  • Wut the hell! 94-96 b-body cars do not have chips! Where the hell r ppl getting their info from. U cannot buy a chip for a lt1 b-body. They r flash/program only.

Besides of all the other things mentioned, the computers have different tunes due to rear gear ratios and tire diameter. Not sure about anything else.

  • whhaattt? the ss lost to the caprice

  • I got a 94 Caprice Lt1...they dont take off too fast but Dammit when they pic up it zooms!!

  • because of the distributor thats why they are the better years.

  • slightly modded 13.32! lmao yea its only 2 seconds faster then stock! they are low 15sec cars bone stock.

  • @BLACKLACDTS Hmmm, had a stock '94 9C1 that ran 14.8x stock with a plugged cat. It's doable. Just need to pick parts carefully.

  • @pcs94lt1 WELL YOU HAVE A FREAK! LOL I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BONE STOCK LT1 CAPRICE,IMPALA,ROADMASTER OR FLEETWOOD CRACK 14S.WHAT PARTS ARE YOU TALKIK? I HAD 3 LT1 CARS AND KNOW OWN A LS2 400HP VEHICAL. I HAD A 95 9C1,95 CAPRICE CLASSIC AND 95 FLEETWOOD AND NONE RANS 14S STOCK. THE 9C1 RAN 15.1XS ALL DAY BONE STOCK WITH 100K MILES AND WAS THE FASTEST.I ALSO HAD A 05 CADILLAC DTS WITH THE 300HP NORTHSTAR AND MY FRIEND HAD A 96 LT1 CAPRICE AND I COULD KEEP HALF CAR ON HIM. ITS DOABLE BUT VERY RARE!

  • Beautiful, just beautiful I love them both

  • 13.3? for a 4000 pound car is not bad. :)

  • sirseok i agree wit u man, cause i got a 95 caprice n am telling u man i left and impala behind sucker.... but i was also reading an article in Wikipedia about the Impala SS n it says that the 94-96 impala ss got all the specs from the caprice just modify the exterior/interior but not the Engine? then i guess it should of just been Impala.. n Caprice should have been Caprice SS

  • Wimpala...

  • THATS A GOOD MATCH UP!!! IMPALA SS VS 9C1 CAPRICE! SS always known fo goin fast, tha only thing that 9c1 will outrun it cuz of that HIGH PERFORMANCE COP CHIP THEY PUT N. So Impala SS always come out to b tha BEST N FAST.

  • Which car is faster The 1996 9c1

    or the 1996 impala ss ? I have a 96

9c1 and I am considering getteing a ss, But if the 9c1 is quicker I will just paint mine, and leave the spotlights of for that official effect

  • @PuppyPetite

A 94 Caprice 9C1 LT1 to 94 Impala SS; 95 Caprice 9C1 LT1 to 95 Impala SS; and 96 Caprice 9C1 LT1 and 96 Impala SS are the same car performance wise. Interiors are different. But engine, trans, rear diffs are the same. 9C1 had a narrower rear end, but both cars had 4 wheel disc brakes.

Everything else, inlcuding the ultra cool "cop chip" are myths and bullshit.

  • @albertabirdman Thanx for clearing that up, Ima keep my 9c1 and make everyone think ima DT lolz

  • The 96 Impala SS also comes with 352 foot pounds of torque...

  • The LT1 came stock, out of factory with 330 foot pounds of torque. The same as the Caprice's LT1.

  • an impala SS LT1 is EXACTLY the same LT1 in a 9c1 or B4U civi caprice. heads, cam, SAME. and POSI was available also just geared differently. in reality as far as true performance goes.. the ugly ass 9c1's were built better, came with more than an SS. stiffer springs, twice as many body bushings, external oil cooler, even a REAL oil pressure sender that reads correctly. the ss guage is a "dummy gage" that will show the same reading as long as its over 5psi. the SS is nothing more than cosmetics

  • @sirseok you know what you are talking about ihad a 95 caprice ss police pakage now i have a 96 impala ss. half of yall talking shit and never had either one . they both have the same engine and trans mission its just the police car was design to out run the impala and theonly way it does that is by the computer programmer or a chip .

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

yeah and i fuck movie stars

  • Q:

whats the difference between impala ss 96 and caprice ss 96

  • Tires, coolant hoses, steering box, front brake calipers and pads, body bushing(s), engine oil cooler, springs/shocks, those are about the main differences. Most of the other stuff is cosmetic.

