I'm Canadian, but lived in Uk for years...the British are definitely funnier....the Uk one seems dull cause Northern Europeans are a bit more reserved than Southern Europeans (Mediterraneans)....the USA is full of Mediteranean immigrants (Italy, Spanish, Greek, Jews etc etc) so your comedians/actors are gonna be less reserved ....hence your excitable TV shows....!!!

The American version is not a "copy" of the British version. Except for the style, title, jello joke at the beginning, they're two completely different shows. And as for Steve Carell being there to boost popularity, that's not true. It's actually quite the contrary. The Office boosted Steve Carell's popularity. If you check fan feedback on the American version, you'll find that none of the comments are about Carell but almost 99 percent about the comedy.

Hmm, I don't know if they were "trying" to mimmic every single detail from the British version to the very end. It's obviously a spin off of it (hence the name), so there's no doubt The British version is really good. But when I watch the US version, I find it to be really good, with well developed characters. Season 1 of The Office US was rubbish because it was a direct copy of the UK. In season 2 though, they took it in there own direction, I think it's really funny and keeps in the spirit of how Gervais created it, Gervais even admitted he thinks it's brilliant! I love the UK version but I gave the US one a chance after I wrote it off the first time (season 1) and it's awesome.
The stapler in JELLY in the uk version is much much much better. Mackenzie Crook makes a much more convincing Gareth character than whoever it is who plays dwight or whatever his name is. And the relationship between the dawn/tim characters isnt nearly as compelling as in the UK version.
America was created by the people who wanted to SEPARATE themselves from English rule. I think that says enough. Your "point" is completely stupid.

It's pretty clear to me that you've probably watched between 1 episode and the first season, because it seems that you're the one who doesn't 'get it'. They took the idea of the original Office and made a version that North American people can understand and enjoy. Why? Probably because you Brits have an entire language of your own that we 'don't get'

The American version is not a "copy" of the British version. Except for the style, title, jello joke at the beginning, they're two completely different shows. And as for Steve Carell being there to boost popularity, that's not true. It's actually quite the contrary. The Office boosted Steve Carell's popularity. If you check fan feedback on the American version, you'll find that none of the comments are about Carell but almost 99 percent about the comedy.

Hmm, I don't know if they were "trying" to mimmic every single detail from the British version to the very end. It's obviously a spin off of it (hence the name), so there's no doubt The British version is really good. But when I watch the US version, I find it to be really good, with well developed characters. Either way, I love good shows! There is so much crappy television nowadays. The Office is awkward, funny and a nice break from the mundane!!

yeah actually no. The german office, the austrailian office, the canadian office, and the french office all share the same ideas as the british office. The only thing is, the american office does it better. and has more than 6 seasons

If you can understand french, "La Bureau" is the exact same thing as the UK office but its in french, and with different actors. Theres also a brazilian and a German office. Im not sure about others i kinda exaggerated australia and canada lol

Season 1 of The Office US was rubbish because it was a direct copy of the UK. In season 2 though, they took it in there own direction, I think it's really funny and keeps in the spirit of how Gervais created it, Gervais even admitted he thinks it's brilliant! I love the UK version but I gave the US one a chance after I wrote it off the first time (season 1) and it's awesome.

The stapler in JELLY in the uk version is much much much better. Mackenzie Crook makes a much more convincing Gareth character than whoever it is who plays dwight or whatever his name is. And the relationship between the dawn/tim characters isnt nearly as compelling as in the UK version.
