  • U2 + Eurythmics = The Killers (Hot Fuss) XP

  • They are so pissed.

  • lol Bart Peeters in his young years in the background (the guy talking in dutch)

good to see bono & kerr so close together, never knew they were even that close!

  • Bono is locked

  • Bono and his testosterones again. Not enough he ripped off Echo and The Bunnymen. Kinda guy that likes to joke around w/ popes.

I bet somewhere on youtube you'll catch him doing a concert w/ Al Gore.

  • bono is contolling and full of it!!! Let Jim speak!!

  • @curlyone777 I agree!

  • These guys are two of the most talented writers of our time. It's nice to see them joking together. Although I think Bono was really Joe Dirt in the witness protection program at the time.

  • DL the audio from this vid at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • Ha Ha caught having a slash at 0.54 guess even rock stars have gotta wee.

  • Jim Kerrs' accent is ridiculious. He's from Toryglen not Ireland

  • @MrAmadaeus Jim Kerr is Glaswegian,so he's scottish...

  • Fuck YES! My two favourite front men!!! Perfect! Thanks for posting!

  • Damn.. I was laughing my ass off listening to Bono get all metaphysical (talking about the arm, the tourniquet, a the dam bursting all in one sentence. Hilarious!)

  • Fery2: - I have the audio track of Bono & Kerr on stage singing 11 0 Clock Tick Tock/Someone Somewhere In Summertime, it's a recent addition in my favourites list. Just click on my name and you'll see it.

  • @faddy24

Thx a lot! I just visited your channel and saw the audio-video in your favourites, great joint concert, I hope someone will be able to post the video, anyway was great to hear the audio, thanks!

  • @faddy24 Woh really??!?! ill checkit out!

  • Both are great,I always think Jim's voice was somewhat better. But overall they were similar, both bands had similar sounds.

  • @nema1218

From today’s perspective, It looks like Simple Minds were activists with substance (Street Fighting Years) with the real message. While Bono turned out to be something I would hate to characterize with any description… A proverbs says : be certain when you are helping others for them and not for your own fame and vanity. And those virtues are almost choking Bono these days.

  • @AouretVolkenVisage

I have to agree with you!

  • @AouretVolkenVisage Eat shit, you'd all bash him nowadays if he didnt do all the charity work he does. And you bash him when he does. He cant seem to win when it comes to ignorant pricks such as yourself. Take notice of all the good he does and stop bashing him for being everything you wish to be but turned out not to be .. all I hear is jealousy from you

  • @offthelinegt

In a world of populism and surface pop culture, I can understand you naïve views where Bono convinced you that there is such way to end hunger in world by modeling for the cause. Omit your charming eloquence and hero to match; not everyone believes in such charade you know. Have you look around from your fan corner recently? Half of the world is sick with such hypocrisy.

  • @AouretVolkenVisage shut the fuck up man

  • Both bands made great, ground breaking music in their formative years. Sadly politics over took the music and both became lumbering, bloated versions of themselves. The quality, vibrancy and energy of their music was lost to money. Sad that both used to say that the boundary between performer and audience should be broken down. Not long after they would stride huge stages in those "leather pants" they claimed to be the antithesis to.

  • that pullover jim kerr is wearing is really rock n roll

  • love how the video stops when Bono starts talking bollocks

  • @Westerdd LMFAO!!!

  • @Westerdd Surely the video would have stopped before he started talking?? He sings great words but ALWAYS talks bollocks LOL

  • Awesome!!

Such a shame I was too little to go gigs at that time (11)

  • Jim Kerr > Bono

  • @heliwithH i agree

  • @heliwithH Bono > Jim Kerr <-- True

  • Bono had his golden decade until the grand achtung baby, then came the stage and the band fell paraphernalia.

Simple Minds is a band that never sold and delivery is complete with fans.

I always remember Jim Kerr in South America in Chile and Argentina, its simple and its delivery to us fans was unforgettable.

    Long live Simple Minds

    Claudio from Chile

  • U2 will always be the best!

