  • Glove save!

  • wait if you slide but life ur pad they still score i know its easey but wrong

  • he says "k" too much.

  • yea u here its for long distance

  • you should NEVER lift up the leg your not pushing with.

  • how come this guy is great coach cus he is a guy and this other coach at the same school sucks just cus she is female?

  • Very good coach! its very important to give the kid some positive words. :D

  • yea good coach

  • good coach

  • Thats awesome, the only thing was is you didn't make the save. 0:39- 0:41

  • he sucks, check out my butterfly slide my video is caled ( how to be a hockey goalie #1 butterfly slide )

  • @hockeybrothersyetsko Dude, he's clearly LEARNING how to play goalie. That's obviously why he has a coach to train him. You damn trolls always have to put someone down and tell them how much they suck and how much better you are.

  • Hes clearly not staying in his butterfly when hes sliding...

  • @32BlueIce32 The speed crawl is used in a desperation situation, when you lift up your leading leg it creates more momentum on less drag on the ice to get across faster. If you watch the instructor the pads to go back down to the ice too close up the five hole. This technique should not be used to replace the standard butterfly crawl but they are not teaching it as a replacment for the butterfly crawl so it is a good technique to teach.

  • im jealous cause i don't have the leg strength to speed crawl :p i should tell on the instructor cause he's not wearing his vaughn pads :D

  • anyone know of any sites for goalie coaches in mind?

  • yea thats called the back edge push and if you cant do that by the time your a peewee then just give up hockey. yea you suck and the goalie coach is an idiot.

  • @Netminder00 I started when I was 13 and didn't learn this till second year of Bantam, I made it to Junior A.

  • 0:27 FAIL lmao

  • i love how everyone comments as if the kid is a pro and everyone else is Patrick Roy the second coming

  • Nice but he cheated on some of them

  • The kid is doing it better then the instructor...

  • how old is he now?

  • he needs both pads down...

  • lawl I remember doing this at gold in the net but I was the only one except for the coach's who could do it properly. Because now it looks like a failed crawl

  • Yeah naturally you do better glove side because you have less weight on that side, thats why so may goalies are glove dependent, which sucks for right handed shooter coming in on the right side (goalies right) because righties tend to shoot towards the left. Lefties on the right side should exploit the blocker espacially on newer goalies

  • i wish this guy was my goaile coach!

  • i wish my coach was like that haha mine is always like "that sucks!" do it agian lol but on the other hand i'm glad he's like that cuz it's made me ALOT better

  • you suck i could way better than u

  • Nice glowing youre good how long have you played?

  • during a speed crawl i never lift my legs. I also always go in the middle so i dont leave open net. but still this guy is really good, and the coach is really helpful.

  • nice glover towards the end :D

  • What my goalie coach taught me was that you dont bring both legs up doing the crawl... (My Opinion ->)because it barely does anything .. except put all your body weight on your legs and possibly damaging them. And it is also better to slide back to your post to cut off the angle

  • That guys a great coach, very helpful and reassuring to the goalie.

  • not only that, but when he does something really right he lets him know! You can tell the enthusiasm in his voice, and that will rub off on a player, it's very easy to get frustrated when learning new technique.

  • @trecoolsrebelrocker that guy is a virgin..

  • Something I should practice if I start playing again.

  • The Advanced Programs are designed for goaltenders playing at higher levels of competitive hockey. The program introduces goaltenders to new and modern techniques at a higher level, at a fast pace, and in more detail. this program is ideal for goal tenders who are playing at higher levels and are looking to continue improving their game.

Im guessing the advanced program is for

    AMATURES!

  • youer supposed to go back to your poost ...

  • just drop to the butterfly stance and then be ready for the high shot

  • lol ive never been a goalie in my life before about 2 weeks ago, my buddy used to be a goalie so i wore all his old stuff and we went to the out door rink, im decent for the bottom half of the net and gloving easy decent, but he'll always fake me out at the 5 hole and then go up top once i drop down, and if i dont drop he shoots for the 5 hole lol anyone know what to do?

