It's not Yui you have to ask for the lyrics for. She's just the singer. It's Yoko Kanno that composed this song and its language. Check out Yoko Kanno's sing for japanese tsunami/earthquake thing. She's not a bad singer herself.
It sounds closer to French than Latin to me. French did come from Latin, yes, but it seems to me to have more characteristics of French. Just my opinion though.
Lizard's tail Dew in the night Silent night Sunlight A drop of mermaid's tear The shadow of dead people The pain of living people The joy of darkness The madness of light Let us become one Let's engulf ourselves in a beautiful lace (Altadimana Cinqadimana) By an edge of the shadow I'm pulled into darkness I gave a scream (Altadimana Cinqadimana) I'm crazy because of the Silence Aquarion, Aquarion ????!!!! Is this song originally JAPANESE OR NOT?!
The song itself is a mixture of different languages. I can pick up on some Japanese... I'm sure there is some Latin and possibly another... but considering I have found zilch on that particular mixing of languages I cannot be sure. The translation, however, is out there.
Its a made up language called gabblish.. its said to be close to latin, thats why it sounds latin but its not, thats also why you'll probably never find a translation for this song unless you ask Yui herself.
Wow, I never knew that Yui Makino had a hobby of making up languages...No wonder she and Yuki Kajiura got together for the songs in TRC, how alike they are! :D

leent meaning lion in latin is a reference to Sakhmet an egytian goddess, she is seen as the "Avenger of Wrongs" and "the Scarlet Lady"(reference to celions hair color?) but more importantly she is seen as the bringer of disease as well as the provider of cures to such ills. such as with the case of solar wing leaving the shadow angels and causing such grief and bringing about the slow end to the tree of life, and as the cure to it by resolving the conflict between appolonius, sirius and toma
Meno is a greek reference to Plato's "Meno's Paradox" ending with "Plato subsequently discusses his own theory of knowledge through Socrates, that it is "recollection" from the past lives of the immortal soul." which describes appolo's conflict through the entire series of who he really is. there is alot more dealing with Meno's Paradox however throughout the entire anime.

@xEnominex u'd actually be surprised if u place the syllables in the right place when translating, i can verify that it is indeed 100% latin, i spent almost all day yesterday playing around with the syllables an where to break the words listening to the song with the volume up high to hear every little critiqued pronunciation
also, if u switch the word halta with alta the translation changes to "deeply of the manna" instead of "halter of the manna" if that makes anymore sense, mana and manna have different translations based on where the commas fall in place. u can play around with the commas in the translation box and it dramatically affects the sentences

It's a made up language. But it does have a meaning. For those who speak Japanese: トカゲのしっぽ 夜の露 静かな闇夜 陽の光 人魚の涙のひとしずく 死せる者の影 生ける者の苦しみ 闇の喜び 光の狂気 みんなまとめてひとつにしましょ きれいなレースで包みましょ (アルタディマーナ シンカディマーナ) 高い脚の影ひとつ 闇に呑まれて 悲鳴を上げる (アルダディマーナ シンカディマーナ) 静かに狂え アクエリオン アクエリオン
i think that it's latin, some words sounds and are written like in latin like omna (but it must be omnia not omna) wich it means everything and magni wich it means great or big..but i'm not really sure if it's really latin or a sort of latin language..
Yui Makino...isn't she the same girl who sang Synchronicity from Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations and did Sakura's voice from the Japanese dub of the whole Tsubasa series (anime/OVAs/OADs)? I love her voice. It's so childishly sweet. Almost innocent sounding.
@AvaXTC unfortunately you are wrong the song is half in German its original is 3 min long and it doesn't start the German portion until 1: 43 and the first part seems to be a mixture of Russian, Japanese, and i think a little latin,
@buger98346 i would love to hear the full version you have if u can post it, if not then i suggest you go back and look at my posts, because i spent a week with google language tools deciphering it, its atleast 90% pure latin no other language even came close to translating word for word. until you can provide sufficient evidence, including having watched the entire anime series to understand what its about, my translations are the closest to what the song conveys. im not saying its 100% right.
Yoko Kanno likes writing lyrics in false languages. In this case as well. It is neither Japanese or Latin. She does it so well. It's hypnotic in each case.
This is actually not any particular language.. they came up with the words themselves.. so trying to translate this song is going to be near impossible because to everyone this song has a different meaning.
I love this song *.* but I laugh so hard everytime she says hora xD because that means Bitch in swedish, it´s good that it´s sounding like she is saying hola, instead of hora ^.^
its latin....DeaD LanguaGe Lizard's tail Dew in the night Silent night Sunlight A drop of mermaid's tear ... The shadow of dead people The pain of living people The joy of darkness The madness of light Let us become one Let's engulf ourselves in a beautiful lace (Altadimana Cinqadimana) By an edge of the shadow I'm pulled into darkness I gave a scream (Altadimana Cinqadimana) I'm crazy because of the Silence Aquarion, Aquarion
@oldnaruto1013 You guys, I think it goes differently. Um, the word halta sounds like alta in spanish while manna sounds like manana, meaning morning. So the lines might be, "Early in the morning." While the second part may go, "Five in the morning." Maybe she's talking about spiritual activity, the time from three in the morning to five in the morning. Just saying. I don't think it's your lyrics, but it's just my wee opinion.
Lizard tail Evening mist A quiet dark night Sunlight A drop of mermaid's tears Shadows of the Dead Suffering of the living Joy Darkness Light Madness All together in one Wrap in a clean race One shadow of the high leg Being swallowed by darkness Scream Quietly crazy Aquarion Aquarion
This is the same style of singing Lisa Gerrard does. Its gibberish. Basicly you sing pure emotions or state of mind. You can pick up random others words from other lanuages or make it sound like another language... but in the end their just made up and the main focus is feeling
I don't know what kind of schools you did, but you cannot fool an italian guy who studied latin and greek for 5 years, and can still write and read them quite well.
And sometimes i still use it being a medis, so no bullshitting please.
@AhrimaOfTheLight sorry for insulting such a well educated asshole :) but it is latin smart ass. she took many different languages (latin being one of them) and mixed them together to make her own type of language...but technically it's gibberish i guess, which is what she tends to be known for. oh and out of curiosity whats a medis?
Damn, being gibberish or mixed languages is not enough to categorize a song as latin, as if someone tells "Bring me a pizza, please..." and saying that's italian due to the word PIZZA...we were arguing about nothing...
Medis...ehm I meant medic, a little typing "horror" ;-)

