@nofxb182 It takes about 10 seconds for the sound to start after the initial excitation. It's full strength by around 18 seconds and rings even after I release the eBow at around 0:38.
It's relatively quiet on the video but fills the room (timbrally-loud, not volume-loud).
The original purpose of this video was to illustrate the use of the eBow for a harpist. The lowest 11 strings have a steel core and are steel wound and make the most incredible sound (a room-filling resonance)...although it does take a little time for the strings to get moving.
@mindbodylightsound10 It works fine enough here for demonstration. It works great on large strings, just takes more time to vibrate (for the magnet to move the mass of the heavier strings.
Higher strings also tend to be short and tighter and don't work as well in harmonic mode (fewer partials are excited).
Wow, amazing what you can do just by adding a little light to a stapler...

Hi
Could you explain the purpose of this?
(no criticism intended)
Wish you well

@themariorocknroll Simple: this was on a D string.

Responder a este vídeo... I reconize the sound whit my guitar , Im not a piano player

maybe the magnet of the ebow isn't strong enough to rattle the big stings of a piano?

you might have more success trying it on a higher string. i've never gotten my ebow to work on my bass guitar well.
