  • I watched this with my father when I was 6 lol ... ^^

  • it just looks like a shit movie tbh

  • @drummerson49 Trust me, it isn't. It's really good.

  • @drummerson49 actually its one of the best wolf movies ever made, trust me!

  • 1:08 - 1:23 that scene always makes me laugh so hard! It's just total chaos!

    Pure genious!

  • The nightmare scenes are the scariest.

  • David:10,0000000000000000000000000000000000000000

    Twilight wolves: ZIP

  • omg the wolf is scary yet it looks like a cross between a gorrila[body] and werewolf[face]

  • I love this movie...

What's the song at the end? Is a different version of "Meco blue moon"? (sorry for the english, I'm french)

  • @ProDuPrOn Its called Blue moon by The Marcels

  • Dang. I think I'm going to dig this out of my shelves and watch it again. Best dang horror comedy ever. Nothing has ever come close since then.

  • Werewolf movies it is better than sucky vampire

  • BLUE MOOONNN !!! YOU SAW ME STANDING ALONEEE ! WITHOUT A DREAM IN MY EYES.... WITHOUT A LOVE OF MY OWN !!!!

  • This and "The Thing" are the only films that shit me up... still. e_e

  • The screamer at 0:30 scared the fucking shit outta me when i watched this first time (I was 12) but even today it gives me chills!

  • Love these classic horror films.... Terrifying yet humorous... the part when he transforms in the London underground station is very scary. Love this FILM - remake will ruin these timeless classics. "The howling" is also brilliant!

  • @feonnas1 this movie and the howling are two classic werewolf movies and two of the best werewolf movies

  • It's ugly werewolves like this, why we don't wanna look like 'em if we were werewolves.

  • this is crazy!!! love it

  • 1981 was also the year that Joe Dante's "The Howling" hit the box office, a film in which I've never thought very highly of, and still don't. I'm not knocking Joe Dante- I loved his contribution to the 3rd segment of the Twilight Zone movie and his work on Gremlins. But The Howling never worked for me as far as script or direction. And Rob Bottin? Guy's a master of his craft in old-school effects(look no further than John Carpenter's "The Thing"). But the real honors went to team Landis/Baker

  • @DaemonicNimrod And The Howling also had Dee Wallace for the female lead compared with An American Werewolf in London, that had the(back then) incredibly attractive and talented Jenny Agutter - the hottest British woman I have EVER seen. She made "Logan's Run" worth watching back in the day.

  • @DaemonicNimrod You got that right!!...............Hey Nimrod....Are you following me?

  • what a silly movie sounds HILARIOUS!!

  • This movie is my earliest recollection from childhood of being terrified beyond any comprehensible comparative analysis. It was then, and still is (though with some serious contenders) my all-time favorite reel of cinematic celluloid. Largely in part to the sentimentality. God bless HBO for giving this landmark movie endless play back in those wonderful days of the early 1980's!

  • The music from 0:00 to 0:18 sends chills down my spine.

  • a naked american man stole my balloons

  • how i ended up watching this video

    1) thinking bout googling scariest video game ever

2)but the first result from google after typing scariest..... is scariest movie ever

3)click the first link..scrolling down and An American Werewolf In London was on the list

4)remind me of good old times watching this movie

5)copy the title and paste it on youtube

    6)and here i am

  • @udin23 Cool story, bro.

  • A Werewolf with a GUN!!!

    Classic.

  • wat version of blue moon is that?

  • @MidnightKobra123 It is the original version by "the marcels"

  • Comment removed

  • Oh damn I just learnt that a shitty remake of this film will be released soon FOR FUCK SAKE HOLLYWOOD.

  • HOLLYWOOD DON'T YOU DARE RE-MAKE THIS MOVIE!!

  • AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON FOREVER! NOW WHOS WITH ME

  • Hi, I'm a beginner of English language learning. Does anyone can tell me what the English doctor says? only understood "a lunatic"

P.S I love werewolves the best

  • @Juliooh "That lunatic must have been a very fierce fellow"

  • @DERBYCFC FINALLY, I KNOW IT, THANK YOU MY FRIEND!!!

  • @Juliooh You're welcome :)

  • greatest werewolf movie ever with Silver Bullett

  • One of the very few vampire/werewolve MOVIES EVER. The rest is shitty than anal sex.

  • i rewatched this recently and was surprised by how funny it was! i remembered it being a cheesy b-movie thing, but i was soso wrong.

  • nice to see the trailer to this movie.it isnt on the blu ray or dvd

  • Greatest werewolf movie ever made.

  • estas peliculas valen la pena :)

  • Cult....

