Well this clearly is not to be tolerated. Well this clearly is not to be tolerated. Abuses of power do happen but if this is sanctioned by authority and the assault is not dealt with by a court - the victims compensated and thugs prosecuted then it leaves us in a difficult situation. The police are behaving like thugs and bullies and since force is the only response such people understand then its time to make a stand. We are seeing this more and more and it only persists because we let it continue.

Pepper spray is generally only used when protesters have locked their arms in order to block someone else's path, and then ignored requests to move, and resisted arrest.

almost two years ago I was attacked by a cop. The cop hit me on the knuckle with his night stick, breaking my hand. The man next to me was repeatedly hit on his side with a night stick. I has holding him up so the wouldn't fall to the ground and be completely at their mercy.

pt 1) I was beat up by a small town cop in AR on 9/11/11. After 10 days of torturous pain, bedridden and needing assistance bathing, dressing, eating, and using the toilet ( severe Fibromyalgia, etc.. and I am also on disability for several back/neck/nerve problems), I began looking for civil rights attorneys.
I have been calling attorneys all over the south, but haven't found any in surrounding states that practice Civil Rights law in AR. I don't trust anyone licensed by the Arkansas Bar....

The police ask them to move - they refused, the police attempt to physically move them - they resisted. Pepper spray is the least invasive method of dealing with it. They didn't taser them or beat them with clubs or water cannons. You have the right to protest as long as you don't break the law doing it - nonviolent or not.

@redlegagent We have the technology to create and distribute resources in more than a sufficient manner, what we lack as a group of beings is the genuine interest in a fellow beings welfare. Of course, when this is pointed out, it's always easier to dismiss it as a sure sign of envy or greed on the part of the one raising the issue than to actually admit the fact that when some people have everything, your chances to create something of your own are rather slim.Ask a third world factory worker.