  • Both have great voices and have a great persona on stage but have to side with Jim Kerr and Simple Minds as I love the band and the quality of their music is head and shoulders over U2 any day

  • @ASkywalker1 lol thats why u2 are where they are and simple minds are nowhere

  • @imedi Simple Minds don't give a shit about publicity and popularity. They have the most dedicated fans you will ever see. U2 are where they are because of Bono's publicity machine working overtime and grandstanding. The Minds do their talking through their incredible songs. Listen to them and you'll find out for yourself. Edge creates two chords, and has enough for 4 albums lol

  • @ASkywalker1 lol i was a fan of simple minds back in the day but to say u2 are where they are because of publicity is so laughable you might as well say the same thing about the stones or the beatles and as for the old boring 2 chords argument you could say the same about the beatles 180 million albums 22 grammys u2 moved into the stratosphere simple minds nowhere GET OVER IT ps you will find u2 fans just as dedicated following them across continents for months at a time

  • @imedi I was a fan of U2 until they released two of the worst albums I have ever heard, Pop and Zooropa..and not forgetting their latest disaster No Line On The Horizon, which I had high hopes for but was very disappointing, and was lucky to get a good review. What i admire about SM is their unwavering dedication to music, more like a passion, and shows as they are 15 albums strong, and still tour constantly, and Jim Kerr even has a new brilliant solo album. Commercial success is nothing to that

  • @ASkywalker1 its like the line opinions are like assholes everybody has one i feel more or less about sm they you feel about u2 i did not like pop when it came out but it has a few greats songs on it nloth also has some great songs although get on your boots is utter garbage but white as snow is as good as any u2 song from the 80s or 90s.. but for me ab and the joshua tree are 2 albums sm have never even come close to matching as much as i like their music

  • @imedi don't get me wrong, I respect both bands, and U2's enormous contribution to the music industry. I would like to one day get a chance to see them live myself, but ticket prices to their concerts are very expensive. I don't hate U2 or have anything really against them. It seems that some people on youtube have created a certain rivalry between the two bands, but in reality, they are very different in styles. One of my favourite songs of all time is With Or Without You.

  • @imedi personally I think that SM latest effort Graffiti Soul is a magical album, a great bunch of original material and some great guitar work by Charlie Burchill and vocals by Jim Kerr. I think that The Edge lacks a bit of originality in his guitar riffs compared to Burchill. Commercial success shouldn't mean too much to an artist as SM have enjoyed success worldwide, and these days are just comfortable making great music and entertaining their fans, which they have an undying passion for.

  • @imedi new gold dream totally wipes the floor with u2s best i cannot understand where ur thinking is lol jeez its from 1982 the music from that album is still sampled by djs and how many times you play it it never gets tiresome ! when it comes to creativity sons and facination, new gold dream is anything as good as u2 as ever done ! i think you really need to listen to them before you comment !

  • @sweetassugar69 lol where is my thinking .what are u on!!!!!!! just because you prefer simple minds to u2 does not make your likes or dislikes set in stone.. in whatever format you want to compare thease bands grammys , album sales, concert tickets sold, world recognition u2 are so far ahead of simple minds its not even up for discussion you might as well compare simple minds to the stones or the beatles . its a bit like a fan of millwall football team trying to convince manchester utd fans

  • @sweetassugar69 that his is the better football team , i have listened to them back in the day they were a good band.. but now i never hear about them i thought they broke up years ago. and if u were so right then why is it today 30 years on simple minds are nowhere and u2 are in the middle of a world record selling tour (7 million tickets sold) i suppose its a case of u being right and 7 million being wrong even jim kerr would smile if he read your comments

  • @imedi it has nothing to do with album sales if thats the case lady gaga is a better artist and bigger artist !! there are many bands in history who are regarded far more talented and innovated than bands of there same eras such as velvet underground, joy division and david bowie jeez u really are a sheep as for simple minds being nowhere ! all there tours still sell out they make still great albums put graffiti soul up against nloth and it pisses all over it ! go listen and come back to me !!

