absolutely 100% go to Corfu. You will have the best time of your life. I stayed in Athens and checked out the sites for the first day, then me and about 10 friends hopped on a plane to Corfu that night. We stayed at the Pink Palace for the rest of the time.
You will have to fly there is the only problem. The benefit will come when you have 100x more fun then everyone that goes to Mykonos or Santorini. Those islands are insanely touristy and expensive.

that was in Greece on an island called Corfu. There is a hostel there called The Pink Palace. Best vacation of your young adult life.