  • Best parts of the movie are! The Slaughtered Lamb scene, First attack, Davids Transfermation, All the Undead scenes, Final Transfermation up to the Death of David.

  • this is by far the best werewolf film i seen

  • I nearly died laughing watching this film, its just fucking manic!

  • does anyone know what the song that plays from 1:09 to 1:35 is called?

  • @SonicBonjoviFan Blue Moon by The Marcels.

  • @SonicBonjoviFan It's one of the many remakes of Blue Moon.

  • blue moon

  • i love this is moovie

  • Perfect film in my opinion. Not one flaw.

  • one of the few movies where comedy and horror fit perfectly together

  • Great movie up to the last 5 minutes. Pity Landis didn't give much consideration to the ending.

  • seems to have been lots of wolves in london over the centuires, now on the streets the cubs are roaming;-) all have been bitten by something and all had it, silver linings indeed will cure the clouds of doom, time to sink the teeth into best living;-)

  • scraiest film i've ever seen as a kid and hell i love it :D

  • @santiken dude i was 7, nightmares for yrs

  • I just upload part 1 of this movie. Well part 1. I don't know how to promote so I have to go around and promote myself. Thanks.

  • @santiken The part at 0:32 was the bit that traumatized me as a kid. It took me about 6 years to be able to look at that image again. Now this is one of my favourite films of all time.

  • you saw me standing alone!!!!!!

  • Brilliantly amazing, the best werewolf film ever, closely followed by Dog soldiers !!!! Do away with CGI its no good........realism is what we want !

  • omg, the part of the film where he is in the hospital bed shit me up so bad the first time I watched it

  • @SH4LLOWGR4VE925 Same here. It took me years to build up the courage to watch that part again!

  • Wow! 1:09-124. American Werewolf did a better job at messing up London than Gorgo!

  • Best Werewolf movie ever!

  • I really like this movie but it scares the shit out of me! I watched it about a week ago and now I'm scared about opening window shades and what not all over again!

  • Mickey says, ' Hello David!!'

  • The voice likes 2010

  • I remember watching this for the first time when I was four... I cried when he started transforming into a werewolf. I still get freaked out when I watch this movie. I love it.

  • Song at the end?

  • @powerhousechipmunk23 blue moon by the marcels

  • One of my favourite movies of all time, I love the fact that it's humour mixed with horror that actually works. They just don't make 'em like they used to. :D

  • It pisses me off to see that they dont make em like this anymore. So quick to leave it up to a computer where you get fake ass CPU generated shit. I HATE IT! Look at all the craft that went into this brilliant film.

  • you dont get awesome graphics like this anymore...

  • its funny how shitty and uncreative trailers used to be

  • Nothing modern compares to this movies werewolf howl.

  • This movie is holy crap!

  • first horror movie i ever saw.

  • Saw the London Tube scene on a lunchtime programme for new VHS releases when i was 14. That segment ended just as the werewolf ( the American) appeared at the top angle of the screen, foot of the escalator. Still see it in my head sometimes using the Glasgow trains Lol!

  • micheal jackson fav movie that why he made thriller.

  • I love this film....great soundtrack and the howl on the moors scares the shit out of me!!...could you imagine hearing that when your walking in the dark...great film

  • Scariest werewolf howl EVER.

  • Rik Mayall's in this movie isn't he? When he was really young. I wonder if he was any good.

  • i watched this last night :3 i couldn't find the remote and my tv's too fancy for me to find the off button. o.e scary shit.

  • blue moon.....lol

  • god what a classic!! x

  • i love how they stamped the "director of animal house and blues brothers" to this film. two very different genres. yes its funny but its a really scary film.

  • @QuietGiantProduction

Landis not only directed it. He wrote it! Back in the 60s. Based upon that script he got his start in Hollywood and after directing a couple good films got the "greenlight" to make this one. It is his best film and the best werewolf movie ever made. Landis' humor is laced throughout and its very witty and charming while staying true to the serious nature of the horror genre. No other film does this as well. That said, I'm gonna get very drunk and watch it now.

  • Yea um Im still scared of this movie but just only the werewolf because its freakin scary. I think for me to get over this one is like a year or two...or maybe more....

  • American Werewolf In London Fans! I Made A Super Cool Tribute To This Kick Ass Movie & It's Probably The Best Werewolf In London Tribute You Will Ever See! Don't Believe Me? Take A Look! It's On My Channel! :)

  • I laughed throughout the entire thing. John Landis knows how mix horror with comedy and it won an Oscar for Best Special Effects.

  • one of the few good werewolf movies.

  • @VeryFineCrapVideos i suggest you mean by few also silver bullet?

