Daigo is a League champion and the world champion wow i have skillz and am still not yet the best in the caribbean region dam i hope daigo is still alive when am ready to face him on the at evolution championship series
@stryfetc Why not?Sportists earn all the money/praise in the world and its not much different.Sports started as a game to recreate yourself,to have fun and now money in them is ridiculous. So why wouldn't E-Sports get same attention? They are getting more and more loads of e-sports with big money on both pcs and consoles, stream coverage as they deserve.
ivve yet to play daigo. i tknow hes the best but i think like rufus. ive never played at evo but ive played the best around an im not fadaed. im not bragging either, im just anxious to try the self proclaimed GOD myself. his moves dont faze me. ive seen better. you would be surprised how many off line players have more skill than on youtube. pathetic really.
Whats so amazing he is some kid who just picked up sf liked it and kept playing. Its nothing special his skill is but the idea and the history is nothing special. Its not like he had to save the world and still have time for sf.
@LordThanatos80 only generally because online play suffers uncontrollable things like lag. in a 60fps game like sf4, 1 second delay makes an astronomical difference so competitive play online is usually dismissed. Maybe it will be fixed in time but right now internet connections are not ideal for competitive play. I still enjoy the arcade culture vs. online/anonymity. there is more collaboration and less... shit talk :)
Does anyone know if Daigo actually lives off of money from fighting game tournaments or does he have a job as well? I know next to nothing about tournaments in Japan as far as how often they happen and how big they are.
@TritoneMcgee As far as I know, he has a day job and he plays at the arcades (Taito Station BIG BOX) at night with all the pros. I don't think Japanese pro-players make that much money off of the games, knowing that the winning team-of-two in SBO only wins like $300!
However, I think in the US they make a lot... I think Justin Wong is like signed to Empire Arcadia and they pay him to show up for events and stuff and he also gets money by winning tournaments.
@0xkeNzo Uploading the stuff you upload is more than enough. I understood most of it, but I'm not very fluent in Japanese so I scratch my head a few times trying to make out some stuff.

I really don't understand how arcades can still exist?
I mean when I was really really young arcades were popular ONLY CAUSE there was no internet / not that many PC's (at least in my country).
If you have a pc + internet connection ... why would you go an arcade where you have to pay for credits for every battle ?
LordThanatos80 1 year ago
@LordThanatos80 You just dont get it. you grew up in a different culter and generation....You could never understand.
IceSick88 1 year ago
@IceSick88
Actually when I was 8-12 arcades were very popular in my country too.
Me and many friend would play games there but come on ... that time has passed.
I mean it's not like anyone fights to death in galdiator pits right ...
What is the purpose of PAYING PER GAME, staying at a cabinet and not a keyboard and lining up just to see OTHERS PLAY,
I mean sure ... in the PAST when we DIDN'T HAVE INTERNET, that was great ... but NOW they are OBSOLETE
