  • @fady1908 Yes it is tonic water is just carbonated water, its what they ues to make coke! And food color never hurt anyone.

  • @miabrowning09 i thought food coloring will make the brains lost memory faster

  • @miabrowning09 Tonic water contains chinine. It is the bitter part of a gin&tonic drink. It has nothing to do with CO2.

  • @emilen2 chinine is also used as medication to prevent malaria :) hence the information on the bottle about chinine containment

  • @miabrowning09 Tonic water is not what they use to make coke...thats carbonated water also known as club soda

  • @fady1908

Tonic water is carbonated water, it's used to help stumach aches and used to make soda. Food coloring is non-toxic and can be found in almost any house hold in America. Easy stuff to make.

  • @fady1908 It is completely safe actually. Tonic water and food coloring are both non-toxic and not harmful in any way.

  • @swich160 actually food colouring CAN cause cancer but its verrry unlikely

  • @airsoftsoldr Thank you helpy helperton. Also...you know airsoft is for kids right?

  • @swich160 lol airsoft isnt for just kids, lots of grown ups play, and im 14 anyways so i am still a kid :P

  • Isn't the glow from the UV light? Afaik, chinin glows under UV light.

  • @SniffSnaff99 ha ha! if you pee in the... you know.. the private...its glooooooooowing... oohh spoky...

  • Don't you read the info?

Of course its UV light. never been a secret.

its the nature of the molecule, quinine, present in small amount in tonic water, that absorbs UV light and re emit another wavelenght. no chemistry, no reaction, don't even have to open the bottle.

  • no driink it lol

  • is it drinkable?

  • omg thatd be sick to drink

  • nuka cola quantum from fallout 3:P

  • lol looks like nukacola quantum

  • @DedmonStudios its the black light that maxes it glow....

  • @DedmonStudios

all the colour react at black light (UV rays), in this drinks food color make some strange effect, but the trick is into the neon behind the bottle :)

  • tonic water is carbonated water, in other words soda water

  • @maplepwnage1 Wrong.

    Does not work with soda.

Tonic water has Quinine in it, the key molecule.

  • YOU TIGHT

  • what is tonic :(

  • wats tonic water

  • dont hate me. but what is tonic water? ive never heard of it

  • That would be amazing to drink.

    waitaminute it is edible,isn't it?

  • food coloring = edible. Yeah... you can drink it.

  • does it make your tongue glow if u point a blacklight inside it?

  • Technically, Let Me Know How It Works Out For You. lol

  • @lordofgangstas Yes. It's just tonic water. The quinine in tonic water is what causes it to glow under UV light.

  • yup

  • i sure hope so...... GULP

  • @lordofgangstas yes :) i belive so its only tonic water and food coloring :)

  • @lordofgangstas i believe it would be

  • yeah you need a black light or else it doesnt work

  • they're not glowing, the light is just shining through them...wtf...

  • @iheartclassicrock they are glowing... that's a black light that makes them glow, I think it would be too weak by itself to give of a big glow... and a bottle of normal water is shown latter to prove that it's not light that's just shining through them

  • How did you made this?

  • instead of tonic water just do reg water and high lighter inc..

  • that's a lot more dangerous/toxic.

  • DUDE IM TRYING THAT!

  • Its the quinine in tonic water that makes it glow.

  • Your water is now pimping XD

  • can you drink this? it would look cool to drink glowing water

  • you can drink it if the concentration of the ingrediant Quinine is low, it's the main ingrediant in tonic water that acts as a pain killer for cramps arthritis lupus and malaria. It is sold over the counters in drug companies are very small doses

  • lies

  • so if you drink a lot you die ^^!

    right?

  • hey is that poisonous if you drink it???i want to test something ^^

  • Most likely it has phosphates in it which after all are phosphorescent, It also has food coloring in it which is poisonous in large quantities.

  • everything is poisonous in large quantities...

  • That's why everything is awesome :D

  • Even water (though, indirectly).

  • theres glo stick juce in them

  • thats y they glowed when the light was off. O WAIT THEY DIDN'T SILLY ME

  • There is quinine in tonic water that is fluorescent. pretty cool!

  • Make some nuka-cola quantum :D

  • loool that would be silly

  • Comment removed

  • .... idiot

  • is it drinkable?

  • up to a black light u dumb asses it would glow without the mix

  • that was a waste of my life

  • Almost every form of medicine (and even some vitamins) are unhealthy in large quantities. And many pharmaceuticals (all with an aromatic ring, e.g. paracetamol or aspirin) will glow under UV light. Quinine is used because its an effective treatment for malaria. So outside of tropical areas where mosquitos don't live it's more or less useless AFAIK.

  • I'm guessing that if it's tonic water, the fluorescent compound in the mixture is quinine.

  • and on house a guy had severe health problems by drinking too much tonic water because of the quinine. what other crap does it do? if it glows and is unhealthy in large quantities, why is it still used?

  • could be used for a halloween event

  • Or for a really hip bar.

  • Those are some cool bottles!

  • still looks aweosme

  • how long does it last?

  • to be honest I don't know, I cleaned the bottles out after I did a photo shoot with them.

  • It lasts until the lights are turned off.

  • UV light? Or?

  • black light

  • Read description.

  • It's the Quinine in the tonic water that makes it florescent.

  • can u drink it?

  • Yeh tonic is a drink its just got food colouring added

  • is that sarcasim

  • you can drink it

    for reals

  • wtf?!?!?!?

  • Something normal like Tide or All should work. If you can when you're in the store, take a peek inside the container... if it's blue in color (not sure if all detergents are anyway?) or purplish, it should work just fine.

  • Interesting, I never knew tonic water would catch black light. Aside from highlighter juice + water (which works very well), also try using liquid laundry detergent. Most should create a glowing blue effect.

  • Thank you very much for the idea! any particular brand you would recommend?
