So have you since got the 12-60mm SWD? I just recently sought out your video looking to understand my camera, WHICH I LOVE, a little better. I have the 12-60mm and use it for the majority of my shooting, however before that I splurged and got the 70-200mm SWD, which I absolutely love...I have the 2X extender, and i was debating getting the 300mm, do you still think I should? Any other comments?
Much better video, shame you've only got the 70-300mm would have been great if you had the 12-60mm or the 14-54mm MkII to really test out low light focusing.
Also how do you find the DR, because as we know it can be somewhat lacking compared to APS-C bodies.
Also ISO from ISO800 upwards as there still isn't any indepth reviews yet.
Hopefully I should have my E-30 2 weeks from today that if they out in the UK by then.
I wish I had the 12-60mm myself. I had no need for a SWD lens before I bought this camera but now I have to wait a little while before I buy a new lens. Oh well, maybe you can tell me how fast it is if you get the 12-60mm before me. As far as the DR is concerned, I really don't have enough room in the response to give you a real good answer to that but I do now that all digital cameras come short to film in this area so there is some software out there to make up for the their shortfall.
I'll give you a link to a page that gives a tutorial and links to some good software out there. I've personally never heard that the APS-C sensors were superior to the four thirds sensor in regards to the DR. I've heard just as many Nikon and Canon photographers make the same complaint about their digital cameras. The ISO on the E-30 is superior to the 400 and 500 series cameras. Still, I do think it isn't as good as the Nikon sensor though sadly. You really won't be disappointed by this camera!
I'm sorry but I can't put a link in the comment section it appears. Please click the more info button on the right to see the rest of my comments and the link.
I just went to the Olympus showroom in Tokyo today and got some great information! I haven't finished the editing yet but I can tell you now that I was wrong about the new 14-54mm lens. It's really good! Plus, I got some great info regarding the DR on both the E-3 and E-30 cameras! So please check my page from time to time for the new video that I will put up shortly. Thank you.
Thank you again my friend! You are very kind. I do think this was a better video than the last. It helped having my wife work the video camera while I showed the E30.
i don't like switch lcd...it's not more profesional

Great! Thanks for the info! I'll look at my manual again to see if I missed that shortcut. If not I'll go back to Olympus and ask about that.
