Well, it really doesn't matter how many moves you have in the form. The important thing to know is that by practicing the form correctly, it teaches you how to move your body to generate power in the fight. Therefore, the form is the foundation of the fight. Practicing it correctly is critical.
While there is a small degree of personal responsibility for learning this crap, most people just do not realize what crap this is. Kudos to the student for learning what she was told...shame on this organization for teaching abominations of what ITF patterns should teach-proper body mechanics, hip twist, and the ability to generate power. No one with half a brain thinks that "forms" or "patterns" teach you how to fight. They do however work on fundamental movement if done properly.
@hosmanc Hahahahhahahahahah well actually forms Are meant to practic the moves, you'd have to be pretty clueless to think this is all we do! Hello, we do spar smarty pants :)
The pattern is the ITA Rendetion of Yoo-Shin. The proper form as created by General Choi, Hong Hi has 68 movements. My greatest concern with all that has been posted is that this was a testing, and the student cannot even tell you how many movements compose the form!
@BigJyeTV - There cannot be mind intent in a school where "we don't need to know...silly"... How many thousands of dollars has this child's family paid to this school or organization? Do they really feel they got their money's worth?
@batemanTKD I hear ya on that. I just couldn't be an instructor passing students who are dancing through the movements....how do some of these instructors sleep at night?
@BigJyeTV dude...I must have been like 12 here, I wasn't very powerful back then..
and no no no we just don't need to know how many moves are in the form. it's not like I'm too lazy to remember, we just don't have to know. sorry if that makes you upset. My instructors are very good thanks so much :)
the form was done techniquially right, i hope as ITA 2nd degree decided black belt i hope you take more time in your form and focus on making every movement full of power and focus. you looked more like you where just going through the movements and not putting your heart into it. ( i am a former ita 2nd degree black belt.)
that doesnt look like my 2nd degree form i do corean tkd with master shin and dr abernathy im almost 2nd degreee an u can be any age bcuz im 10 and mi sister wuz ten wen she got her secong degree
hey!! awsome job!! this used to be my form!! ok i was wondering whats up with the level things?? i stoped taking Teakwondo like 3 yrs ago right b4 they changed the whole freakin thing! haha
oh ok so if i was decided then i would b like level 2 now...i guess...haha..wow that kinda stinks..now u have to go though 4 testings insted of 3 to get to the next degree...
How old r u. don't tel me ur real age u dont' have to. but. are u atleast ABOVE THE age of 15? bc. in tkd.. u have to b above 15.... to get the 2nd degree.. I'M REGISTERED TO KUKKIWON.. KOREA... MY.. MASTER IS CHUN OH KIM.. AND KOREAN.. SO. WEN I WAS REGISTERED I HAVE TO HAVE MY 2ND DEGREE WEN I'MA 15 OR OLDA. KK...
AWESOME FORM THOUGH... 5*S AND SUB. anyways. i sub. and rate 5*s for everyone.. lol.. kk i'm just bred.
thats only cuz ur in a different tkd than me, im part of the ITA (international tae kwown do alliance) and ITA doesnt start worrying about ages till 3rd degree level 4
good job but to actually practice taekwondo you must show power in all forms. You got the from down now practice power and use emotion when testing show anger and peace at the same time. taekwondo way of hand and foot. A belt dont show how good you are you would be nothing without a belt you must show what is in your heart. thats the true spirit of martial arts
lol thanks. yeah that was a few testings ago. i didnt do my BEST cuz i was still pretty new to the form. my newer one is much better and my instructors really like it [:
I can't see anyone making it look hard? Good job on your testing, but this form looks surprisingly simple for a black-belt. Are all black-belt forms like this? I'm just a curious gong fu student, by the way (:
It really isn't as simple as you think it is it's like 70 something moves and yes most forms are like this maybe you do tkd for a different alliance? you try doing it it took me about a month or 2 to learn it:)

@hosmanc I agree with you all the way. But in the AMAI we have certain forms devoted to sparring and it works quite well if you ask me.

@batemanTKD well thats because we don't need to know the number of movements silly! :]
DisneyAlias47 1 year ago
@batemanTKD my greatest concern is the 'dead movement'. I expect more mind intent and sharper techniques at the BB level.
