I saw this when I was 7 in the theater and started crying when Helen died. She fought so hard to stay alive I was sooo pissed that she got killed she was so close. What I always liked about this sequence is that Helen really gave her all to survive. She ran, jumped, fought back, etc. Shame the writer made her go out in such a cliche way (hearing noise, turning around at the worst time possible with safety literally feet away). I know the writers originally intended for Helen to survive in the film but thought it needed a higher body count. Psh.

The only time I've ever walked out of a movie was after her death. There was nothing redeemable left, so why not? LOL However, I left satisfied because despite the MULTITUDE of logic issues here, this is one of the best chase scenes ever.

Sarah was fantastic and the only character I gave a damn about . She really made you feel in the moment and has one of the most chilling, raw, realistic screams I've ever heard. I do also love that you see Helen still fight back even as he slashes her.

this movie also makes you feel sympathy for her because of the summer before all this happened. how it shattered her friendship with julie, her sister being a snobby-bitch that she is, and she has to deal with that, breaking up with barry even though he was an asshole, and his death. And to top it all off, she didn't even have that many lines in the movie, except for when it was her time to die. she normally just stood there.