i think that it's latin, some words sounds and are written like in latin like omna (but it must be omnia not omna) wich it means everything and magni wich it means great or big..but i'm not really sure if it's really latin or a sort of latin language..

I like how this isn't any a language. It sounds so pretty and mysterious.
But I do think it was heavily based on the Romance Languages.
Especially Italian. <3

It's in a fictional Language. The artist is well known for making up languages for her songs.

AvaXTC 1 year ago 53
@AvaXTC unfortunately you are wrong the song is half in German its original is 3 min long and it doesn't start the German portion until 1: 43 and the first part seems to be a mixture of Russian, Japanese, and i think a little latin,
buger98346 11 months ago
@buger98346 i would love to hear the full version you have if u can post it, if not then i suggest you go back and look at my posts, because i spent a week with google language tools deciphering it, its atleast 90% pure latin no other language even came close to translating word for word. until you can provide sufficient evidence, including having watched the entire anime series to understand what its about, my translations are the closest to what the song conveys. im not saying its 100% right.

Yoko Kanno likes writing lyrics in false languages. In this case as well. It is neither Japanese or Latin. She does it so well. It's hypnotic in each case.

This is actually not any particular language.. they came up with the words themselves.. so trying to translate this song is going to be near impossible because to everyone this song has a different meaning.
princessnevermor5 1 year ago
I love this song *.* but I laugh so hard everytime she says hora xD because that means Bitch in swedish, it´s good that it´s sounding like she is saying hola, instead of hora ^.^

oldnaruto1013 1 year ago
@oldnaruto1013 You guys, I think it goes differently. Um, the word halta sounds like alta in spanish while manna sounds like manana, meaning morning. So the lines might be, "Early in the morning." While the second part may go, "Five in the morning." Maybe she's talking about spiritual activity, the time from three in the morning to five in the morning. Just saying. I don't think it's your lyrics, but it's just my wee opinion.

This is the same style of singing Lisa Gerrard does. Its gibberish. Basicly you sing pure emotions or state of mind. You can pick up random others words from other lanuages or make it sound like another language... but in the end their just made up and the main focus is feeling

@BloodxOfxBlack
I don't know what kind of schools you did, but you cannot fool an italian guy who studied latin and greek for 5 years, and can still write and read them quite well.
And sometimes i still use it being a medis, so no bullshitting please.
AhrimaOfTheLight 1 year ago
@AhrimaOfTheLight sorry for insulting such a well educated asshole :) but it is latin smart ass. she took many different languages (latin being one of them) and mixed them together to make her own type of language...but technically it's gibberish i guess, which is what she tends to be known for. oh and out of curiosity whats a medis?
BloodxOfxBlack 1 year ago
@BloodxOfxBlack

@AhrimaOfTheLight oh wow, medic? damn, i probably should have figured that out x_x. lol but your right
