And if you already are good at basketball, then you don't HAVE TO wear basketball shoes (unless you're actually playing basket ball). You can wear any kind of shoes you want to wear. People will still know you are good at basketball because you show them how good you are when you play.

I personally don't like people who try to dress eccentrically or like hipsters (or whatever popular style) and then try to pretend the image they project is a reflection of their personality. I kinda find that a little hypocrite you know. It's just so cliche. You don't have to wear specific clothes to show people what kind of person you are. Wearing cool clothes doesn't make you cool. Just like wearing basketball shoes doesn't make you good at basketball. :)

It think a lot of people try too hard to be unique with clothing, hair spray, piercings and make up. They just want to distance themselves from the others and like to pretend to be different or special. Ironically, in the end they all end up looking the same. But you don't need to prove your uniqueness physically. Authenticity comes from personality first, not from appearances.

I think part of realizing your own uniqueness is going through your rebellious teenage years trying to be unique. It's during that time people begin to realize/ formulate an identity they can call their own. (at least I did haha) I remember going through a phase where I thought I was unique for X reasons. Now that I've learned more about myself and have accepted who I am, I can say that I've always been unique.

defiantly agree with you. I'm so sick of hearing the people at my school go on about how unique they are but not fully understand how they are unique.
