  • Lovely footage!!

from 1:47 the footage is remarkable , beautiful takeoff with all the spray. Welcome back to Delta - 747 -

  • I've flown the A380 and must say that it's a very nice aircraft....as is the 747.But nobody can convince me that the 747 isn't the most *beautiful* aircraft to have ever flown the skies.

  • Looks like he took off from runway 7L

  • @XxNiMr0D7000xX ..it sure did.

  • i know the a380 is also huge but there is something about the b747 that draws me back. its so sleek and love the turbine on that aircraft

  • HOT DAWG!!! Great Video Sir!

  • @747qantas thank you..there's Qantas 747s on the channel as well.

  • What terminal was that ?

  • @jbr9029537 Terminal 2

  • Thumbs up for Delta bringing back the Northwest paint on a few ships!!

  • Sweetest aircraft ever

  • Beautifully shot video.

  • it would be intresting if they make a spirit of NWA paint

  • You might want to telling that to the daily Delta 747 landing here at LAX every morning. Infact, rumor on Aviation chat circles are that Delta is seeking more used 747s and may taken some JAL ships.

  • @Starboard76

Or even a new one believe it or not. Might see them fly the new Intercontinental(747-800) .

But I don't see how since we're looking at nearly 100 bucks per barrel of oil.

  • I work at Deltas Headquarters & main Hub in Atlanta. They stopped using the 747s of Northwests fleet & went back to using the 777s & 767s on medium to long hauls

  • Heck I'm just glad Delta finally has some 747s again.

  • That's great taxiing just next to it!

  • Gren240 were you born in new bulatukan or Davoa city?

  • I was just flying on N665US just last month from Detroit to Manila, Philippines!

  • im a part of the delta family i cant use our real names but one of my near relatives is the president of delta...im trying to force him to keep the 747z because hez been thinking about letting go

  • the new Delta colors are gorgeous.. especially on the 747s

  • Deltas new 747 looks soo epic.

  • Thank you for removing the ''Property of STARBOARD76'' logo when the plane touched down=)

  • i did not know delta has a 747 im flying delta to greece it would be nice if its a 747

  • Nice sound !

  • Great, Thanks for this upload.

  • i always see this plane at Lax

  • I LOVE PLANES TO FLY!!!

  • I flew on Delta back in 2007 when I was traveling overseas, the service and the food were very good, the only thing was forgeting our luagages going overseas and coming back to USA but other then that it was good experience!!

  • Wonderful video. Thanks! Delta Air Lines is three words, BTW - not two.

  • delta !

  • Wow! You take excellent footage. Really impressive.

  • a perfect shot.

    I love it

  • I love Delta, but it is a bit sad that Northwest logo and its legend ended.

  • do you do this for a living, not everybody can keep up wit a taxing 747 without the fence getting in the way

  • No...but I could 'do it for a living'..but I do get paid to 'shoot'..

  • @Starboard76 How?! I WANNA KNOW!!! LOL

  • wow! awesome landing!

    and well captured ;)

    5*

    regards

    fludusTV

  • Great video! I miss seeing it in NWA colors though. I would have given it 5 stars if it were in NWA colors. :) haha! Fantastic video!

  • Haha..thanks Gulfstreamer, as by your other comments..I take it you found your NWA footage! ; )

  • This should be NORTHWEST in drab Delta colors.

They seem to love NWA planes.

  • Sorry----but until there is a single operating certificate, this is a NORTHWEST AIRLINES bird. No amount of paint can cover the true heritage of this ship! Flown by Northwest Crews! The only thing that Delta can add is their wonderful "Breezeway" boarding for first class passengers. That is synergy: Northwest Aircraft and know-how coupled with the Delta Breezeway First Class boarding! Huzzah!

  • True..and I wish it would take 5 years for that to be completed..and 5 years as well to paint up the whole fleet! It'd be cool to have 3 US carrier/paint schemes on passenger 747s again for awhile.

  • @TheCannonofMohammed heritage? its just a fucking airplane dude

  • Turn the volume up and watch the video from 2:10 to 2:20...EXHILIRATING

  • Starboard76....you rock man!!! This is great footage. Do you have any other goodies to post on the tube??

  • Thanks BigWo, yeah, just check on my channel...about 20+ others there!

  • WOW!!! right next to the plane as its taxiing!!! AWESOME CLIP!!!

