Chi is a power, the divinity of the abdominal power. Apparently, you can take this power into any limb and it will be as strong as steel.

But you are only able to obtain this power, if you can concentrate properly and meditate in a fashion of which they only know of.

Lets say its like a hook, everything starts from the ground. The energy is building within your body to imply the amount of power to a certain point.

They key behind a hard punch, is within your ass muscle. The biggest muscle, when your during the motion of a punch, you put your self forward. During the motion and correct footwork your able to imply a extraordinary amount of force.

My wife, who did karate when younger, always wanted to see them and China. We booked a trip to China some years back, but she was ill and we lost our money. But then we were in Brittany, and they came to do a show at the nearest town and we got to meet them afterwards. Yes it is a commercial show, but more in goodwill and to raise money for their community than showing off or personal enrichment. They're friendly, modest people and some lessons can be drawn from the shows.

It is certainly important to eliminate your ego. But martial arts (or atleast kung fu) is about expressing oneself too, not just survival ;)

they are not monks. Maybe some of them are, but most of them are just preformers. Not that they do not practice kung fu, but I practice shaolin kung fu, and i dont call myself a monk

Yes I am. Buddhism and kung fu are to different things. Do you understand that there these are clearly two different things? They are not always practiced simultaneously, and THESE PREFORMERS may not even practice Buddhism. FYI, My teacher is sigoon Moses fore - he was a world champion in the 80's.

if you devote yourself to your training, or anything of the sort and wish to someday master it you are practicing gung fu, that devotion labels you a monk.

r u kiddn me livelife u practice kungfu doesnt mean ur somthn these r called dicsple they were training in china shaolin temple thy masters asked them to perform to differnt countries to promote shaolin their are different shaolin monks, the disple who are allowed to go and get married, the monks who stay in shaolin and dont go anywere else and protect the temple and the once who dont do kungfu they are bhotist so thy are shaolin monks

in my opinion the shoalin monks are amazing. their fight skills might be doubted by some but it is more an art form of fighting then actually effective.

this demonstration was pretty weak in my opinion, for example 2:44 it shows that there is no real kicking,the rest is amazing tho! especially iron skin :D

an art, definitely. As a fight style, even better. The fighting style of shaolin kung fu is known as sanda, or 'san shou'. Very similar to muai tai, except, there are throws as well. look it up.
