This doesn't make me feel sad. It makes he happy. Even though I'm 14 now, I haven't had religion in my life for 2 years, and I'm fine. I don't have a perfect life, but I don't need to ask or pray for a better one. So, when I listen to this, I will always end up smiling.

Maybe I'll even read this poem to my classmates one day. Make 'em look at their religion from another point of view... :)

brilliant poem, but I do beleive people should not try to "kill religion" because it inspires, saves, brings joy, principles to some and honestly gives those a feeling of higher happiness. That being said I'm more of a seeker, not neccesarily religous or non-religious

@paranoidude good luck bro, it was hard tell my parents too. I was raised Roman Catholic, but my parents are supportive now, after a period of weirdness. Just keep in mind it is hard for them, for someone who truly believes in god, it means you will go to hell...even if you and I do not believe in that shit. Your family just loves you and to them its a big thing. In time they will warm to it, just explain reasons, tell them you respect their beliefs, etc.

The Nice accepting "I respect your Choice, and have a great time" type of people

And the "You suck for making a choice that I dislike, and will pester you for it" kind of people

Here is a quote from a German mystic i really like:

"He who seeks God under settled form lays hold of the form, while missing the God concealed in it."

Replace God with Reality an it works equally well for atheism.

Beautiful video. I really liked the Buddha quote you had in it. I have a poster in my room with that quote on it.

My thoughts are that many Atheists are now closer to "God" then the theists of religions. Essentially, God is a word for Ultimate Reality. Religious people think the source of all things is conscious in nature. I choose to withhold judgment. Religious people have also idolized their ideas of God they get from their books in their minds.
