maybe u are using the wrong technique

there are lots of details that u must watch

and probably u will have helath problems using the worng technique

i've watched lots of moeller demonstrations on youtube, and they all talk about this whip followed by a huge rebound. i must be using a very dead drum because i can't get more than maybe 10-15cm of rebound, no matter how hard i hit the drum.

@vladtepes97 Then you're not relaxed enough! Don't be necessarily loose, just relaxed. A good exercise is to just hit the drum naturally and let the stick rebound all the way up to get used to feeling relaxed. If the stick doesn't rebound all the way, and become perpendicular to the playing surface, then you aren't relaxed enough...
