  • Love that stove i wonder if they had convection ovens back then!

  • Scary. I'm a baby boomer and I remember watching these cartoons in the 1960s. I would never watch them again. ;)

  • I like happy endings :)

  • I love her laugh

  • that ruled!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Little Audrey sounds like Olive Oyl and the Devil Cake sounds like Bluto

  • It's a gay holiday? ha ha

  • This is actually how alot of women learned how to cook under budget during the great depression

  • Little Audrey sounds alot like Olive Oyl.

  • Love this..

  • This is what occurs during a good candyflipping (MDMA + LSD) experience

  • The cartoon is pretty clean, but they'd have to change the title if they wanted to play it today. And the Religious Right might object to the Devil's Food Cake. I love how the priest is human. Do they worship the same Jesus as humans, or is there a Cake Jesus?

  • So many memories I haven't seen this episode but the ones I have seen are rain maker and seapreme court.

  • who knew making cake was so hard

  • Funny. White COP CAKES (L.A. Police) beat up the evil Devils Food Cake (Rodney King).

  • Little Audrey > Little Lulu... just joking my plus/equal key is missing.

  • 3:39

Best Gay Pride parade I've seen!

  • i saw this when i was little....whenever i overeat on candy, i think of this cartoon. traumatized for life.

  • @vishos12 Neat. I've never seen this one. I haven't seen many Audrey cartoons (and have few issues of her comic book) yet I regard her as so sweet.

  • @UglySean i had this VHS with a mix of cartoons. i would watch it on repeat

  • @vishos12 --- I had the exact same vhs tape and would watch it on repeat <3

  • @xerinxskankfacex childhood memories :)

  • you know, that's about how tired I was when I made cookies this Christmas.

  • People don't make cartoons like this anymore.

I wish cartoons were still animated this way.

  • I got this and the U.M.&M. Distribution print on the 180 Classic Cartoons DVD.

  • cutest thing ever

  • A-hahahaha. Now I'll eat you and you family.

  • @DocSane hahahah you u so funny

  • very nice

  • she didn't even use oven mitts!

  • That Devils Cake sure got..

    (sunglasses)

    whipped

    YEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • The devil doesn't think much of interracial marriage.

  • NOW BEAT IT!

  • @rhinomantis88 :( *slowly walks off*

    xD

  • @50chickens50 oh, not YOU, the batter :D

  • I like how Audrey blatantly just invites herself to their wedding. Lol!

  • @MrFantabulousMKL Well, she did bake them. That makes her a relative of sorts. A progenitor, anyway. Were all those singing pastries friends and family engaging in a spontaneous outburst of celebration or were they paid entertainers who were included as part of an elaborately-planned catered affair?

  • Some boob showed these on Boomerang several years ago... WITHOUT the songs. Yep, they cut the wonderful tunes out of these classics. Anathema! I'd love to get all of these on DVD. The entirety of the U M & M/ Harveytoons classics are the cartoons I loved the most in my childhood. Bugs Bunny, step aside.... Old Mighty Mouse cartoons were another set of gems. God, what happenned to cuildhood imagination and fun in cartoons?

  • Suddenly a Great disaster happened, Audrey's Morbidly Obese Cousin discovered the portal to Cakeland!

    No one survived...

  • @MercuryHatred Ethnic cleansing in Cakeland. And little resistance would have been encountered. Get a load of how all those pastries in the church fainted while Angelcake was being kidnapped. What fortitude!

  • If I went to cakeland I'd eat them all!

  • @todalyweirdgirl I wonder if Little Audrey was able to eat the pastries that came out of the oven after she woke up from her dream. Her laughter at the end of the cartoon leaves that issue unresolved.

  • Fantastic memories! Love Barbara

  • hmmm..

  • Gotta love how she doesn't use an oven mitt.

  • disney did something simuler to this, about 2 cake type people getting married. but i just cant remember what the cartoon was called.

  • "Skill with a skillet is how you fill it" - my favorite line.

  • i used to watch this on vhs when i was little. this brings back memories. so sweet i miss these cartoons.

  • is this on dvd?

  • Bellos recuerdos de mi niñez con estos cartoon de Little Audrey... gracias por subirlos a Youtube.

  • Wow,that voice in the radio is pretty awkward.

  • @TheEloeo

supposed to be a send up of a infamous radio voice from the jack benny days ect,...

  • Isn't this cartoon the first time Audrey did her trademark laugh?

  • radio voice:"are we ready cookies?!?!"

  • VERY RARE original theatrical print- in the "U.M.&M. TV" version, Steve Muffatti's name was omiited as the "other" animator (and he drew the monthly Little Audrey comic book stories for St. John at the time). Mae Questel and Jackson Beck provide most of the voices. The same chorus who sang in the "Screen Song" series is heard here...

  • Looks like Casper the Friendly Ghost with a bad sunburn.

  • Director: Bill Tytla

Producers: Seymour Kneitel and Isadore Sparber

    Associate Producer: Sam Buchwald

Animators: George Germanetti and Steve Muffatti

Writers: Bill Turner and Larry Riley

    Scenic Designer: Robert Little

    Music Composer: Winston Sharples

  • AAAAHHHHHH! THIS IS THE ONE I REMEMBER!

I had it on a VHS collection long ago before it went bad...T.T Does anyone know if this episode's on a DVD?

  • I found it last week in the $5 bin at Walmart in a 4 disc set called 200 classic cartoons

  • thats where i got mine

  • @Butterbarre

    Really? That's great! Thanks a bunch! =)

  • You can get dvds with all the cartoon classics on them, it is like a compilation of all the really good ones. I believe this episode is on the one my brother has...

  • @xX69JeNn69Xx

    Awesome! Thanks so much!

  • Nice to see a decent print with original titles instead of those horrid UM&M TV titles.

  • this was my faaavorite (:

  • the short has to end with a dorky joke with little audrey laughing of course

  • i loved this show when i was little... i always thought this episode was cute

  • Before this cartoon, I hadn't ever heard of a CAKE of yeast--I had only heard of its coming in jars and in small envelopes. What a wonderful world it was in the sweet, innocent 1950s.

  • I love how the ingredients of the gingerbread recipe become increasingly and hilariously absurd (examples: mustard, cider, malt, pepper, and cake.)

  • hey not so much!!!

    awesome vid

    i just <3 it

  • She was Aunt Bluebell in those old Scott Towel commercials.

  • Drugs = AWESOME!

  • OMG i've been looking everywhere for this :D thanks for uploading

  • lol!! They had a smurfs episode just like this! "TheGingerBread Smurfs"

  • "fromthesidelines"

I used to have the VHS tape of Little Audrey including the cartoon "Tarts & Flowers" where it does have the original theatrical opening and closing Paramount logo. My DVD with the same cartoon does have the UM&M opening and closing titles. This was one of the last cartoons under UM&M from 1950.

  • Harvey Films acquired the TV rights to the post-50 Paramount cartoons including this along with Casper, Herman, Katnip, Baby Huey and Buzzy. Harvey Films was a TV division of Harvey Comics. All of the post-50 cartoons has the Harvey Films copyright plastered over the Paramount copyright appeared on many cartoons. I'm not quite sure if "Tarts & Flowers" might have a Harvey Films copyright on there which is in-between those.

  • Yes, because I surely have not seen this one, because ive seen ALL the Little Audreys Harvey ones 100 times.

  • I have DEFINITELY been wanting to see this public domain cartoon with its original Paramount titles for some time! Thank you so much for uploading this, DJLarryT!