  • Thanks man...yep, off all my shots...I love what I call 'rolling shots' .. the best! Even better than takeoff shots!

  • Starboard76 I just love your videos! Especially your 747 videos! Please keep em coming. We need more of your kind on the tube! That is people with access to grate shots that actually care for aviation. Thank you so much for your uploads.

  • MrJaySaffa, I must say that's one of the most kindest of accolades sent my way...and thank you very much. I really appreciate that. Yes, I am among the most ardent of aviation fans and I am lucky..extremely lucky to have the status that I have. And you can rest assured that I have plans to bring more for people like you who appreciate the hard work (shooting, editing and posting) that make it possible!

  • You are Awesome! I shall subscribe immediately!

  • Yea I work for Delta Airlines at Los Angeles International Airport on the ramp. I love that 747-400. They usually park it at gate 68B because our terminal doesn't have customs. They have been using Terminal 6...gate 68B eversince Northwest Airlines moved from terminal 2 to terminal 5 at LAX, Northwest Airlines used to operate out of terminal 2 but as soon as Delta merged with Northwest, they went to our terminal.

  • I'm 14, hoping to fly the 747 or any airplane for Delta

  • Wow! Incredible footage! Congratulations! Five Stars!

  • I will miss NWA livery. Always fly with them to go to Manila from Seattle.

  • The Delta Northwest merger has a total of 16 747-400s, 6 of which are in the Delta "Widget" scheme, the other 10 are in the Northwest colors.......

  • That plane must be old as hell. NorthWestAirlines was known for their ageing fleet.

  • Normally true regarding NW, but to say that about this plane or any 747-400 then is to say that any plane that is 15-17 years..by your logic makes KLM, British Airways, JAL, Korean Air all having old as hell fleets'.

  • Is a Delta 747 flying oversea such as to Hong Kong?

  • How many do they have?

  • Now DA operate 747s because of the merger of NWA of which they have 747 hope that they keep the service that NWA has

  • yea we nwa know how to do things sucks to see our 747 on dl colors

  • beautiful aircraft. i didnt know that DA operated 747s.

  • yeaa... now they doo!! thats y now they have over 350 destinations WORLDWIDE!!!

  • delta merged with NWA so they have the largest fleet in the world

  • Thank you ! :) I will look at JFK soon :)

  • Can anyone tell me what Flight numbers the 747's are? Or where they fly to, id really love to see one in person

  • b747dude, visit flytecomm (dot here) com ... in the Advanced User section, put JFK in that box and click 'go'..you'll get a 'live' listing of all airport arrivals that day at JFK and the airlines flight numbers and aircraft (after you click on that specific link) it's the most accurate out there. You can do it for any US airport and some Canada and Mexico airports as well!

  • i did not know delta had som 747s

  • they just got them after they merged with nwa

  • Does anyone think that American Airlines will ever fly the 747 again?

  • Personally, I think a FS version is all we'll ever see again of an AA 747. But we can sure dream and hope for the impossible.

  • When I lived next to SFO in the mid 80's I recall seeing AA 747's from time to time on their way to Tokyo. I don't remember exactly, but I could swear they had a few 747SP's in their fleet as well.

  • I worked for AA in 1985. We got 747s again. The old 747s went mostly to NWA and had been leased out to Braniff International previously. The new 747's were for our new NRT service out of DFW, and they were the SP's. If I remember correctly, we innagurated NRT with a 747 SP out of DFW in May of 86. Before that, we had a NRT out of SEA I believe, could be mistaken. In any case it was short lived and was a purchase from CO. MD-11s had perf. issues and would fly SJC-SFO-NRT.

  • You're absolutely correct.... it was DFW-NRT where I remember seeing the SP's.

I traveled thru DFW frequently and got it mixed up, thinking I had seen them at SFO. Were you a NWA Captain?

  • The MD11s were moved and replaced by 747SPs, and the route eventually was permanently moved to SFO. Find a real AA person, they should know the details with AA and their 747s. That was too long ago for me, and I shortly thereafter went to NWA, where I flew this 747 for about 15 years. It may say Delta, but it is NWA. No doubt. ;-)

  • not really although i would love to see one

  • Very nice footage!!!

  • thank you kindly

  • Does anyone know if Delta is going to keep the 20 or so 787's that Northwest ordered and will they be in the Delta livery?

  • Most likely, some of Delta's 767s are getting a bit long in the tooth! So I'd say yes..but a DL employee may be better informed than I am.

