  • Man, I don't know why but the idea of being lifted and crushed inside a garbage truck really turns me on...

  • Wow, didn't know you guys were local. Rainbow has the coolest trucks around but they don't like people following them with cameras either. We could have the cameras hide in the bushes. I have several friends in Rainbow territory who will let us on their property to do this. I certainly don't want to freak out the drivers or any neighbors, done enough of that in the past. LB also has some nice rear loaders!

Would love to join you guys... Know of anyone using Lodal MSL's? There the best!

  • Sorry shadofax96, of course you are local. You posted all the great Rainbow Amrep ASL videos. I had you confused with starshorts from IL. He was writing me about his website just before I saw this.

Hey, have you ever checked out the trucks in Redondo Beach? The drivers are very cool and a couple of them have played along on several occasions.

  • The trucks in Redondo Beach are now McNeilus FLs with semi-auto bins. Consolidated Disposal collects there now.

  • Wow, your good! I don't get around as much as I used to but it is good to hear that you are keeping up with it all. Those drivers are pretty cool to me and they even let me climb the ladder to video the stuff getting compacted inside the truck. They are supposed to be getting Curotto Cans there soon. I like to see the Curotto's work but it is tough to save anything without getting in the way.

What, or where are you favorate trucks in So. Cal.?

  • Long Beach's Waste Management route (the recycle route) uses Curroto Cans, Whittke FL's and Mack chassis, generally. They have others, but this is their favorite. So if the Curroto can is your thing, check those guys out!

I think my favorite trucks are at Rainbow Disposal. I love manual collection, CCC chassis, Detroit Deisels, and MSL's. Rainbow's is probably the last fleet in the country to have this combo.

  • Park Disposal would be my second since they have trucks that harken to my child hood. Some of the trucks they have are the same ones they used when I was a child. Sounds, looks, styles, and they still have a few Bowles, which is a truck that used to collect at my home when I was young. Also because they have refused to purchase Amrep Octo-bodies or the Hardox, like everybody else.

  • I would say that Escondido Disposal (Trashman242's home company)is my next favorite. They have Ottawa Rouge trucks, CCCs manual collection, and MSLs.

    Whereabouts do you live islandbill?

  • Zach I'm so proud of you! I'm glad you finally posted a video! It was great! We need more please.

  • Yes, more-more-more!

Maybe we should all get together for a big party and we can make lots of video!

I have litteraly tons of stuff we could toss into garbage trucks and if we got our s**t together we could do some multi-camera shoots and make some real cool videos...

I can get plenty gear but need some extra hands...

  • Multi-Camera shoots... Wouldn't that freak a driver out! Which company would you propose we try to feed stuff to?

  • So far Rainbow is the only one who would play along, but remember Christmas season is quickly approaching, and I get a week off after the holiday, I'm going to be spending it with Zach chasing trucks and capturing Rainbow's fleet gobbling up Chritsmas trees, and mountains of trash! You should come along, I'm trying to get dates squared away from my boss so that we can plan this expidition.

  • Rouge?

Wonder if that name is litteral?

Where does this collection company operate?

  • This company operates in the Rogue Valley in Medford Oregon and surrounding area.