  • @sweetassugar69 lol the old my band is the best ye all just dont get it argument and you dont give great examples bowie is a legend just like u2 time just caught up with him just like it will with u2 lady gaga is a far better song writer than you give her credit for.but she is only done it for a short time . its not my cup of tea but it shows how narrow minded your taste is that you cant see that either and maybe sm tour did sell out they will be lucky to reach a million fans

  • @sweetassugar69 and to answer your question about nloth it would not be my fave u2 album either u2s real greatness came fom 83 to 93 which had 2 of the greatest albums of all time joshua tree and auctung baby that have pissed over everything sm have put out in their entire history just because you cant see it will not make a difference its like a person prefering marmite to icecream trying to convince everybody else that they are wrong and i know best ha ha get over it u sound pitiful>>

  • get back to me when sm playout a 7 million tour and win 23 grammys for all those great albums...o yes but then again all those music producers are wrong too and u know better rofl.. look u could not stay at the top of the league for as long as u2 have and done that if you did not have something apart from the stones noone has done that.. hype might have worked for awhile but 30 odd years come off it. u just prefer sm to u2. you would not be alone. but there are alot more people that prefer u2

  • @ASkywalker1 and zooropa has one of the greatest u2 songs of all time stay... and one more thing as a live act they are very hard to match ..commercial success is nothing cant understand what you mean by that..

  • @ASkywalker1

I agree, just because U2 became the bigger of the two, does not mean the quality of Simple Minds' music is any less good.I honestly do not like any recent U2 works.

  • @nema1218 Thanks for your support there nema1218. Exactly right. The Minds still have a good audience wherever they tour, and they have toured and performed a lot more than U2 ever have, as that is what they do and enjoy the most, as U2 are too busy trying to organise large venues and touring once every so often. Just goes to show who's more supportive and dedicated to their fans.

  • @ASkywalker1

    You are very welcome!

  • Jim Kerr, he changed his name from Wayne, but he still is one if you ask most people.

  • @armandin2048 you have no idea what you're talking about pal. The man is always there for his fans, and a great bloke. I happen to know what I'm talking about.

  • @ASkywalker1 Would you like to explain exactly HOW you are sure about this?

  • @armandin2048 because I'm a facebook friend of Jim Kerr's and he's got over a thousand FB friends and he keeps his fans up to date with all his and the band's movements and replies to his fans when he can. I've chatted with him a few times before. He has a cheeky sense of humour and is as funny as hell.

  • I wish I knew him as a teenager.

  • I love Bono!! cool interview

  • I was at that concert all those years back and they rocked!! Imagine having U2, Simple Minds and the Eurythmics all playing at one concert....it was awesome!

  • wers your ch--logs, i mean clogs

  • JIM KERR THE BEST

  • Anyway, Jim and Bono getting married, and Annie Lennox being the best 'man'...it would be a fantastic wedding!

  • An irish, scotish, and a belgian! I am happy I understood anything!

  • I was there and it was the most amazing couple of days between this and Torhout. You could really feel the magic from these two guys and their bands.

  • ahahaaa Bart Peeters. da's belle!! snotjonk

  • Some of the smug, complacent and snotty nosed UK media have continued to either sneer at Simple Minds as a less succesful poor man's U2. (Lazy, ill informed and conceited journalism) or have dammed them with faint, slightly patronising praise. Ignore the fuckers. 'Graffiti Soul' is a superb album and will be a big success, at least in Europe and Australasia.

  • Great post, well put.

  • If there was a talking Olympics then yer man Bono would take the gold medal for the world's most overrated country, Ireland. By the way the new Simple Minds album is a huge return to form. Best album they've done since 'New Gold Dream'. It's called 'Graffiti Soul'. 5th best selling album in the UK at the mid week point. So should chart well into the Top 10 next week.

  • What a cool clip. It's always fun seeing two musical greats together in the same interview. Wish they had let Jim talk more though. Bono seemed to take over the whole conversation ! Talkative little bugger ain't he ?

  • Yeah, watch it, 'jr'. Your messing with the 'Graffiti So(u)ldiers' and we don't take any prisoners!

  • LOL They're wasted!

  • Bono talking b*llocks .....nothings changed since!

  • verry nice video...

  • Nice hair Bono!! Lol.
