  • I know it just must be unbelievably annoying, but really, aside from the idiots that just say stupid stuff, can you really blame us? Our voices are freaking robotic and annoying. You guys speak so...nicely. Just sounds cool.

  • I'm half australian, half american, and when I go to Australia people always say "Are you a yank?" or "What did you say? Are you from america?" and they are always 'amazed' that I sound american.

When I go back to America (I always have a slight accent after visiting, I swear they're contagious!), people ask me if I'm Australian or part aussie. then they ask me to say "G'day mate"

It gets very frustrating to say the least.

  • hey! you're my best friend! thats crazy!

  • hahahahahaha " oh my god say something" hahahaha i love brits !!

  • Im british, i get asked these questions every day :P

  • lol i thought he gonna ask him if he knows One direction

  • I think it's worse that I actually do drink tea all the time.....

  • Someone asked me if I have tea with the Queen. I answered with "do you have McDonald's with the president?" Works every time.

  • "so do you like vote for a new queen still?"

  • "Oh my God do you know the Queen?"

    ^ And then I died

  • Gotta love us Americans :D We're such idiots.

  • I always wanted to piss off a Brit by pretending I don't know where or what England is.

  • @Refuze2B4gotten hahahaa i should do that

  • ''so, have you met the Queen'' .... I get that alot=D

  • so are you English and putting on an American accent or are you actually American? lol.

good vid btw, i'm English and i can totally relate. gotta love Americans <3

  • @rubz794 I'm half English, half American, and have lived in Texas for nearly 2 years. I've still got a mostly British accent though, so the American one in this was put on! :)

  • @topheradams8 lol, i thought i could hear a bit of an english accent when you were speaking haha.

  • @topheradams8 I really loved the "you sound like this when you talk" bit. A British guy imitating an American imitating a Brit. Hilarious.

  • So yeah, been in America for 8 months now. Been asked everything here!

  • all of this is so true.

  • This. Is. So. Damn. True! It's annoying getting so much attention involuntarily.

  • I went to England to visit my cousin who is British-Mexican. This was my whole vacation.

  • Wait... so you were doing an accent the whole time?

  • I have had literally all of those things said to me!

  • I used to live in Texas when I was younger.

"Oh my god, I love your accent!"

    All day, everyday.

Oh, and the "are you Australian?" when I have the most obvious English accent ever.

    This video was spot on!

  • "I just want to follow you around all day and listen to you talk." LMAO. I totally think that when I'm around people with British accents.

  • I never knew I could impress an American by saying "tomato"... I see large profits in my future :P

  • I've literally been asked the question "Are you English or British" My head still hurts from the amount of times I smacked my head on the table!

  • The story of my 4 year life living in the USA LOL

  • There are 4 country's in Britain.. England is just one of them..this annoys me.

  • @MrAbbyFitzpatrick Actually there are 3 in Great Britain (which is not as it is commonly believed to be a boastful name, but actually the Roman name for the island on which those three countries sit: "Brittania Superior", literally "Big/Great Britain"): England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland is in Ireland. Hence why your passport (if you are from the UK) says "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

  • oh gosh i went through this in summer xD

  • this is brilliant!

  • Story of my life.

  • Hahaha, well not all Americans sound gay. Still funny

  • "i loove your accent" thats me.

  • Genuinely got asked if i was related to the Royal family once :l

and why do they always think we're from London?

  • I feel so bad for you. But lol. "So are you British or English?" Although I've done the whole "I could just listen to you talk all day" thing before. Accents are just so cute. (Not just British ones, I just love accents in general)

  • I am soooooo guilty.

  • im an american. and im just gonna let you all know that i am totally guilty of at least 5 of these. not the stupid air head ones, but i really do like to listen to people with accents speak. haha

  • When people ask where I'm from and I say Manchester, they always ask if that's near London. When I say it's about 200 miles away, many of them have replied "Oh, that's not that far then" O______O

  • an american asked me if scotland was in london.

  • @TheDwoods14 really?!?!? no it's not :L

  • Australian have by far a more annoying accent. I don't see how any American can confuse an English and Australian accent

  • guilty haha. then again ive heard british try to do our accent

  • hahahhahahahahahaha "i could listen to you talk all day" ... now im embarrassed! I always say that!!! :D

  • tomato tomato! lollll

  • you forgot " is Harry potter your God?"

