@yankeegirl06497 Hi! It is up to you how often you cowash. I haven't heard anyone mention that cowashing more helped with knots/tangles. maybe if ur using lots of products but i think washing once a week is fine.
Oh man, I have been having this issue and you know, I think you are right. I will try this on my wash day, Monday, and I hope it helps. I will also do a trim because I think I still have a few relaxed end straggling around from my BC.
@luvlywone It worked out well, but even now i still do have what i feel are excess knots. I'm thinking for the time being, I'd like to go into protective styling. The way my hair knots is that the ends specifically are joining and knoting and i can't figure why? My last detangle was pretty bad but that was my fault because i didn't detangle properly the week before so i had it coming. lol But prior to that i think i've been alright. Yea, there are tangles but certainly not like before.
i found that if i finger combed my hair with my daily cowashes, it made my hair less tangled througout the week and it also made my detangles at the end of the week much better. i would just do a light finger comb while the conditioner was end. also, trimming my ends made my ends tangle less.
Thanks so much for sharing your video. I just did a video on knots and tangles, and im having a time when ever i wear my hair out! Thanks again. God bless.
Oooohhh, the rinse should be done after the baking soda because the baking soda is what's cleansing and removing the buildup off of ur scalp. The baking soda is alkaline so it will raise your cuticle and open up your hair shaft. The acv rinse brings ur scalp's ph back to normal and will shut the cuticle back down. Next time u can just reverse the two.
I only shampoo once a week with a swimmer's shampoo from Aubrey Organics. i follow with a deep condition. i cowash with conditioner daily
Good news! I did the ACV Rinse then the Baking Soda and conditioner today and my hair is super duper soft, manageable, tangle and knot free! I am loving it! This will become a staple in my regimen for sure :-)
I know it! To answer your question, I do the rinse before the baking soda instead of using actual shampoo to cleanse. I am seriously considering going to the no-poo method of cleansing. I really like the results after the rinse.
Thanks for the info! I've tried the baking soda and conditioner mix and the acv rinse on separate days and love the results individually but i will be trying them both today as well as my hand at clipping my ends. Thanks again!!
ur welcome. if those don't work for you, you might want to purchase a clarifying shampoo. Some people don't notice differences in their hair with one method so they try the other. So, if ur hair doesn't feel completely clean after the baking soda, try getting a shampoo instead. I also mix my baking soda with my conditioner when I do it so try that as well. It allows for better application of the baking soda and better moisture for ur hair with the conditioner.
Oh, and if u use baking soda, u must follow up with the acv rinse because the baking soda throws off the ph balance of ur hair. The acv rinse restores it and it also closes the cuticles on the hair shaft. rinse with cool water. i hope those knots go lessen for you!
This video was right on time! My hair has been knoting up the last couple of days and luckily today was my deep conditioner day (which is also my detangling day) -- I don't have a clarifying shampoo, but I will be going out and getting one now!! Thanks again for the tip.
very true. I wish i'd done it sooner, as well. there were a few girls in college who were natural. Their hair was so thick and pretty. I just thought they had "good hair". My hair was looking thin and oily. Wish I'd known then what i know now. Just glad to have found out in the end.
I love getting to know my hair and how to handle it...shame I had to wait (waste) so many years with a perm...my only regret to going natural is that I didn't do it SOONER! I am 41 and wish I was much younger having attained this truth.
you sound like u hv been running ur fingers in MY head! i have those little knots and wondered what in the world is happening! Iused to laff and say that the ends are having a war! :) thanks for the help...i will try that ASAP!
thanks for the vid.. ive been having the same problem gonna try this technique!!

for me, it was more like my knots were going to war with my hands, comb, denman or whatever I used to detangle :)
luvlywone 2 years ago
please do. it is so frustrating to have knots everywhere and they are SO hard to get out without just ripping or cutting them off.
luvlywone 2 years ago
Hi Luvlyone, I have the same problem. I think I'll do a baking soda w/condish and ACV . I'll let you know my results. Keep it natural.
