  • I don't care about all the negative criticism here here. I like her spunk.

  • im sorry ....but she sucks

  • Every once in a great while it would happen that ALL the contestants on the episode were gonged, and Chucky got to keep the money....................soooooooooooooo many great memories of this show!

  • 1:33 ....... ha!

  • HELICON!

  • Guess I'm not the original high-heeled wearing, dancing tuba (helicon/sousphone etc) player! Way to go Bobbie!

  • I was playing my Helicon tuba with the Los Trancos Woods Community Marching Band (ltwcmb . com) back in 1978 - an old guy came out of the audience and told me he used to play the Sousaphone way back when he was a kid, but he couldn't do it any more - bad false teeth!

  • down the tuba....

  • Nice, pledge...

  • Any time you have a desire to play any musical instrument well, it can be hard; I'm a tuba player & I use & play a Conn 20J which is one of the biggest horns of his kind. It has a big fat sound to it & I love using it. This lady did a very nice job.

Playing it while dancing is quite a cool thing indeed!! :-)

  • This was from the 1977 Hi-Lo score week.

  • This is actually aa instrument called the Helicon, the first marching version of the Tuba. You won't see this instruement much at all these days as the Sousaphone took its place.

  • Tuba has to be one of the hardest instruments to play.... i think we just saw evidence

  • more like the best instrument to play...

  • yeah I love my tuba!

  • No it's not one of the hardest instruments to play - but it's definitely the hardest to play dancing! Bless you Bobbie I sincerely hope I can still play my tuba at the age of 80 - if I am blessed with those many years and reasonable health :-) you are my heroine!

  • Thanks for putting this up....I LOVE The Gong Show...but missed this lady.

  • ?!?

  • Please, please post more!

  • Not only was she a finalist in TTD's 1979 over 80 tournament, but also she WON that tournament!