  • Is that near London? hahaha

  • yeah im guilty of a few.....sorry.

  • I get this every time i go on holiday there! Haha too funny

  • I remember one time I spoke with an American and he realised I was English. The first thing he asked me was, "OMG do you know the Yogscast?!"

  • How about a video of stupid shit the English say to Americans? After the requisite "you call it this and I call it that", when I say I am from Rochester, New York, I get "You're from New York? Do you carry a gun? Have you ever been mugged?" "We fly into JFK, can you fetch us at the airport?' (No, it takes me 8 hrs to get there.) & I have lost count of how many Brits felt it was their civic duty to EXPLAIN RHYMING SLANG TO ME, though I didn't ask them to. Yes I UNDERSTAND. I just DON'T CARE.

  • Way to leave us American viewers hanging. What are the answers to the questions in the video?

  • You're... Cute!

  • Tell someone with a British accent to say burrito or rubber.

  • @ultimatenick37 buh-ree-toe and rub-ah

    how I say it anway

  • So true x

  • The best thing is when someone asks if you know the Queen and you say yes, yes I do, my dad is friends with Prince William. (Not true but some people have believed me!)

  • just got back from the US two days ago and everything you've done is so on point!!

  • I got "Say water." & "You sound like Harry Potter!" all the livelong day!

  • @l0VECHilD88 funny because the guy who plays Harry Potter is American, isn't he?

  • @regardez403 noooo, he's a very well spoken brit

  • Check out my channel for what Brits say to Americans

  • yep the queen and i are bffl

  • TOMATO TOMATOO HAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA! it actually made me laugh!

  • OH MY GOD...DO YOU KNOW THE QUEEN? hahahaha

  • this guy sounds british with a bad american accent

  • Hahahaha, I've totally said these things to British people.

  • Everything said in this video has been said to me in the past

  • My favorite that i've been asked is:

"OH MY GOD! Are you from Britland?"

  • Comment removed

  • i moved to florida a year ago, the amount of times i have been asked if i'm from london is unreal.

  • @razorsharpdashboard an American once said he'd been to Birmingham Scotland and it was one of their cities.

  • That looks to me like a right hand drive car. I smell something fishy here.

  • @RS2Matrix07 Hahaha, my friend pointed that out to me too! It was my camera flipping the picture... I swear!! :)

  • on a serious note, why do americans bum off the english accent and the royal family so much?

  • All the time

  • I'm English and nearly always eat crumpets :P

  • I get this all the time:P

  • there is no British accent! Britain is made up of different parts, Scotland, england, Wales etc. There are different accents within each.

  • I'm not even american, but this is totally what I say..

  • I went to Canada a while ago, and people were so like this!

  • This is so true. I was in Seattle last year and a homeless man was talking to me, when he found out I'm British he asked me how the Queen was...

  • "Do you know the Queen?" Do you know the President? :P

  • 0:51 :PP

  • :D :D "You sound like this when you talk"... Hilarious, tho I'm neither English nor American.. but I must say I could listen to the British accent all day, too :D

  • I moved to Texas 6 months ago. This is my life.

  • @liickyourelbows Hahaha, I moved here nearly 2 years ago. This is still my life...

  • @topheradams8 I moved to England 9 years ago... this is my life but the other way around.

    "You American!??!?"

  • @liickyourelbows it this jun form kerr heheheh

  • oh my goodness, the last time my cousins ever saw me was when i was 3 months old, then they moved to america, so check it im 16 and i meet them for the first time and what did they say? !Oh my gawd, you accent!!...... do you drink tea?"

  • looool

  • I love crumpets

  • "TOMAHTO. TOMAHTO."

Pfffffhahaha I love the way you said that.

  • You do know that Scotland is part of Britain aswell. You seem to only be taking English people into account.

  • wow, this was bloody amazing.

"So like, you have meat in desert?"

    "have you ever tried coffee?"

"why the hell is it Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone?"

  • Ahaaa! This was a coincidence... I was randomly clicking through videos and find your face!!! Well done Chris!

  • You didn't make any Harry Potter references?! I ALWAYS get asked if my school's like Hogwarts...

