People claim things are better in this country in regards to race. They aren't. They will never be. People are willing to just type inane comments online (and speak them) w/o trying to understand where a person is coming from. I am black. For a long time my people were considered by law to be 3/5 human. That doesn't go away overnight. My ancestors were beat down w/that notion physically, mentally, socially. And it, instead the knowledge of where they came from, was the legacy they passed on.
And I think something might be missing in regards to black people/slaves being 3/5 a person. Is it wrong if you conisider this. Normally anyone coming into the country had to go through something to get here correct. (could be wrong.) The slaves were brought in quicker so it was not realistic even if it was not realistic to let them have full voting counts. Same as if you are new to a community you don't or can be restricted based on age of living their. Not everyone was the slave owner.
It technically was fair even if it was wrong to bring them as slaves. Just like you cannot and should not let a senator be in governemtn who didn't live their long enough(think of the reason it's put even if it doesn't always work. Especialy if they should have to live their longer.) Same with local government. I'm familiar with this because where I live having stricter rules on how long you lived here to get in government. It's tricky--no one who isn't "of color" can ever defend that statement. It's akin to a woman saying to a man (unless he underwent sex change, perhaps), "u can't understand because ur not a woman." Reinforced is the idea that every person of color has been dealt a raw deal, as has every woman in this country. What can one say in critique without sounding like a butthole racist/sexist, respectively? It's playing a card nothing can trump. Racism surely exists, but it's hardly all white-on-color.

People claim things are better in this country in regards to race. They aren't. They will never be. For a long time my people were considered by law to be 3/5 human. That doesn't go away overnight. My ancestors were beat down w/that notion physically, mentally, socially. And it, instead the knowledge of where they came from, was the legacy they passed on.

And I think something might be missing in regards to black people/slaves being 3/5 a person. Is it wrong if you conisider this. Normally anyone coming into the country had to go through something to get here correct. (could be wrong.) The slaves were brought in quicker so it was not realistic even if it was not realistic to let them have full voting counts. Same as if you are new to a community you don't or can be restricted based on age of living their. Not everyone was the slave owner.

It technically was fair even if it was wrong to bring them as slaves. Just like you cannot and should not let a senator be in governemtn who didn't live their long enough(think of the reason it's put even if it doesn't always work. Especialy if they should have to live their longer.) Same with local government. I'm familiar with this because where I live having stricter rules on how long you lived here to get in government. Those may have been removed causing the issue to start.

People had to go through a process to enter the country etc. So if you are brought in faster it was not unreasonalbe in fact realistic and good for the community not to suffer for it. Any time you force fast change like that it creates issues in a community. It's harmful. I'm not saying this well but what I'm trying to get at is a very little though of issues today.
