DAZ is not what I expected at all. I like the program, but I'm making an rpg, any software sugestions that alow me to create compleatly CUSTOM creatures plants ect.
I already have Darkbasic stuff, so dont bother with that. Need help, look my group up on facebook at worldsapartfanrpg@groups.facebook.com thanks id really apreciate it.
Am i doing something wrong, or is it impossible to use Squares for sculpts? Everytime i upload the sculpt map it looks completely unsymetrical as if its been laying on a block of lava and ended up looking like a half molten thing that barely resembles what i see in Daz Hexagon.
So I need another program to texture things??? come on!!!, how many hours do you think normal ppl have in their lifes to learn new programs...??? ¬_¬ mmm!!!
Daz = non intuitive, suck typical of most 3D packages. Question, can I import an OBJ I made in the uber awesomeness of Zbrush & then export as a sculpty through Hexagon without having to have the "proper" number of polys already set. Zbrush rocks for sculpties but we have to convert our prims to 32x32 polymeshes before we sculpt meaning detail is nearly impossible.
If there's one thing second life isn't, it's kids games. In fact it's most popular with "common folk" (aka the unwashed masses) for virtual sex. I dislike that rep though, as I use it as a creative outlet and make money doing so (as do many, many others), but if I mention SL to most people I get lumped in with "them".
just got hexagon today, almost free, cover disc off 3d world magazine, have had daz for about 2 months interested in making clothes for characters even though my modeling skills sofar suck, big time! curious about second life though, is it like IMVU? a virtual 3d chat room? that sucks, all you get is insults about being a noob from teenagers that I wish I could punch up! tend to stick to forums, most people really kind and helpful. might look into secondlife next month, cheers anyway, wendy
Holy crap, I feel like such a noob. I've had Hexagon for quite some time & never even realized there was a Second Life tab in there. LOL. I've barely used Hexagon, but still... duh! I've been using all those crappy freeware programs this whole tie & had a good, easy to use program all along. Damn
i make a car part in hexagon and export it as a sl sculpt but when i upload it to sl it has a strange shape. can someone pls help me. i really tried a lot of times but the shape i make won`t remain the same after i import it to sl and if i open it in hexagon it is like in sl. the shape won`t stay how i save it. pls some help
I think it's odd that people get so worked up over nothing online. I'd suggest some more fiber or anger management to you! Someone was a smartass... time for a throw down!
Back on topic... Thanks for the tutorial. Helped me get started in no time!
Can you read? You are an ass, I think it is odd that people in RL would not even dare to talk to someone in this manner, if you want to talk me like in RL then lets meet and say that shit to my face and see how fast you get your ass kicked.
i brought this latest software from the daz 3d site. i followed the instructions of this video. but when i looked at my prim in second life, it looked nothing like what i created. is there any other vidoes that explain things in more detail?
i downloaded DAZ Studio 2.0 and 2.1 and both do not have what i see there i can pick secondlife tab and all that and mine looks nothing like that program your runing there pls help me i need to know how to get this plssss
hello This this great, pleasure you already have a tutorial made for Hexagon, I purchased it and will play a bit I am a Secondlifer and a follower of Torleys videos thank you for this
Friendly greetings, DAZ gurus!! I heard about this good news from some Second Life blog sites. I'm Torley and I make video tutorials for Linden Lab... infact, I just did one covering sculpties with Sculptypaint. It's frustrating not having easier paths for newcomers to do sculpted prims, but this looks compelling.
Just wanted to say I appreciate you making video tutorials for this and I do hope to try this out for myself. Email me, torley at lindenlab dotcom if you'd like to chat!
A problem. When i try to upload maps, they appear broken. any help please?

is that all "second life" is - stuff for kids games? Or is there more to it
HelleRita 2 years ago
Second life is not a kids game. There is a teen grid but the main adult grid is a 3d virtual world were people can live lives they only dreamed of.