  • no man they have the same body the same engine the same tires

but i heard caprice ss96 only 20000 made and they all in the middle east

have you ever saw a caprice SS 96 ??

you couldn't know the difference only by the name

  • SS Allday Nigga

  • 94 WAS THE BEST YEAR AS FAR AS 9C1

  • @im0new0here........I just bought a 1994 caprice 9c1 why is the 94 the best year?

  • whats the difference between the two if they were both stock?

  • Both cars are essentially the same. Stock the 9C1 suspension sits higher, the Impala has nicer interior and external trim, 9C1 has 15 inch rims while Impala has 17s. Both generally have the LT1 engine, but the 9C1 could be ordered with a de-stroked version called the L99. The Impala was designed to be a SS version of the police package. Very little is different in the way of mechanics. Oh, the rear axle assembly on an Imp is wider than the 9C1 version.

  • Post is in response to MarioLoco03 question about what the diffence is between two stock versions of these cars.

  • @albertabirdman educate these dum ass people please i had a95 ss caprice now i have a96 impala ss .. these folk just like hearing there self talk when they dont know shit

  • Phoenix Firebird raceway?

  • 9C1 had tranny coolers, hd sway bars, silicone hoses, and i think thicker rotors.

  • haha the caprice smoked the impala shoulda thrown a monte in there too lolz chevy the shit fuck ford and dodge lolz

  • almost same car. only different name :D

  • Does anyone know which caprice cop car. Who had the biggest fastest and strongest engine..

I mean the cars that was make to be around in the city like the nypd. Maybe they did.`t needed a strong engine. they would make it with 260hp something.

Otherwise a highway patrol car neded a stronger engine. like 300 hp or even more...

I wonder which sort of Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 car is the strongest. And what does it called Or have all of e`m the same engine. I appreciate the one who tells me.

  • The 1994 through 1996 9C1s had the same LT1 engine as the Impala SS - 260 HP stock.

  • @yppiz 260 HP is bs as far as I'm concerned. 260 HP and 330 LBT will not screech the tires across an intersection. 330 HP and 375-400 LBT will though. I just bought a 96 9C1 and that did not feel like 260 HP when I took off, it felt like more.

  • @Mu4dD1b15 so does mine but they are factory hyperteched chipped the 9c1 model

  • Nice!!!!

What modifications did you do to your car????

  • Comp Cams Xtreme Energy cam, CIA long tube headers, cat-back, pcmforless programming, 3.73s, 3000 stall, and a host of other things I can't remember :-)

  • lol i know u suped da shit out dis caprice. i bet u wuldnt have done dat to a 95 lol. but u smoked da shit out dat 96 tho

  • what? get rid of your ebonix coon...

  • 94-96 impala is the same car. and same as the 9c1 besides visuals

  • nice race, both cars pack the 350 small block gen 2 lt1 and both cars have the 4l60e tranny but the 9c1 comes stock with a sort of shift kit in the tranny.

  • Nope, 100% identicle. Even the computer. Only differences, all SS had posi, 9C1 it was optional, SS had 154mph set as speed limiter, 9C1 with 235x70 tires got 149 and 225x70 tires got 129.

As a matter of fact, grandpas Roadmaster and Uncle Joes Fleetwood had the exact same eng/trans and optional rear ends.

  • Almost forgot, civilian Caprices and some 9C1s could have had the 4.3 "baby LT1".

Otherwise no difference between all the cars except for some minor stuff here and there.

  • what about the rear brakes?? are the 96 caprices disk on the rear also? or drum?

  • 9C1 Caprices and Impalas are rear disc 94-96, civilian models had rear drums.

  • both cars are the best

  • the caprice won.

  • Yes I did, even though I was sleeping at the light :-)

  • You were sleeping at the light and still caught him at the other end of the track. I was just telling this guy that a police caprice was faster than ss because of their wheel difference. But both of your cars are modded so no way to tell in this race lol.

  • I got a 96 9c1 with 90k on it, and it seems to me it holds second gear to long if i punch and just lay down on it. I gotta let up off the gas to get it to bump again but never the less it aint no slouch. What is the difference in the drive train between the 9c1 and the ss?

  • Sounds like you should have the transmission checked out, the 3-4 clutch pack may be going out, that would cause a delayed 2-3 shift. There is no difference in the drivetrain between the 9C1 and the Impala SS. Same engine, same trans, same rear gears, just minor differences like cooling fan motor, hoses, and rear axle shaft lengths.

  • love both cars so much
