@69mrjkjkjk what do you meen bye nice crisp pop? I own bothe a 2008 kx250f and a yz250f, and i could easily tell you the difference.....just need to know your definition of a nice crisp pop?
If you like YAMAHA YZ250fs you will love the kx 250f, the KAWASAKI KX250f basically feels like a YAMAHA handling whise but the KX has a stronger engine, I top out my yz going 5th gear in straight aways but on the KX i still have power to spare. I currently have a YZ 250f but i look forward to get a kx250f
should a get a 2007 yz250f with 2 grand worth of upgrades ( lik hydroulic clutch, graphics tires and pipe.. no inermotor work though) --$3600.. or a 2008 yz250f with dr.d pipe and asv levers--$2900. both bikes are used and the 2007 was barly ridden lik 50 hrs. the 2008 was raced hard but theres a new top and bottom end
i got an 08 brand new and i love it but the only complaint ive had is the front brake rotor is 2 seperate pieces and it like flexes a lot and my front caliper is a little loose now and the bikes a month old, but i gotta play with it still to work shit out.
all you nhave to worry about is if you can touch the peggs with good room to spair...see your not gonna be riding ith your feet touching the ground right, try to get a 06'or newer 250f they are so smooth
Chad dont take advice off people who dont race. Youll be fine on a big bike. I was 5'6" 140lbs when I got my first 125. Youre definitely too big for an 80, the 250F is going to work you but youll get the hang of it. I would definitely suggest riding a 250F first though.
chad i would wait i'm 5'3 140 pounds farmboy all muscle i rode a suzuki rm80 2 stroke and moved up to 07 yamaha yz250f and to big for me. wait a lil longer it is strong bike i love it but. it lot of power from little engine for u. I also have the racing model.
yes defenitly go with the yamaha 250f i was in the same position you are a year ago, i was 5 4 and 130, i decided to go with the sxf 250, had it lowerd half inch and i was golden
Chad, the 250 will do fine but you'll have to get used to the 250's sensitive power going from an 85cc to a 250cc. I'm 5'7 and even when I was 130 lbs I rode 2-stroke 250's and an XR500.
top speed is always determined by gearing....(what size sprockets you use in most cases) but a stock yz2f pinned in 5th will probably reach in the mid 60's....pretty fast in the dirt
dont you have anything better to do than say stupid things on youtube? if you dont have any ideah how fast a bike goes, DONT SAY ANYTHING!!! Why dont you go outside and spend moretime riding your pw 50.
hey mxhonda dirtbike god/guru....we here in the civilized world spell words correctly. also, could you please stop calling me names like "dick brain" in the unwanted emails you send?. i didn't ask for your opions of me or the dirtbikes i own. where did they grow you anyway?
ive rode both...450f and 250f...both brand new...450 likes to go!!!...250 more nimble in tight spots where 450 would probably stall....im 48, been riding my whole life and i jump further now than ever...on my 250....like to ride wheelies too, 450 will pull-up in any gear without bouncing it up....250 in 5th...ya gotta bounce it a little....no biggie....both have enough to climb anything...it's skill that will prevail there....id get the 250 overall
thats not true, height is a big part. I don't use cm since I live in America but I am 6' 3" and I have a 2006 yz250f. I was feeling cramped so I bought higher rise protaper bars and the new complete protaper triple clamps. I am much more comfortable now. The inch I may have raised makes a big difference.
yeah, if your too big for the bike like i am, ive got an 01 kx80 bigwheel and im 5' 10", whenever i ride it i feel like im leaning over the handlebars. but i can ride my friends yz250 two stroke just fine and my feet barely touch the groud.
i think anyone can ride a big bike just as long as they're comfortable with the power.
what are you talking about?? like a street bike? i doubt you would own them and it would only be because the engines on those things are like four times the size then on these bikes, and you would look like the biggest tool riding one haha! plus id like to see you jump one..
My bad, man! I know! I was joking! I didn't knew so many would take me seriously, Ducati is a GP bike, so very different compared to this ones. I was testing your vigillance. Anyway, thank for not letting me competing in a motocross champ with a GP bike!!!
Rossi is the best and he should stay with yamaha no matter what. Seeing as how he gets paid a 19million dollar salary for just riding the bike. He would switch to ducati if they could offer him something like that.
I find it quite amusing that RepsolRC211V says that cr's have had alloy frames for 9 years longer. Think about this, if it wasnt for yamaha back in 1998 when they started the whole 4 stroke revolution and beat everyone(it wasnt till 02 that honda got the crf 450r and till o4 for the 250f , there wouldnt be no 4 stroke motocross bikes. If it wasnt for yamahas innovation we would all still be riding two smokers.
true, and who cares about the aluminum frame? haha i heard aluminum frames boost performance guys!!! xD atleast yami's don't need the valve clearances checked every 5 hours x.x
I have to laugh at this comment. 5 valves suck? I'm sorry but your ignorence is showing here. Hondas eat there vavles, ask yourself, how many vavle adjustments or replacments have you done? if none your a spode and should shut it. Yamaha's have been the most durable engine bar none... pick up ANY magazine and read once in awhile.
Motorcycle-USA make every year a MX 250F Shootout test, and the CRF is winner for 2008. It is the lightest bike on test (~2kg lightest than YZF), most powerfull and have more torgue than the YZFs,RM-Zs, KXFs, and CRF250 R8 have the fuel cut on the higher RPMs than other 250Fs.
skyler. wtf are you talking about, honda #1 in every class?? stewart-supercross and supercross gp champion. villopotto-supercross west coast champion. townley-supercross east coast champion. and they all ride kawasaki..
my bike has ALOT more power than that one prolly. mine was factory built by team Yamaha. its the 06 YZ250F 50th Anniversary edition. its insane just as fast as the 450 my dad rides.
u wish man 50th anniversary bikes are exact the same exept for the plastics same motor sanem suspension just differ3ent colours and the 08 is the fastest yet by a mile and if u can beat ur dads 450 it must suck!!
are you joking? my friend has a cr125 1986 and he drives it all day with no antifreeze and he hasnt changed his oil for 3 years and he doesnt have an air filter.. it still starts first or second kick
Will then your friends bike might need to be took in for a shit load of repairs or something cause if you can crive a 2 stroke with no anti freeze then your not riding a 2 stroke right.
i thought they were going away to, but thanks to ktms 144sx they just got better, they are raced along with the 250fs but still not as good but better then a 125, ama change the limit of how far they can be bored out to 153 maybe ktm will make a 153sx if so 250fs are going to have a run for there money!
the only good thing about honda is that theyre reliable.. no one wants a bike that will make you lose and last a million years rather than a bike that will win a race and last a year and need a little tune up

In MX450 class, CRF450R is winner too. CRF450 is the DIRK BIKE OF THE YEAR for 2004,05,06,07,08.
Thumpertalk MX and Transworld Motocross also make a 250F & 450 Shootout and CRFs also win.
In the end, CRF is the beautiful bike, Yamaha is most ugly. They have alu frame in 2006, CR have in 1997. 9 year diference.
I am not speaking English well, sorry on language mistakes.
