You're wrong Orozco, marriage is just as much legal as it is religious. Actually it's more legal than religious. Since the government grants legal benefits to married couples, if the government didn't give those same-sex marriage more than likely wouldn't be an issue. However, since the AMA, APA, ASWA, etc. have all stated that sexual orientation is part of who a person is. They can't deny those rights to people, thus denying someone the right to marry is the same as denying someone who is...
Asian, Hispanic, etc. the right to go to school. The gay rights movement is actually very similar to the womans rights movement, civil rights movement, and interracial marriage movement. They all struggled for several years, but over time they gained support.(Which is happening with the gay rights movment, proof is looking at the statistics of people who support gay rights today compared to the70's, 80's, and 90's.) A lot of support is caused because gay people have decided to start coming out.
So more people know gay people, and it makes it easier to see that gay people are just like every other person. Not to mention they've finally started teaching about bisexuality too, so it's a matter of time before the average person knows about all 5 sexualities not just homosexuality, heterosexuality, and bisexuality. It's just proof that our knowledge is expanding, and we're growing into a less primitave society.

First off, I'm hardly surprised. California is a pretty conservative (and LARGE) state with the exception of LA and its surrounding areas, and San Fran. It's remarkably conservative.
The issue with Prop 8 being unconstitutional dates back to the essays written by Thomas Jefferson. The rights of the minority should never be left to Majority vote. Period.

They have shown that certen proteins in the Y choromosome are a foreign substance in the female body. With each male child a woman has, she builds anti-bodies to these proteins, which 'causes a feminization of the child she has. Heterosexuality- Attraction to the opposite gender.
Homosexuality- Attraction to the same gender.
Bisexuality- Attraction to both genders.
A-Sexuality- When refering to humans it's attraction to neither gender, and in the case of animals its the ability to procreate without a mate.
Pansexuality- Attraction based solely on emotion, physical appearance/gender don't apply for them.

Heterosexuality: Base attraction to the opposite sex.
Homosexuality: Base attraction to the same sex.
Bisexuality: Base attraction to both sexes.
A-Sexuality: Base attraction to neither sex.(Also the ability to procreate with ones self.)
Pansexuality: Attraction to someone based only on personality.

In modern times, marriage is both civil and religious. Outside of relgion people get married all the time, this is where the courts marry people. People who don't even believe in a God can get married, because according to the laws people get tax bennofits, and other gifts from the government for being married. Did you know that?
So denying a group of people the right to access legal bennofits is making one person higher than another.

You're wrong Orozco, marriage is just as much legal as it is religious. Actually it's more legal than religious. Since the government grants legal benefits to married couples, if the government didn't give those same-sex marriage more than likely wouldn't be an issue. However, since the AMA, APA, ASWA, etc. have all stated that sexual orientation is part of who a person is. They can't deny those rights to people, thus denying someone the right to marry is the same as denying someone who is...

Asian, Hispanic, etc. the right to go to school. The gay rights movement is actually very similar to the womans rights movement, civil rights movement, and interracial marriage movement. They all struggled for several years, but over time they gained support.(Which is happening with the gay rights movment, proof is looking at the statistics of people who support gay rights today compared to the70's, 80's, and 90's.) A lot of support is caused because gay people have decided to start coming out.

Not to mention they've finally started teaching about bisexuality too, so it's a matter of time before the average person knows about all 5 sexualities not just homosexuality, heterosexuality, and bisexuality. It's just proof that our knowledge is expanding, and we're growing into a less primitave society.
