While I (very) occasionally paddle tandem, all my videos are solo runs. I've paddled OC1 and C1 for over thirty years, and raced slalom for the last 25, so off-side stuff is second nature. Open offside strokes are an art, since they not only steer and power, they pull the bow and stern into the proper line.
By the way. In your favorites, there's the video of Doug Gordon's accident on the Tsang Po. He was a friend of mine back in the 80's, when we both trained on a local river.
K1? As a C1 paddler (World Master's champion in '98), I can say that, while open canoe slalom is less physically taxing (sometimes), it takes more paddling skill overall. And we C1'ers call paddling a kayak like riding a bike with training wheels. ;>)
THAT´S AN OARMAN !!!!great sound too, quite the rythm

Great bow paddling, what stamina and solid offside technique. Must be a frequent tandem team because very little spoken communication.
Great video to display tandem open canoeing.
