A lot of people and owners of the ML63 don't understand that you can't brake torque the ML for more than a second. The ECU will cut timing and absolutely destroy the launch if you just hammer the gas and brake at the same time.
Maybe the SRT is faster from stand still but speed is not every thing, comparing the SRT to ML63 of course the ML63 is better, First it's a mercedes, so you should talk about the quality, specs, styling, luxury and also has a more powerfull engine and it can reach a top speed of 183 mph without the limitor, I know the jeep costs 50% less than the benz but C'mon face the fact

Just so everyone knows the MB is limited to 155mph electronically and the Jeep is drag limited to 171mph, which is actually redline in 5th gear as well, so the SRT8 would pass and win if given enough room. Not bad for a truck down nearly 100hp from the AMG...

It is true that Jeep reaches a maximum velocity at 171mph because of wind drag. I know the amg is limited to 155. I admit the benz probably couldn't do 190 but i have researched that amg engineers don't think that this car would have a problem reaching 180.

this video and comments are different from road tests, ML63 is clocked at 4.5s 0-60 by car and driver, while the srt is at 4.6. even the manufacture claims are 4.8 for the jeep and 4.8 for the amg.

The ML63 WEIGHS more but is still a FAST car, the Jeep just has great torque, weighs less and is quicker off the line ... the ML RAPES it at high speeds.
some mercedes do launch good but not alot of them. simple fact. dont get butt hurt. the ml in that video was power braking and still didnt launch good. the jeep has a really good launch. ml is super fast after 100 mph tho
Just so everyone knows this, MBs ECUs are programmed to cut engine power when powerbraking to save the transmission. It will only allow for about 1 second before it cuts ignition timing, this would explain the poor launch.

I own an Jeep SRT8 and my friend has an ML63 ... we've raced them ... the outcome is exactly the same ... The Jeep wins off the line to 85mph~ and then the ML63 has a better top-end.
just wondering was the guy who was using the ml 63 pre reving when he raced you using the CVT 7 speed or did he just slam on the accelerator? ask him to go in D rev just under the limiter then shift down to 1st n slam the pedal to hit the magnetic switch behind the accelerator