  • swedens gold in the net is better

  • kay kay kay kay kay kay. this video makes me feel uncomfortable

  • boys are right , YOU NEVER LIFT YOUR LEG , an second you always slide into you post , no wonder gold in the net sucks so much

  • good job. at giving the advise, but before the test make sure they know how to use there edges before u just throw them in to midst of it all

  • his right slide is perfect, but he has gotta make sure his stick is down on the ice while sliding cuz the puck can go through his five hole in a blink.

  • @MrPillowpants92 his slide is not perfect.... he has 2 rotate his upper body then put his push leg up higher then have a strong push

  • @giantbmxride and his hands have guide him after he rotates

  • @MrPillowpants92 well the coach already said that so i didnt put that

  • @giantbmxride the kid is fucking 8. kid is thinking about string cheese and video games.

  • Nova scotia goaltender acadamy is better but ya know it is a good goalie and listen to chrisanjp you shouldnt lift your leg

  • You should NOT lift your leg up when you speed crawl, a bad bounce or deflection could end up in a goal.

    Very bad instruction.

  • poor drill timing... even poorer explanation of how to do a proper back-side recovery. I understand this is supposed to be a different save selection, the "speed crawl" or whatever you call it, but even that is fundamentally wrong. The idea that you need to reduce friction while sliding makes sense, but you expose the entire bottom part of the net (where your pad would normally be). Just b-fly slide and call it a day.

  • he is pretty good 4 a starter

  • say he his going to his left, he has to rotate his left leg so that it is under him, turn his head and find the puck, and get his right leg right under him so he doesnt burn out when he pushes like he did at .25

  • shouldnt the leg be under his centre of gravity so he can get across properly??

  • i think your close, you keep your torso to the side of your pushing leg.

    for ex.

if your pushing across with your left leg, your torso should be to the left side, never put your torso to the right when you push with your left, or youll dive/fall over

  • yo shut up this kid's like 8 give him a break

  • ummm this kid sucks really bad

  • at 1:36 that was a good save

  • this kinda stuff is encouraging to see

  • ya i really wanna try to learn this

  • k kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • he called him 2 different names... first Isaac, then Ian

  • Nice video, good job kid. : )

  • i dont think you should lift both your legs up for the obvois reason that there gunna score. best solution is to be strong to push youself over

  • It really depends on a few things. I.E. Body weight. If you do have a larger weight, it maybe be harder to rely on your pads to glide you across. When I did play hockey, I found that if I need to get over in a flash, no only would my body raise both my legs on it's own, but I felt that not having to deal with the resistance and friction of the sliding pad, helped me make some quicker ascents across the crease.

  • this is basic goalie stuff i learned all this butterfly slide and powerpush and mastering the butterfly in about 3 months and even more 1.12 ga in travell hockey ya beast

  • mine is 1.05 in my new league

  • stats don't counts man XD I bet you got like 2 shots in a game and your league is like Pee-wee B :O

  • actually pee wee aaa and we won the provincals and i was starting

    fucket

  • yeah uhh fuck you i bet you dont even play hockey and trust me i get like 40 50 shots a game bitch and also i agree with keatong101 so shut ur fucking mouth u son a bitch 25c hooker

  • grow up

  • I play hockey man XD I'm dominating 3 leagues at the time man XD and you're playing what pee-wee AAA too XD

  • this guy is retarded doesnt know a thing about goaltending

  • Fuck you he is god for a starter.

  • he sucks Xd He doesn't got lil' bit of stability XD

  • He's a fuckin' kid. And he's just learning.

  • He's a kid dude ... probably just learning I mean like in a few months he could be ripping it up

  • ive gone to goalie camps before and i was always told to go back to my post on things like this. its not failed me yet. thiskid is good for a beginner.

