Margaret Cho is simply the the most brilliant stand up comedian of her generation. Indeed, there are very few comedians from ANY generation who could hold a stage with her. A razor sharp wit, intelligence, compassion, a social conscience - and a willingness to expose herself so completely to her audience that only artists of true integrity have. As onagus2008 said - If you can't appreciate her, stick to Hanna Montana!

It's interesting to see how times have changed. Reference W.C. Fields, for example, as a comedian who gots major laughs while never doing "trashy" material. That was back in the 1930's-40's. America has certainly lowered her "socially acceptable" standards since then. Don't know how they can go much lower, actually.

if you like her stuff, so be it.

i find little to like about anyone in the pop culture who regualrly resorts to vulgarity to achieve cheap laughs from plebians--bread and circuses. I guess i don't find her funny bcuz, in general, vulgarity, profanity, and obscenity don't appeal to me. Her "humour" is far from innocent or without a politcal agenda.

you do know that there are different types of comedy, right? not everyone is going to laugh at the same thing. no two senses of humor are the same. its part of the whole "everybody is unique in their own way" kinda thing. anyway, obviously the people at her show think what she says is hilarious or else they wouldnt pay to go. so just because you dont find her funny doesnt mean she isnt funny at all. your opinion is that she sucks. my opinion is tht she is one of the funniest comedians today.

I might have agreed, sorta, when i was 10.

But i find neither very classy, or appealing now that i live in an adult world. They both kinda represent vulgar aspects of american life. I prefer to avoid the Vulgar.

Yeah, I totally feel M.C. on all that! It can hurt when people look at your birth features and they just tell you what you can and can't be because of stupid social acceptance crap! I didn't grow up in that kind of atmosphere but I can relate to everything she said.
