I look at this beuty and see the legs of the Cloverfield Parasites dangling from the chest and a head that looks shockingly simaler to the Cloverfield monster's head!
@jcdenton100 its from another dimension. The biology is obviously quite different, considering the other assortment of creatures that appear. Its motive could be to eat giant alien plants that are in the other dimension. Giant creatures have existed on Earth before, just look at the scale of the dinosaurs, compared to the humans, they are really enormous.
For those who saw the film this was what was sitting on top of the supermarket that blocked the generator exhaust pipe and what snached up the the bagger boy.
@lyrrad999 If you get the blueray version and pause at the right time you can see that it is missing an end of one of the tenticles. towards the front or head of the creature. The end that he chopped off. Also they give a clue of it when the supermarket experiences the violent earthquake like shaking they had before going to the back of the store.
@newton3010 Goood to know, i don't see a missing tentacle but tentacles give me the clue of what was that thing in supermarket with his sadistic tentacles.
This isn't right. The monster is supposed to be so big that you just looks up at it, and you just see the bottom of its feet. It is supposed to be so tall that its almost out of the atmoshpear. Its supposed to give you that question: "if that thing is out of the atmosphere, what the point of out existance." And it kind of makes you give up hope. I guess it was better for the movie if u can see the whole thing just to make it overwhelm you.
You are alone.. This film does, "that" well if you know what I am getting at as well as being a subtle nod to the Vikings preferred method of attack. That said however, why are the power lines still standing as the creature moves away when you saw it stomp through them several seconds earlier? Perhaps the creatures from the movie Batteries Not Included are from the same dimension these creatures came from and they reconstructed them between shots?
@Magnolia296 just because you felt sorry for some guy in a story doesnt mean the movie was bad dipshit, it just means you're a pussy. just dont watch the movie if you felt that sorry for him, THATS WHY EVERYONE THOUGHT THE MOVIE SUCKED.
its not meant to be realistic, its meant to overwhelm you, as it would if you were really there. It's so incredibly large to create a sense of hopelessness.
@Psychology Because they stayed in the car they attack by smell if you are in a building or a car they cant smell you so you become invisible thats why they didnt attack the store even when that Giant Mantis came and snatched up that military guy, it kept walking after it killed him.
How could a creature like that survive? It would have to consume probably 60,000 tons of food daily. According to the Stephen King story, a blue whale would seem like a trout when compared to this creature, and it leaves six feet deep footprints the size of an SUV.
@Frowned it's not so much about the food, creature of this size would be so heavy it couldn't stand nor move, or it would be literally crushed by gravity... there's a reason why dinosaurs could grow only so much, and why the biggest land animal we know -elephant- is smaller than blue whale by several levels of magnitude.
@Mandrak789 I wouldn't put any limits on evolution bud. Before we thought that all life needed sunlight to survive, and yet there are varieties of creatures living on the deepest parts of the ocean floor, and right on top of volcanic vents non the less. Futalognkosaurus dukei grew to 111ft long, which is larger than the blue whale, and Supersaurus grew to an estimated 130ft long. So don't count your eggs before they're layed.
@RenegadeArms09 I agree, but bear in mind that even possibly the largest known land animal that ever walked the Earth (Argentosaurus with its 80-90 tons) was indeed longer, but also at least two times lighter than modern blue whale (around 200 tons). It's the weight that counts here, and laws of physics are limiting factor for growing. This 'Mist' creature might easily live on some other smaller planet with less gravity, though.
@Mandrak789 i like how people compare unknown life to the same rigid set of rules we say life can exist by. the creatures in this movie come from another dimension. Our laws of physics don't apply.

That thing is so huge, so what was its motive? To eat a human? It looked like an elephant at first till i noticed the entire thing.

@jcdenton100 It didn't have a motive. You should watch the movie. You wont regret it.

The Mist is one of the weakest horror movies ever made - bad acting, very predictable story line and ending, not scary at all...
The Fog was much, much and much better!!!