  • why do all these crappy goalie think we wanna watch them suck at net, for the record i have played for years and this is the first i have heard about any crawl, or butterfly slide, when i started u didnt no any fancy moves we had angles to cover, but most importantly we have reflexes, now its all about positional play

  • well it seems to be working, otherwise bettman wouldnt want to change the game so much

  • Slides come in handy when someone rushes lengthwise along the net. If your in the butterfly and the puck goes to the open side i'd always rather stack pads, easier and harder to mess up. But if you get someone with reflexes to play positions, and to cover angles, imagine the possibilities. The game has evolved, things change...There was a time when there wasn't even the butterfly at all.

  • shut up, you need the slide in todays game. thats why people have to learn it

  • wow at 1:37 it was only a "good" save because you got a moved over a little bit before you went your a cheater and a failure

  • wow dude, he's obviously a beginer so just chill out if he's just learning the crawl then you should probably not compare him to a nhl goalie.

  • yeah, seriously. You can sit and judge a new kid all you want but where does it leave you? Calling someone a failure for trying to learn something is immature, and pathetic.

  • they can try new shit all they want, but i dont wanna see it when im looking for good amature goalies

  • what do you mean "new shit"?

  • :26 , great work! haha not

  • EEks, speedcrawling ... pretty hard. Nice going (:

  • I play goalie and its really fun!

  • ok its more complex then just put your weight on you push off leg, its get you push off leg underneath you center of gravity, and you need to make sure that you use your entire edge of your blade not just the toe, using the toe might work sometimes but many times you dont get as powerful or as fast of a push, and the coach is doing fine

  • you actually get more power when you use your toe because you can use your leg muscles and calf muscles instead of just your legs. you get more control too because you can go to different angles with the same foot positioning which also helps keep your balance. toe is faster.

  • Well maybe it's just different for some people like some people are better off using their blades edge and others are better using their toe it all depends on the person and what they are comfortable with right ?

  • you are an idiot, where is your calf?

  • it is easy to push . just put all ur weight on ur push off leg and push

  • hey bud...when u push off put majority of ur weight on ur push off leg and keep ur skates forward so u get a better push.

  • the coaches are to nice...they need to be a little more harder. good job tho keep practicing.

  • Well sometimes it just takes some time to learn the technique. If you're pushing off and you aren't moving anywhere, you should try to dig in with just your toes to start because if you put all your weight on the front of your blade, you'll dig in much better. Good Luck. And the instructor is obviously Canadian, we say 'k' a lot up here.

  • i cant do this it dosnt work i try to push and nothing happens

  • Poor kid is being taught completely wrong.

  • this guy says "k" wayyyyyyy too much. k .. lol

  • but heres a tip

~try 2 work on ur balence bud it seems like ur falling forward alot.

  • man its scary theres goalie coaches teaching this ridicoulous shit...teaching these kids wrong things.. wow this goalie coach must of beeen the worst goalie ever

  • nice glove save at 1:32! ive doon that a couple of times

  • nice glove save and that guy always says "kay" lol

  • a future goalie pro? ^^ i wish i started with hockey as a kid.... now im to old hehe

  • Your nvr to old to learn (: but sometimes your to old to make the pros D:

  • nice glove save

  • Terrible speed crawl, he doesn't have a good balance so always falls face first towards the ice, this will bring in bad habbits that will be hard to break as he get older. Needs to work on his buttteryfly stance and his balance within his butteryfly stance, this will make doing this a lot easier to do.

  • hes just a kid... you idiot...

  • your a jerk, hes just a kid. I bet your just some fat montrealer who cant even play hockey. Stupid

  • you are AWESOME on your glove side keep it up!

  • u dont lift your lead pad off the ice, thats ridiculous.

  • its called a speed crawl...its not a regular crawl...you lift your pad off the ice to reduce fritction and therefore move faster across the crease, your supposed to drop the pad before you get to where you want to end up so you can make the save.

  • omfg can somebody please fire him he is the worst goalie coach ever

  • nice save on 1:36! lookin good!!

  • wow it sounds like that guy doesn't give a fuck! LoL

  • this is a terrible drill first in what game situation would you be facing the puck and be halfway across the crease?

