.
