you didn't even teach it correctly. you taught the lead riff and the rhythm in two totally different keys, AND it's in drop D. (drop C works as well.)

The "top 2 strings" are actually the bottom string and they are 6 and 5 (not 1 and 2)

Third dot on the guitar is not 9, its 7th fret.

You can play it well, not not well enough to teach it. Work on it .