  • ur clearly ignorant...there are a number of situations in whch the goalie is in the centre of his crease, having said that, he does cheat by facing the puck, because the shooter isnt doing his job properly. we don't put this on video in ontario beause usually its a technique that takes a long time to master.great effort bud, as you get stronger it'll get easier, for some reason grafs make it easier too

  • he's pretty good. speed-crawls are pretty hard to do

  • This is a very good drill that they are doing but gets you very tired and very quikly.

Isaac cheats on the shooter every once and a while witch in a game could be the end.

For being about 12 years old hes doing really good and hes probably not been playing that long.

Im 12 and Ive been playing goalie for 9 years.

Goalie295 has probably only been playing for like a year so you should just shut up

  • goalie295 like actuly give your head a shake your 12 and your already a fag

k i have seen a lot of this kids vids and and hes pritty good for being like 12

this is a sweet drill program thing that they got going on

  • ok guys stop sayin isac sux. hes probably new at this. and u have to work your way to the top. from crap to good. keep practacing bud. :)

  • everyone who is dissing him should shut up he's not saying he's awesome he's just showing everyone what he learned. Relax we know you're all GREAT but no one cares. Good job isaac

  • ok big deal....

  • Would you like a gold medal for your achievment?..*COUGH* jerk *COUGH*

  • he was cheating on the shooter so much .... he was alright tho i guess

  • how old is this kid?if hes 12 and down hes doin ok

  • how old is this kid?12 and down hes doin ok

  • isac SUXXXXs

  • k well this is one of your better videos.

i like that one sweet save... you know which one it was.

gold in the net is a great program i just wish they came to ottawa more often.

  • WILDFAN

  • 1st thing i noticed was the push leg is 50% extended. He needs to have it straight up and down to generate full power. The next thing was the coach said to follow the ark of the crease and not to push back towards the post. I disagree with that because now the goalie has to push that much harder to cover the angle. A slight spin 2 get square to the puck and then push. With proper technique the splits this kid is doing won't be necessary. How is he going to control rebounds or 2nd shots.

  • he needs to keep his blocker up

  • Wildfan, it's not when the pucks going at you, put to control rebounds on other side of crease.

  • haha..issac..he's a classic

  • dont ever do that reduce of friction thing theyl put it under the pad trust me i learned the hard way

  • One very crutial thing that everyone is missing is that this shouldn't require a splits save. As a younger goalie, this kid needs to bring his pushing leg further under his center of gravity in order to achieve a proper butterfly slide over the required distance.

  • dude split saves number 1, game savers, 2 are friggen sweet and 3 ther faster

  • Ouch. well where to start... start by getting shooters who know When to shoot. then before you push make sure your not lying on ur ass cuz your going to have a hard time getting across..as you can already see

  • this goalie is good enough for the leafs iam sure theyll give him a 5 yr no trade klause 9.43 mill

  • lol... they need him

  • hell ya!

  • haha

  • Your an idiot hockeygoaliepro

  • shut the hell up!! JK ;)

  • first thing... its called a backside edge... and you need shooters that know how to shoot. youre supposed to get the shooters to shoot after the goalie leaves...

  • wow this goalie and this camp sux, the goalies letting them in cuz hes leaning over, hes practically lying on the ice. if the pucks wernt so close and if u got a decent shooter hed score evertime. its not so much about whether hes going to his post or not, hes not staying up when hes moving across

  • spokane

  • i dont even use this and I play WHL

  • what team?

  • For what team?

  • i think that you guys are being way to hard on them one having the pucks close pushes the goalie to try harder, two its an advanced class, but thats why you wont be great, and third these are the only guys i see truly trying to show the technique not just advertising theyre school, congrats guys great video keep em commin you cant please them all!!

  • agreed pucks are too close... goalie is young and doesnt have that leg strength to push enough ....

  • Okay this hockey skewl sucks u have to go back to ur post thats why he cant stop the puck try ron veit

  • i think the pucks are a little to close for this drill...jsut me though
