Wc3 is one of the hardest rts games to truly master due to all the micro that is needed (unlike in starcraft for example). There are so many little tricks that you can do with your units if your unit control is supreme, and all these affect to the outcome of the match (surrounds, moving injured units aside etc etc...).

My theory is that WoW is much more popular than Wc3 simply cause it takes so immensely time to learn to play warcraft 3 properly. (micro)...

I see tons of starcraft hate in WC videos and it bothers me. I know nothing about WC so I can't speak about it, but I can say that I've played many games profesionally and I can't think of ANY game that is equal to starcraft in terms of skill that is required to play at the top levels. WC players are mistaken when they think that just b/c someone says starcraft requires more skill that WC is a bad game. It may be an awesome game with a lot of strategic depth regardless of its comparison to sc

I used to play warcraft 3 + TFT tower defense and such back when it was new and recently I picked it up again and started playing melee.

Today I decided it was time to try 1on1 but I wanted to be prepared so I checked on youtube for some vids and found this one.

When I saw how the guys in this vid played I understood that I should try to emulate that.
