@charlieismydarling: I watched this film last night. Unfortunately, Jessie and JJ hasn't been able to reunited although the new owner was located and agreed to return JJ according to the court ruling.
AnnNCephaic - do you know that Jessie was reunited with JJ? Please say yes! It's heart-wrenching and pathetic that Jessie would have to defend himself as deserving, a good citizen. That segment (Jessie talks about himself) and the that where the pro bono attorney talked about how his client, the adoptive family, was so much better than the dog's first family, were two of the most chilling examples of racism + classicism in our country I've ever seen.
Malvin and Bandit were reunited. Max and Victor were reunited. Jesse and JJ were also finally reunited. These are some of the happy endings even if it took too long.
Katrina taught the USA and world that people's attachments to their four-legged children must be dealt with in such catastrophes. It is estimated that up to 40% of human deaths were due to the refusal of pet owners to leave without their pets.
I'm not sure but I think the point here is someone either adopted or fostered Bandit. And now this poor guy wants him back. There have been a few legal battles over these animals that people have taken in and then refused to give back to their owners.
How very sad it is how the American government treats the American people. It really couldn't care less. If and when something really big befalls this country, you're on your own, people. The government only bails out the rich and powerful -- to hell with everyone else. You don't matter to them except to do their work for them.

I wish his dog would come home but I fear he is dead because it has been too long. He should get a new dog ASAP. He is an old man...