  • "So are Ireland and Scotland like states or something?"

"There's a British version of The Office?!"

"Hey, can I look at your teeth for a second?"

  • A few years ago I travelled across Italy, and supprisingly there was allot of Americans there, mostly In Rome and Pisa. These two old American ladies asked if we were Australian. XD

So far, the Americans I've met are so lovely and very friendly. I'm going to America this summer, really can't wait!! I hope I get to meet and make freinds with some! :D

  • You forgot "Say more words! :D"

  • Love it. You get the Americans mixing up Britain and England right. Although to be fair the English mix it up as well.

  • LOL the queen one is so true.

  • LOL can't wait to go to America and hear all of these things, WHY do you think our accents are so funny? If anything, I think we have no accent in a way....

  • Speaking as an Brit, I can honestly say I don't understand the American obsession with our accent. Your impressions only (vaguely) represent one accent. People from the North, for example, do not sound like that. At all. Funny video, though :D

  • THIS. I moved to US when I was a teen, and most of these things were said at me incessantly until I figured out how to do an american accent. oh this vid brings back memories

  • naw you drive on the wrong side of the road dafty !

  • im moving to america with a friend for college, haha, i already talk to american friends online and their friends i get the "im going to look up british things for you too say"

  • ohmygosh, this would be perfect if it included 'say vitamin water'

  • This is actually hilarious because it's so true. Hey, you can follow me around and listen to me talk if you want, lol! :P

    TOM-ART-OH

  • I would probably ask all these questions if I ever met a British person.

  • true

  • True haha

  • Your a cunt you mug! there that good enough? you yankee twat! Love England x

  • Title should be: Shit Americans Say To English People. Not Brits because England isn't the only country in Britain. DUMB YANKS!

  • @IKevinTubeYou No need to get offended -.- my goodness (he even said a line "are you English or British?"... so your comment kind of faceplants by itself anyway)

  • @theguymjp Am not that bothered cause Scotland will soon be independent but it still doesn't take the fact away that most yanks know fuck all.

  • @IKevinTubeYou Well, at least they're more polite than you. You're doing some greeeaaat advertising for Scotland -.- weeeelll doooonee (not)

  • @theguymjp Oh yeah, everyone that's coming to Scotland are going to look at my comment and change their mind. How does fuck off ya cunt sound?

  • @IKevinTubeYou How does that sound to me? Well, it sounds like an incredibly rude and arrogant Scotsman. Good bye.

  • "Intelligentence"? Is that English?

  • average low intelligentence American, I saw it before i watched it, THEY don't think that they sound stupid? They don't realise THEY drive on the wrong side of the road?

  • I want to go to America even more if people will love my voice so much! Boooya!

  • This is so true! My parents are English but we live in the US and they get "where are you visiting from?" all the time. Since I don't have an English accent, people have actually said to me "why don't you have an English accent?" Maybe because I was born in Canada!

  • i dont think ive ever said any that to a brit..

  • the lyyyyfe of the wyyyyyfe is ended byyyy the kyyyyfe!

  • Haha, I'm English and this is so true! We had American exchanges and it was like this for a week xD say this..say this.. I like you accent. K I get it;D

  • I'm half English too. Thank god I'm not ignorant enough to have said any of this. Although I do ask English people "What part of England are you from" (Unless they have a very obvious dialect), just because I'm curious. I don't follow up with "Is it near London?" though, haha.

  • Brits are cool but the little kids on Xbox and ps3 annoy the shit outta me

  • I'm half British and live in the US and I still get all of that! And also, "WAIT. If you're english, why don't you have an accent." bitch, I live in the US. I catch on! Lol

  • yup....had all those said to me in the States, apart from "Do you know the Queen?". Been asked if I know various other celebs though.

  • tick all the above

  • Dude you are my hero! I am a brit studying in the US and ALL of those things have been said to me!

  • my ex was british and my boss is now british, i find them to be really nice people and i love the accent

  • but we do drink tea all the time!!

I loved the 'you talk like this' bit. haha x

  • LOL when I was in Ireland a few years ago people kept making me talk when I said I was from Maine, apparently we sound funny.

  • Mate this is bang on. Do more videos!
