  • Pro Tip: Pick a college that doesn't suck. UTD WOOSH

  • I pay for the degree I got; not for what I learned. BTW; you interviewed Chomsky?! Congrats; he's a hero to the cognitive community.

  • like I always say either grow a thicker skin or fuck off

  • I'd still prefer universities like the ones sighted than one's like Liberty University.

  • MEGAN FTW :D

  • What a disappointment! It's all bout Penn and Teller complaining that universities are too liberal.

  • @iamsupa1 Now that's Bullshit

  • What is pure BS is that you did not allow Chomsky more time to talk.

  • Notice that Chomsky was only given 2 sound bites, not including the stupid question at the end. Would have been nice to hear more of what he had to say. The nazi poster was a good point, but Penn seems to miss the whole concept of "My freedom to swing my arm ends at your nose".

  • never disargee with your proffessors even when they are wrong or you might not pass their classes, thus you will not get the credits th graduate.

  • When I was in the SCSU dorms my buddies put up a Kama Sutra calendar on the outside of my door...I found it funny and so did alot of other people so I kept it up...shortly after the RA told me I had to take it down because it could be offensive to people...to avoid penalties and possible expulsion from the dorms I had to remove it...College Lesson 1 - Don't express yourself if it might offend somebody else...BULLSHIT!

  • Damn it, I expected more than 3 seconds of noam chomsky.

  • "If someone tells you"you are too weak to live with freedom" they have turned you into a child. " No, its worse than that. Because at least children have parents who care for them and actually KNOW what's best for them.

  • I love Penn... but Penn vs. Noam, pshhhhhhh. Noam wins by a lightyear and a half.

  • So if you live on campus, it's not your home? And if someone hangs a swastika in the hallway on their door, then I shouldn't care? No. I don't think so.

  • @zoeleutheros Ok maybe not the hallway. Thats univeral public area. But on their door? Yes. They have every right. And you have a right to put up something anti nazi on your door. Thats the great thing about market of Ideas.

  • I spent 10 years in university; learned comp.sci, learned Japanese, and now work in Tokyo. Going to university was never a way to get a career, it was an excuse to do what I love; learn stuff I was interested in.

And since I'm from Scandinavia, rather than the land of the free to be enslaved, my debt from those ten years is not that onerous.

As with everything else in life, things are what _you_make of them.

  • I don't to university for many reason. Didn't want to waste 4 years of my life on more school, political correctness is fucking bullshit, either get a sense of humour or grow a thicker skin you fucking puffs. And mostly, Debt i don't want it.

  • Funny how the more you learn, the less conservative you are.

  • calling college a four-year beer commercial run by politeness police is the greatest thing I've ever heard lol

  • all you have to do to see the proof of the assertions in this video is ....

join any political discussion forum in the United States and postulate a conservative opinion on anything at all ... and this experiment works every time!

every brainwashed university libtard will come out of the woodwork with the most vicious personal attacks on your character and education, you will be assailed with accusations of racism, homophobia, bigotry, etc, but they'll never address any single point you make.

  • how that guy dares to play Beethoven with an untuned piano!

  • @Kama18 He was clearly joking.

  • Go because you love drinking? Really I enjoy listening to them most of the time but this is one of the most retarded things I have heard them say, P&T...I'm sure are aware of how costly these institutions are and to say something so irrational is surprising, if you wanna drink all day you can do that without wasting tens of thousands of dollars every year.

  • Kind of asked Noam Chomsky the wrong question...should have asked him if there was neolibral propaganda in colleges. "The Left", under his terminology, does not mean political correctness. He calls it "Neo-Liberal" Just going to correct that

  • college grads are sometimes the most gullible people I know. they know only what they are taught and that is often wrong. yes colleges are used like political universities no doubt

  • Not putting it down because he was learning his trade [Illusionist] but Wikipedia says that Penn Jillette went to a Clown College. I myself see college as a waste of time only if you can acquire the skills you need for a job without it which might be more common than you might think (i.e. learning computer programming out of books you can check out of your local public library).

  • pc is bs

  • @toSTONEiGO Yes, you nailed it perfectly. No matter how much you like or despise the left you have to admit that the left is responsible for much of the bullshit political correct movement. That is one of the most damaging things to our society. People don't have the freedom to voice their unpopular opinions or be able to be corrected when they believe in bullshit in the name of preventing people's feelings from being hurt.

  • @RuinSonic libertarianism FTW!

  • @toSTONEiGO True. I'm sick of people arguing over a slight variation of the political spectrum where both sides want to control you with what they believe in.

  • I guess it's good that I didn't go away when I went to college. The Soviet flag on my wall surely would've caused a stir in the minds of these people.

  • I was kinda disappointed after initial excitement over this show. I got repelled by the shallowness of their research and narrow presentation on topics such as this, global warming ect.The focus on individual cases, groups, opinions rather then doing and showing a verity of them. I get they are bound by the format of the show, but it's still disappointing .

p.s-pls don't mistake my criticism as a sign of me supporting any of the groups mentioned in the show

  • This show is amazing... however it's Bullshit! (at least they know what they are) It's insanely entertaining, and the information is sometimes good... But they've flip flopped a LOT.. been proven straight wrong on other topics and other episodes.. just completely miss the point. Also, they pick on people and take them out of context sometimes.. which is entertaining... but not without huge bias... Chomsky, was given literally, 30 seconds in this episode... Bullshit!

