shame this hasn't gotten as many views as your first lesson, its another very insightful video. it makes great use of rudiments, which pushes students to practice them.
they definitely do pay off, i pay alot of attention to flams, drags, grace notes etc. but i've never seen an example of applying them around the kit as good as this.
thank you for the video, what lessons are you planning next? will you be doing anything on brushes?
Great lesson. Explained clearly and performed at a speed that can be followed by large range of ability levels. Please keep them coming. How do you have your toms tuned in relation to top & bottom head?
hey, good explanation and cool application of the rough as you call it. I love orchestrations of patterns between hands (snare and toms) and the right foot. You have a cool drumsound as well. But the smallest and the biggest of your toms are not as loud as the others I find. Keep on the good work
Completely correct about the volume of the toms. When I am doing a lesson vid, I concern myself with conveying all the info I like to get across and I probably don't pay as much attention to the mix as I should . Next time I will make it a point to give the mix its due attention!!
I love watching your lessons. Unlike a lot of lesson videos, your drums actually sound good, so it's a pleasure to sit through the whole thing, even if it's 15 minutes long.
Love that you said "thing-a-ma-jigger"...classic!!!

I am using a small piece of "Moon Gel" at about the 10 o'clock position on the snare.