  • just watched it tonight and its was kool

  • i saw this movie when i was like 7 or 8 haha and it did scare the shit out of me in the beginning when they are walking and singing a song i think to stay on the road and they fuck up and lose it then you hear the howling shit and that was scary how they attacked his friend one of the crazies shit i ever seen and now that im 19 i been trying to remember what it was called to see it again and i found it!!! good movie

  • This is the best movie of werewolf ever!!

  • When I saw that film when I was 8, it didn't scare the pants off me except the scene where Jack & David get attacked (which was a little bit scary, but not really scary when I first saw it).

  • shit film

  • @geoffdoor the only piece of shit here is you

  • @cartman68308 oh is that right well meet tomorrow at widnes town hall at noon and we'll see whose a piece of shit you fucking get!!! cartman your gonna get proper fucked ...now fuck off to your little 1 bedroom flat with that stupid thick doll in the corner called your girlfriend

  • I do, too.

  • The scene when he has to talk to his dead friend in the back of a porno theatre, and while he has to apologize to everyone he's killed you can hear the porn in the background xD.

    Great movie.

  • Same here. Very funny.

  • i laughed so hard when the child said, "A naked American man stole my balloon." this movie is both funny and scary at the same time it's just brilliant!! one of the best horror films ever!!

  • your such an arse licker

  • It sure is. And one of the funniest, too.

  • I liked it because the creature actually looked like a wolf and not one of those stupid looking man beasts. His wee mate was hilarious too!

  • I hear there's going to be a remake of this - hopefully to be released next year, on it's 30th anniversary. I'm sure it won't be as good as the original, but I'll be interested enough to see how they do it.

  • I really hope not. when hollywood remakes classic films like these, you know their running out of ideas.

  • Those schmucks. This film is CLASSIC, just like CITIZEN KANE.

  • goddamn even the trailer is great

  • not an horror comedy horror it was

  • there american werewolf in london is very funny as well

  • Very funny film. I love that film.

  • Great movie. Dumb trailer.

  • ROFLMAO what the hell was that funny walking thing around 1:15???

  • @Dimal427 just the scene that was going on and the music it was set too

  • this movie is really funny to!

  • the guy that directed this film was the same directer of micheal jackson's music video thriller

  • Wrong. Francis Ford Coppola directed that video, not John Landis.

  • No, John Landis did wrote & direct this classic, dude.

  • soz man i thought it was john landis

  • That is true.

  • 0:30 wtf is that thing? is that a zombie? it doesn't have any relashionship with a werewolf!

  • because his turning into a werewolf his having weird dreams.

  • his friend becomes a zombie this movie had alot of comedy

  • It sure did. Lots of humor, gore, & nudity. John Landis had made the best horror-comedy of all time.

  • They're rescreening this in the cinema over Halloween - so I reckon I'll see it again properly.

  • The greatest horror film ever made!

  • I saw "An American Werewolf In London" a few weeks ago, it was on the SCI FI Channel, it was very good!, I found it very entertaining, scary and interesting. I thought the Transformation scene was very clever, a lot of Film Directors who make "Werewolf Movies", use that scene in them!. I was impressed!. I've always wanted to see the film ever since I was little and now I'm glad got the chance...

  • That film is the best film ever made from the director of THE BLUES BROTHERS.

  • lol, looks retarted, and i absolutely love it!!! :D

  • "A naked American man stole my balloon." Lol. This looks good!

  • @BelleandBuster4Eva it is good,REALLY good you should see it,just take my word and listen to this,FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT WATCH THE CRAP SEQUEL AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS......you're getting up to see it right now aren't you -_-

  • @BelleandBuster4Eva it really is, u shuld totally watch it!!

  • I wish that had a friend..

  • still the most scary looking Werewolf today o_0

  • Fuckin' brilliant film.

Not many people seem to mention the late Elmer Bernstein's excellent music (maybe because there are some good moon-based rock ''n' roll tracks along the way too), so......kudos to you, Elmer!

  • IMO, Bernstein is really underrated.

  • That's right. The music is pretty good, too. Blue Moon, Moondance, and Bad Moon Rising are very good ones.

  • iwatched this on dvd tonight because

it was great no advert breaks or naffy

edits pure bliss with the lights down and seeing it on a cinema style plasma tv screen which it was great.

    frankie smales

(an american werewolf in london fan)

  • I watched this for the first time when I was about 10, in a tiny caravan with the rain and wind howling around us. It was so scary but even as a kid I appreciated the comedy. One of my favourite fims ever. An absolute classic.

  • One of my fav films growing up. Classic horror film so many memorable moments!

  • one of the best werewolf horror movies ever made

  • Luv this movie!!!

  • david naughton is fab :)x
