Dear Mr. Brundle, you may not have been able to make up 0.4+ seconds after the first sector but then again I've never watched a Grand Prix and hear an actual winner commentate (with the exception of Keke)... But in your defence, even though you never won, you still have a lot more GPs under your belt than I do :)
No insult intended, this is just the ranting of a Finnish truck driver after a few beers too many!
@Chriz7164 Well we shall know it within this week...Kimi certainly wants to come back and Williams would want him too, but if Williams cant pay him enough, then he might not return...but within the next few days Williams will announce their drivers for 2012....If they cant make the deal, then I doubt Kimi will ever return, this is the last chance, so I really hope Williams is able to get him.
@Balnazzardi i remember the rumors of Kimi coming back with Renault... i do pray Williams and Kimi can work together next season, Kimi can bring so much money and experience with him to help them be competitive.
@jerryjoe88 I think Williams will improve next year but will they win races thats a bit optimistic you never know of course however I think the midfeild is a more realistic target.
Personally I really liked the part of 2005 where there were 2 flying laps that counted...one with qualifying setup and low fuel on saturday, and one again in race trim and on race fuel load on sunday! The two times where then added!
That gave 2 sessions of exitement, and a chance to se the cars go fast on both low fuel and race load, and then speculate on the strategies by the gap between the two lap times!
It was cancelled because people didnt "get it" supposedly?!
@Michaelingolfhansen You're right. Also, drivers had only one chance with this one lap. Today is something similar in Q3. They keep their tyres. It's all in strategy. It sucks...
@rc150 That is true.. sad what those cars now look! Räikkönen is a legend.. old school race-driver.. for me hes a legend atleast. I dont like media-driver style of living... i like oldschool-pilot style of living.. Maybe rally is better place for kimi, rally is old school and cool!
wow im not a massive kimi fan but that was so impressive who else at that time could have clawed back 4 tenths on the dominant ferraris at that time awesome
@retsam001 Those Ferraris were prepared for race win, not for pole... Those days they had to run with fuel for the first part of the race. Taht's why Schumi overtook Kimi after the first pitstop.
@MuikuliWander Yeah, that's obvious. Why to mention... My purpose was to make it clear: Kimi could beat them because they were running with more fuel and because they didn't want to win the qualifying but the race. And they did... Anyway Kimi went well, and he was even better in Spa, where he won.
glad that he's back!

Kimi with Williams in 2012. Renault engines, & Coughlan's designs.
Could be a winning combo.
