  • The moment i heard a voice i knew it was a fellow singaporean. Where did you guys test this out man ?

  • why are you using modeling clay? Did you read unintended consequences?

  • Can civilians buy this product? (In the U.S.)

  • Would have been _really_ nice to see some slow-motion capture of the force-wave ripple and subsequent blow-back. Some kind of interleave "shingling" armor to spread out force is indicated after the pierce is defeated.

  • I'm not a ballistic expert, but when I asked one an engineer about it, he started to explain about RBT lubes that comes in contact with the metal skin and makes it hardened.

I lost whatever he said during lubes stuff. I guess that's a matter for ammo production dept.

  • question: why are you heating ammo ? just seems a bet dumb

  • LOL weapon "heat gun"

  • @pyrodownhiller only thing i can think of is to soften the lead but i dunno i haven' t figured that out yet i guess i am going to have to start heating up my rounds before i rob a bank :)

  • So what is the point using a heat gun? are you using it on the rounds or the firearm?

  • You forgot to mention how thick the treatment layers of thickening on the Kevlar are.

  • Ill buy it

  • why warm up the bullet?

  • @Wast3m to simulate a bullet coming out of a hot barrell im guessing for real world situations where there would be hundreds of rounds flying around most likely coming from very very hot barrells

  • Are you guys from malaysia or singapore?

  • well back then youd probably get a realy bad bruise maybe on the bone but hey at least you dont have a bullet in your leg

  • this shit is crazy. its been a few years since this vid was posted hows development going on this?

  • maybe you cant penetrate it,

but the force from bullet will still heavily damage e.g. rib cage and internal organs

(I guess better than nothing applys there)

  • Is it sold? Can we buy the finished product or materials separately to oneself civilian clothes? Does combined with a padded garment that will aid further improve the absorption of the damage?

  • The material is displayed at Millipol Paris last week. Very successful. It has been used in BPVs in USA and the EU as well as SE Asia. Yes you can use it for damage control. Can you send me your email and we can communicate directly.

  • whats with the heat gun at the first?

  • theyyy heated the bullet for some reason..

  • It's a reduction of 50% blunt damage, +4 Enchantment and immunity against Critical Hit.

  • Thanks Hornetpalooza, you are the only one that understood NIJ test conditions shooting through a light screen, heating up the bullet to increase velocity as we did not have a reloading legally at the range....and understanding blunt trauma. Thanks.....for 2 years, we get all sorts of rubbish, after 2 patent grants and it being used by many law enforcement agencies, including 7 states in the US.....you are the only sensible answer......cheers

  • xD haha i think he was taunting you :]... i think he was refering to video game like stats ^^

  • hahahahaa awesome...

  • lol sounds like your talkin about buying it for your video game character and adding to his "stats" hahaha

  • No controls what so ever, hardly scientific results.

  • @PlaceBotox The first one was the control wasn't it?

  • YESS!! it's water resistant.

  • It would leave a big ass bruise.

  • better than a big ass hole lol

  • Im from singapore. and i swear these guys are from singapore. Sounds exactly like us!

  • wtf b3nnj1! whats wrong with hearing singaporeans on youtube? must everyone speak with an english accent and flawless english to make you proud of your own country? i'm rather ashamed to have you as a fellow singaporean.

  • is this a dating site!? lol

  • wow very high tech way of shaping the clay flat.

  • are you guys fucking retarded? the clay is there to measure the impact force of the bullet it has nothing to do with stoping it

the treated cloth infront of the clay is the armor

  • are these guys from singapore? they sound exactly like people from over here.

  • looks like clay :P

  • Thats ballistic clay, the thing stopping the rounds is the cloth looking stuff in front of it. They are measuring the impacts based on the deformation of the clay.

  • Oh! Thanks

  • really, looks like dollar store clay to me

  • why do you guys warm up the bullet?

  • the chemical expansion of the gas from the gun powder is faster and more energetic when the powder is warm so the bullet gets a greater speed; the reverse is also truth, cold ammo has less velocity and velocity = power.

  • Prob so when it hits the "clay" it melts the shape into it.

  • I know an australian snowboarding company makes beanies with this stuff inside them. Its highly resistant to sudden impact but can be moulded and manipulated by hand

  • Do you mean D3O?

because thats different, and it supposed to be against blunt force trauma, not ballistic.

  • least the bullet bounced off.

  • Thanks John, there is so little energy left that the bullet bounced right off.

We tested with non deforming Steel Jacketed 9mm DM11 bullet, the V50 tests are same as standard fabric for Twaron CT709 but we use 2 layers less.

  • didnt look like there was any reduction in trauma

  • The neat fabric trauma value is 33 for first shot, 34 for second, the trauma values for the 9 shots are 11mm, 12mm, 14mm, 9mm, 8mm, 11mm, 12mm, 8mm and 12mm. Witness from Ten Cate, Armor Holdings and police and press. So, enjoy.

  • You sound like you are a Malaysian...

  • Nope, pure breed Singaporean, however, our article appeared in Malaysia Newspaper in November 2005.

  • Edit it down so there is not so much talking and bordom and you have a good vid!!!

  • The speaking is very important from a technical perspective. I would very much like videos with more talking relating to this subject!

  • Yes very true mate but that vid could have been far better and more interesting if they cut it down by about 25%.
