@eapollo Enjoyed training with you in Jackson with Sensei Kerker and Norton yesterday. I hope you learned a lot. I KNOW you felt a lot. Keep in contact.
I got back into Isshinryu almost 2 yrs ago after studying it as a kid. I liked it as a kid but the school I studied at closed. As a 35 yr old adult, I love the style. The school I study at now talks about bunkai which I had never been exposed to as a kid. When just learning the movements and no bunkai it doesn't really cement the movements in my head. Having a reason to do a particular move at a particular time makes more sense and makes it easier to remember. Thank you Sensei, for the video.
Sensei Radunz I really like this video. I'm just now learning this kata and it is going great. This is quickly becoming my fav kata! Do you have any other videos that go along with the rest of the kata?
@ajcksn24 So far, just the two vids already posted on bunkai and one on how I perform the kata. I have a vid that breaks down the entire kata, but it's much too long to post.
Thanks for posting a video that "hits us where we're at" for my students and I--my advanced belts and I have been discussing the idea of alternate applications for bunkai apart from the standard/obvious ones. Your videos are a great catalyst for us to continue to grow in our study of Isshin-Ryu!
Great learning video sir. Thank you for taking the time to post this, it's very helpful.
