  • people can say what they want about ronnie james dio, rob halford, bruce dickerson, robert plant, ozzy, james hetfield, ect...but ill always put GEOFF TATE as MY #1 vocalist

  • awesome amazing voice

  • Awsome song, best vocalist, hale the ryche!

  • very good queensrycghe tune :)

  • Has anyone mention Mr. Midnight ? If no...do listen to his work.

  • for some reason they used ray alder, love his stuff too. saw em at at a bar in the 80s. they amazed me , i talken about fates warning. i like ray alder i met him he s real laid back. .they opened for dream theatre and queensryche in tulsa ok. very cool showw. i love the ryche but dream theatre was awsome. what a show. danny hyde loves it.

  • not bad, grate song

  • @MrSomeonestolmyn...Midnight is dead they had his ceremony down at Siesta key in Sarasota a couple of month's ago.He had every bit as good a voice as Geoff but Queensryche is still great.

  • Roads to Madness is absolutely Queensrÿche's best song!

    A very, very strong song

  • Epic album. Have been listening to it since when it first came out and will never tire of it.

  • Man, just imagion if all these singers (plus Midnight and John Olivia)

    made a project together.

  • sweet shit! thank you very much

  • RIP Ronnie James Dio...

  • @boxingin holy .....

  • When I hear this I think of Midnight from Crimson Glory, to my ears his range was a notch better. But regardless I am always impressed with Dio's voice.

  • I can totally relate to these lyrics. Too much spiritual and occult awareness while living in this world is pain.

  • Geoff Tate is hands down one of the most talented singers ever. His vocal range is extremely impressive, along with the control he has over his voice. His voice sounds like a separate instrument on certain notes. Ridiculous! This song and Take Hold are my two favorites off of The Warning. Queensryche is one of the most amazing prog / hard rock bands ever!

  • @Pittsburghfan0621

Truly. He is one of the three great vocalists of metal, the others being Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford. There's no one else that can even compare (No, I don't think Michael Kiske is in their league).

  • @lzds2112 Kiske and Tate sound pretty similar IMHO.And you're forgetting Dio,Tony Martin,Ian Gillan,Eric Adams and Midnight.

  • @lzds2112 Dio and Eric Adams !!?!

    Can Compare

  • This song was my favorite off the Warning. Very awesome. The mixing was great and the emotional rollercoaster was insane. Some day maybe I will meet you and we will walk the roads to madness.

  • Tate could sing low or high and he still would generate attention because he is more than just a singer. He has soul to boot and he proves it here!

  • pretty nice Mike Kiske pics ;D

My 2 favorite singers Kiske and Tate

  • This song rocks at the 7:30 mark......

  • Tate is so soulful.

  • TATE number one man

  • Kiske forever!!!

  • Hahah I got a thumbs down for saying I wouldn't put Mistaine on any of my top lists.

Not that I give a damn about thumbs down, but to whoever did that: are you freaking serious? Hah, in a conversation about great vocalists like Tate, Dickinson, Kiske, Halford and others, there's a Mustaine lover.

    .

  • And what about Eric Adams - Manowar - Operatically trained 8 octave voice if I remember correctly. Kings of metal. And best lyricist eva - "Manowar, manowar, living on the road. When we're in town, speakers explode." RESPECT!

"Manowar - born to live forverer more!" Double RESPECT!

"Fighting the world every single day, fighting the world for the right to play." - Give that man a pulitzer. Triple RESPECT!!!!

  • Right. 125 octave...

  • Eric Adams is one-of-a-kind. I loved Manowar in the 80s, but even saying "8 octaves" is just silly. One of the greatest Metal vocalists, regardless.

  • Indeed, it's in fact 4 octaves, which is none the less VERY impressive.

Oh and he is my favourite vocalist.

  • It's not how many notes you can hit but what can you make people feel. That's why singers like Luther Vandross and Mick Jagger are so great. They made not have/had 50 octave voices but they have great tones and feel!

  • Agree, absolutely.

  • I agree with you there are MANY vocalists which are simply overlooked, but on their own cause a beautiful emotion to spring within people and that's why at least in their circles they are so popular, and it should let us know to open our minds a bit and hear the emotion and not just the music..

  • youre joking, right? eric is a good singer, but no way does he have an 8 octave voice. no one does. and those lyrics are pretty damn cheesy.

  • Don't forget John Arch from early Fate's Warning. That guy had an amazing voice!

  • I just love this song, its on my cd of operation livecrime as a live version. I'm curious thou, is this like a cover tune they did? It kind of has a style like Ronnie James Dio or Iron Maiden?

  • Rob Halford is the BEST!

    HAIL THE METAL GODS!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Song -great photos-great memories

  • one of their best early songs, and those pics with great singers... you have good taste dude!!!

  • Musikgeschichte!! Magic!

  • tha's my order too :D Geoff's easily the best singer ever!

  • easily !!!

Geoff Tate the best singer ever !

  • 1 Geoff Tate

    2 Rob Halford

    3 Michael Kiske

    4 Bruce Dickinson

    5 Glenn Hughes

    my list of top 5

  • I think the second is easily the best!

  • Halford was great too !

  • I'd have to go with Dickinson. He used his full, more booming voice. Tate just seemed to use a smaller part of his voice box and it pierces more than projects. I'd say he should be below 2 3 and 4.

Good list tho mate. Gotta love Helloween too. U know good shit.

  • Bruce uses a lot of Falsetto on the high notes, his falsettos are very powerfull they are very different from the usual falsettos like kind diamond and etc.But Geoff uses his full voice,i think he can go higher and lower than he does but he uses 4 octaves in full voice and i saw him live two times,he was fantastic

thanks bro,and i forget to put Ian Gillan on my list too hes fucking great !

  • Ray Gillen or Jon Corabi would get my vote for top 10 vocalist as well.

  • is that guy wearing the helloween shirt on 0:59 the on on celebrity rehab?

    the vh1 show?

  • no the guy on celeb rehab is steven adler from GNR

  • oh are you sure because they look simular.

  • yes im sure, michael kiske didnt have a stroke and he shaved his head

  • Steven Adler's a f'ing waste of human flesh...

  • not many have the range of tate , sick vocals

  • maddolis..... mustaine????????

  • I wouldn't put Mustaine on any of my "top" lists.

  • tate is the best

  • Hold up a sec, gotta refine my post yet again...

I'd have Tate, Gillan, Dickinson and Halford in the top 5 metal vocalists, not sure who I'd have as a 5th- Dio, Russell Allen, hard to choose.

  • Uhh *5, I don't seem to be able to count.

  • Top 4 metal vocalists for sure.

  • i realy love all these singers, best that will ever be, but Tate grabs my fucking soul man

  • i agree this is my favorite to you will remember

  • but u forgot to put GOD of voice IAN GILLAN!!!!!

  • With due respect to Halford, Tate and the screamer,Ian Gillan tops them all.

  • rly nice pictures

  • Great song, great video. Thanks.

  • this is some serious shit.

    well done, Q

  • Thats Tate for you!!

  • This song is IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Period.

  • i suppose those are your favorite metal singers but i would prefer to see more of tate's fotos here!thanks for posting anyway!i have this on vinyl and it's been a very long time since i last heard it!

  • I suppose if you don't like it then don't watch.Make your own video if you want all Geoff PHotos.Your favorite metal singers? Are you kidding? Those guys ARE some of the best metal singers.Period,dipsht.Listen to your record next time.Instead being a douchebag.
