Pronger was skating to the puck in the corner follwed by Kesler. After being hit by Kesler, Pronger made the attempt to skate away and re-join the play but was tangled with Keslers feet/skates/legs whatever you wanna call it..and out of i guess frustration stepped on him.

No no, I completely get what you're saying. And you're right! You're 100% correct. But, ask yourself, could both plays have resulted in SERIOUS injury? The answer: yes. Of course the Simon incident was worse because there was particularly maliciousness to his incident, and he'd just finished serving a 25-game suspension. Was Simon's stomp worse? Yes. I just thought a 22-game difference in punishment was too wide of a gap. You're right though, I just think we're both right.

Sorry steve but tlusty isnt that good... at least not yet. He is a huge defensive liability and not enough offensive talent to outweigh that. Im not a stat hound, im just going by what i see during the game. The leafs havent been trying to tank which is why he doesnt see much ice, but you cant give him props for being even when hes only on the ice for 3 mins.(last vid i think)

And if you gave newbery the choice... 3 mins in the nhl or 20 in the minors, take a guess at what he'd choose.

The reason they gave for only giving Pronger 8 games, was that the player that he "stepped" on(Kessler), was trying to trip him up while laying on the ice at Pronger's feet. When you watch the video you can clearly see Kessler, who is a rat of a player, trying to wrap his legs around Pronger's skates.

Tlusty may have scored a goal last night, but he looked REAL bad in his own end. He has for some time. Both he and Newbury, and Williams for that matter, look out of place in their own end. In short they look like AHL players, filling in for injured(or traded) NHL players.

I hope Raycroft plays now, that will certainly help our draft position, then in the off-season we wave bye-bye to Kubina, Raycroft, Tucker and Blake. The Leafs are one of the few teams that can afford to correct there past mistakes.

I have never liked Chris Pronger and it is an embarrassement that he played Jr.B for my hometown. He did not get as severe a punishment because he did it during game play while in the moment and made it look like a struggle. Also, if he had pulled that stunt earlier in the season, he would have gotten longer. It's seanson end so they were lenient. Grrrr..

I think Pronger should have got more, but i can kind of see Colin Campbell's side of things. Simon's attack was after the whistle and was certaintly intent to injure. Pronger, looked as if he was trying to get away from Kesler and back into the play, but the extra stomp wasn't necessary. I hope that Campbell did not take into account the fact that Pronger is a star player and give him less games. I personally think he should've recieved more games. 15-20 at least.

The Pronger thing, another guy I know said he thought is was an accident. That's dumb. If it was an accident, he wouldn't step down on him. I think it also got a single digit game number because it is nearing playoff time, and they cut down on games near the end of the season. Like last year when Pronger was suspended twice in the playoffs.
