excellent move... nice to see you added the steps involved too rather than just showing off the kick only.. i think the execution of the actual hit itself is what makes this kick great.
@scotth5533 The reason it says TaeGwonDo is because it's closer to the actual way koreans say it then as opposed to our american accent of saying Taekwon do simply because it's spelled that way. And alot of taekwon do kicks have different names it can be called a 540 or a 720 same way spinning hook kick is also known as spinning heel kick.
Yes, in English its pronounced TKD because the referred 'G' is the sound used in the Korean lettering (which is an upsidedown "L") to spell taekwondo. The reason a "K" is used in English is because the formation of the lettering is actually pronouced "gh-wu-ahn" - which carries a K sound. In Korean its pronouced Tae "Ghwuahn" do. GingerSkate7 - the 'yell' you referred to is a grunt called a 'kiyap' which is used to exert more energy, like many athletes do (tennis, fencing, etc)
Not to offend, maybe it's practice, but I think they would benefit from one of those target poles instead of piggybacking, good work though, I've been trying to find a video where you can see the technique behind the kick, it just moves so friggin fast lol
yeah from the begining it was... nowadays martial arts is more like a sport. i mean judo for example, great martial art and fun sport, but really useless for selfdefence (Unless your opponent doesn't know how to fight or is drunk...). Shorinji kempo in the other hand is a great selfdefence...
@SweetLilyKim Very nice. I didn´t go to a Korean Tkd University but I think I'm not doing wrong. You have to consider that no one explain me the way to do it. What do you think about mine? Do you have any advice? Thank you. Mi video: George Sea 540 Tkd Kick
Nice kick ^_^ You have to hand it to the Koreans. I got the gist of what you were trying to teach (I guess it helps that I already know the spinning motion from studying other videos and practicing the 360 kicks that lead up to it), but maybe you could try adding subtitles in English to your video (if you can)?
Hmmm. I thought tornado is the most suitable word in English, so I used it. Its original name could be translated maybe like this "540 degree rotation back turning kick"
yes 540 degree rotation back turning kick is right^^ the tornado kick is an 360° or 540° front turning kick..on youtube you can find a lot of it ;-) when you type in "Tornado kick"

"It's with a K, not a G..... It's a 720, not a 540....."
What you call it in your hood really seems kinda petty. It's a pretty good tutorial, and a pretty cool kick. Please post something better if you can.

No, I think yer thinking of the TRICKING 540, which is executed more similarly to a traditonal tornado kick.

What does that mean. Martial arts were developed for self defense.
