The whole idea is ridiculous: Why would God send an angel to speak to only ONE man, so that he had to fight to convince others of God's message. God would have revealed himself to many people, not just one. A lot of death could have been avoided. I do not know about the authenticity of these narrations, but even if they are true, its nothing for us to be embarrassed about. Believers in God believe that miracles happen, so you cannot just rule it out as superstition. You may not believe it, but that's OK. We all should respect one-another's beliefs.

Education and counseling - and in some cases, drugs - help keep marriages together without resorting to such barbaric practices. So, it's true that stopping adultery is good for families and society. Stoning is an immoral way to stop adultery.

The whole idea is ridiculous: Why would God send an angel to speak to only ONE man, so that he had to fight to convince others of God's message. God would have revealed himself to many people, not just one. A lot of death could have been avoided. And, if the Qur'an were a more impressive book, it might have convinced more people that it was written by God and not a 7th century Arab tyrant.

There is one narration in the book Usul al-Kafi of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (SAWW) speaking to his donkey, Uthayr and another in Sahih al-Bukhari of him speaking to a cow. I do not know about the authenticity of these narrations, but even if they are true, its nothing for us to be embarrassed about. Believers in God believe that miracles happen, so you cannot just rule it out as superstition. You may not believe it, but that's OK. We all should respect one-another's beliefs.

@aa42217 That is not how civilized people behave. That was savage even by the standards of the day. And, if he was truly a man of God he would not have to resort to that kind of violence. For example, Americans would condemn a general who did such things. General Robert E. Lee would never have done such a thing. Once men laid down their arms or were captured, the were sent to prison camps. This violence is evidence that Muhammad made all of this up. God is more powerful than that.

Abortion is actually good for society (lowers population and crime rate), and morally OK if the fetus if its brain is not too developed. Malaria and cholera kill more people than all the sexually transmitted diseases combined. AIDS is not our biggest problem. A civilized society is full of what you would call sin, because humans are flawed.

@aa42217 The Torah is a confusing set of rules written by ancient Israelites who didn't understand how the human brain works. Adultery IS a problem, but stoning adulterers is a bad solution. Education and counseling - and in some cases, drugs - help keep marriages together without resorting to such barbaric practices. So, it's true that stopping adultery is good for families and society. Stoning is an immoral way to stop adultery.

It IS a terrible thing to get pregnant from adultery, but killing someone doesn't help the situation. BIRTH CONTROL is the best solution for all of this. Birth control drugs should be free to all women starting at puberty. That will keep children from suffering from their parents' mistakes.

I don't believe Muhammad was an evil man, it's just the rumors that have been around lately but either way, I wouldn't agree that Muhammad was a messenger of a God either, at best I would describe him as a Man who took the opportunity to unify the tribes against others of his time in the name of "Religion.

Perhaps some did, but in fact many joined in. There is the famous Azerbajani Brigade, and no less a figure than Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin el-Husseini who was Hitler's man in the middle east. Muslim's never invaded a non-muslim country? I guess that whole line I was fed about the Moors and the Ottoman Empire was a myth.

Religion teaches sectarianism and about how to submit to injustices for oneself for their own treatment & of infidels/heretics. That's what I believe and I also believe that forced indoctrination of children into these sects sometimes condoned by political authority, are the main reason for your aforementioned crimes. I reckon that very few of any state leaders lose sleep,actually.

There's far better stories available to help with learning good morals & these stories do not promote sectarian violence. Neither do these stories ever suggest that you'll be condemned to a hell of eternal pain of torture, sounds like something that the fictional @ 'satan' would do.

@aydtrue hell is very real man, but so is heaven. Give a little people less fortunate and god gives so much more. He states in the qurran that he will one day on s simple 'friday' cuse havoc and destruction, by folding up the world like a carpet and ending the time of man (Gudgement Day). Hence the reason Muslims have friday prayers, because when the time comes the dis-believers realise that Islam (becoming god's creation and slave to his comands) is the only way.

I expect the same in return then a good ambiance of mutual respect is the result. Theists however, believe that they have the god given right to physically impose their fictitious nonsense on everyone else. I may have done some things that Muhammed may not have approved of, but like I say there is no allah or god.

The Koran is like a children's fantasy book with the exception of the evil commands in there, like the god given right to murder people who are not muslim and how to treat your slaves. @aydtrue we are all created by Islam, for it was 'ADAM' the first prophet and being on earth's very religion. God gave us islam because it means "to give yourself up to god (allah the almighty and post praise worthy) and obey his commands". Some humane philosophical truths which I can relate to are in the Abrahamic books. I believe these truths are taken & stated from mankinds evolutionary thought for mutual cooperation over 100,000 years which makes us all successful creatures. Maybe Muhammed added some good philosophical truths too

I believe that he uses the malevolent nature of the non existent god as described in the bible to justify his actions. Then teaches his own commands to condone them as sanctioned by such that is an unbeknown god, that only he can know. Were the Israelites that started your religion were slaves too?

The earth doesn't have enough resources because we get the most important resource from the sun. We are having to produce genetically modified food in order to keep the world population alive today & yet still many people starve to death. I feel sympathetic for her cause & I have very little sympathy for Israel or Hamas causes, for both promote hatred & violence in the name of an unproven God. So what you saying is that he murdered anyone who wouldn't agree with his commands? But if you did exactly as he commands, he would not hit raise his hand to you (probably got someone else to kill you). If there actually was a god, why would god write a book? I'd imagine that a being so powerful could simply transmit the will of god directly into the mind. And why would the god put trust in a warlord who's main aim was to spread his message by choice of either converting or being executed?