  • @ShinEmperor in the first series they said they were bias. I myself am intrigued by the topics and information but if i truly believe something or know for fact, that they take the piss out of or disregard, it would not change my opinion. The best way to look at the show is an opened sided debate and if its a topic you don't know, read up on it and make your own mind up as i'm pretty sure everyone on the p&t crew have done, and from your comment mate, you would do regardless.

  • @ShinEmperor I know. This show should be better for having such a title. Even though I agree strongly with their one on religion, they still were very biased and really didn't get the best experts to really talk about religion and ancient history in my opinion, since I'm not an expert myself.

  • It is called entertainment. All of you people comlpaining are very defective, My question for you is who forced you to watch somthing you hated so much? BULLSHIT!

  • @jspenco2 They say a lot of good stuff and I kinda agree with him most of the time. But still his method of delivery is bullshit.

  • I love Penn and Teller and I agree that college degrees are overvalued in society. However, this episode is no different than any other hit piece. There are thousands of university's around the United States that have to follow many different laws (state and federal). Different university's have different mission statements and different majority groups.

The only thing I would agree with is that colleges are defiantly more liberal and sometimes speech can be squashed (like all institutions).

  • @calicheese23 But on the other hand, you can have conservative universities that go against gays or left wing idea. It's happens on both sides of the political spectrum. But I agree they should get the political correct bullshit out of the universities and let people choose their own political views and career path.

  • @17thSHIT the ratio of conservative to liberal universities is so swayed in the liberals' favor that the comment "it goes both ways" doesn't apply AT ALL when talking about colleges or universities. The left IS academia. This is why conservatives are called "anti-intellectual," for the perception that because conservatives disdain the liberals' control over the academic realm that they hate intellectuals in general.

  • It's sad Penn and Teller let some of the most pressing reasons to avoid college out. Professors focused only on tenure and research, classes that my dog could pass (perhaps that's not fair, my dog is really sharp) and grades that are easier and more meaningless than ever. I mean come on, multiple choice tests should have gone out with the ninth grade! College has become nothing more than really expensive 13th grade.

  • Oh, I thought this episode was about college, not about political correctness. I thought they were gonna point out how teaching methods employed by the vast majority of professors basically boil down to reading to children, how college consists of paying tens of thousands of dollars to teach yourself and take tests, be artificially held back by time limits, etc. rather than going on about some impertinent point that no one in college actually cares about.

  • @themasteriswatching Didn't you recognize at the beginning that Penn said that he learns by teaching himself? It doesn't surprise me at all.

  • @themasteriswatching i kno right sooo disappointing

  • @themasteriswatching yea they did go a bit off there. and that is all true.

  • this video is libertarian horseshit

  • @thprfssnl1 what do you have against libertarianism?

  • @1Pantikian Libertarianism is short for "your rights depend on what state you live in even though you're still American and pay the same taxes." I was in the Libertarian Party for over ten years. It's a great scam, but in the end it's there to screw blue collar people just like the Reps.

  • @thprfssnl1

That's an entirely subjective and pointless thing to say, but I guess you could say that about everything that comes out of a liberals mouth

  • Someone punch that fucking fucktard in the face then pour that fucking fondo down his trousers. Twat.

  • PENIS:

    Publicly

    Endorsed

    New

    Initiative

    Scheme

  • STEM:

    Science

    Technology

    Engineering

    Math

The only degrees you should consider.

  • Actually, all things considered, I love this episode.

  • Nicholes is a creepy! I don't know if he would rape youg men or try to have you as a sex slave.

  • Comment removed

  • Hes a pussy.

  • I don't get how the fact that certain colleges being extremely sensitive and overreacting shows that all college is bullshit. This show should have been more geared to saying that college is pointless, or it should have been given a different title.

  • Yeesh, David Horowitz. Can't stand his ass.

  • @DaHonestAbe

Horowitz is a douche, but I don't think he said anything stupid in this case

and WTF is with the right-wing bias and sources? You don't need to be a flaming right-winger to criticize our colleges. What the hell!

I'm kind of appalled by Chomky; but face it, he'd whoop these guys' ass in a fair fight, which this was not

  • @SUpersaiyajinjerkbag Your comment is interesting. However, I would suggest going to the leftist Newspaper counterpunch and reading an article by Justin E.H Smith titled "David Horowitz's Odd Gripe." It really puts into perspective this weak ass garbage that the right and David Horowitz try and pedal.

  • @DaHonestAbe Counterpunch? That awful left wing rag produced by Olivia Wilde's communist parents? Spare me your left wing propaganda. I prefer mine right of center and solidly libertarian.

  • @TheLastBrainLeft spare me your right wing propaganda and your David Horowitz.

  • @SUpersaiyajinjerkbag Howowitz is a hero, and Chomsky was pwned by a juggler with a GED.

  • HAIRY TOES?!? MY FUCKIN ACHIN ASS!! i lol'd hard...

  • This episode was bullshit..

  • @somethingonmyhip Meaning it hit a nerve. Good. Everything shown in this episode is bullshit. Apparently you think differently. Please explain why.

  • ahahahahaha.....