  • i saw one of these at the gate but u dont see them a lot in america do you

  • They're all over DTW and MSP.

  • wat????

  • DTW is short for Detroit and MSP is short for Minneapolis.

  • ohh ok thanks ive never seen one in california

  • You need to go to LAX (where this was taken)..between 10am and 1pm any day of the week..and you'll either see this version (a Delta 747) or a Northwest painted-747.. but I'd say next year this time it'll be all Delta 747s as all Northwest 747-400s should be painted by then.

  • 2:13 AMAZING!!!

  • Beautiful Landing!

  • great videos...

  • Instead of that stupid ''property of starboard76'' sign, you better could've said property of delta airlines.

  • Wow....you're 42 years old, and that comment sounds as if came ditrectly from a 10 year old. Delta had nothing to do with it. I guess when Newsweek shoots footage of Gaza, they say 'brought you by Hamas or Hezbollah"...yeah, listen to you smart guy, you have all the answers. Post more than the lame ONE you have then come back to talk crap...maybe then... it might mean something.

  • AMEN!

  • i hate northwest airlines worst airline possible..

  • cool video

  • okay either you work as ground crew or your a pilot which one!?!?

btw great video 5/5 check mine out if you have the time :)

  • Brother congratulations, you video it's very good...calification of 10.

  • How come I still see Northwest airlines operating?

  • Its not, most of the planes are just still in the Northwest livery! It will take around 2 years to turn all of the Northwest aircraft into Delta aircraft!

  • Thank you for your reply =)

  • I worked for Delta from 1998-2008 and loved it. Took a package when they started offering them to pursue a new career. I still have moments that I miss working for the big "D". But, I still keep in touch with my Delta family. Good times.

  • WOW!!! What a MAGNIFEST BIRD!!! Also I think the color scheme is very sharp looking :)

  • they keep the delta name so they can bust the union out period....nwa is stronger than delta.very strong in amsterdam and tokyo...

  • oh yeah. i really wished nwa could of stayed. i fly with them to amsterdam all the time. i was kinda pissed to see the airbus a330-300 back to detroit that would normally be in nwa colors, was in the boring white and blue delta colors.

    im gona miss delta

  • Hmm, thats funny as Delta will be keeping most of the NWA routes.

  • sorry. not all

they will be dropping some asian routes.

  • some / most being the keywords here.

I take it your a NWA person?

We are Delta ppl here and know their route scheduling plans. Well, at least until the change them.

  • yeah, definantly a nwa person.

personaly i thought they always had the best service (atleast when i fly with them).

i myself never really knew or cared for delta because i herd so many horrow stories from my clients who travel all the time.

but, what i was meaning was if your going to merge with a major aline (being one yourself) it makes no sense to loose destinations, especialy if it is an international flight

  • very nice video i love the delta painting :D ! i rate it 5/5*

  • I'm going to tokyo but the flight is operated by NWA, does this mean I have no chances to fly the delta-painted aircrafts?

  • you might have a chance, we were to go to detroit from amsterdam in a a330 operated by nwa and it ended up to be in delta colors

  • Wow this is the 1st time I see a 747 from Delta.

  • Has anyone out there heard about all of the hicups with the A330s. The great thing about 747s it is a proven technology.

  • Delta's 747 looks great.

  • it does

  • Northwest 747's looked better.

  • I think Delta's is better because it has better logo on the tail.

  • WTF!?!? since when does delta have 747's???

  • Since they merged with Northwest.

  • Awesome! As I searched, there are 16 747s flying for Delta, 4 painted for Delta and 12 still painted for Northwest

  • Thanks Lerrysan, I tried to post that days ago..and utube kept rejecting my post!

  • at 2:24 it looks like a spark because of a very light tail strike. Was it? anyone feel free to reply

  • no tail strike, if you look after 2:20, you see the white tail like flicker between the water being blown by the engines...

  • It looks nice.....even better as a -400 series since it has a modern look.

  • i never new there was ever an 747 Delta

  • Nice. Good showcase of landing, taxi and take off. It sure is a low clearance on the tail when it takes off. I wonder how many runway incursions the tail has had.

  • Do you mean tailstrike? If the plane had one tailstrike it would'nt be in service. Get informed please.

  • Chill. I was speaking about the 747 family in general and will comment as I wish, whether informed or not. Planes do incur tail strikes, are repaired, and return to service.

  • I love those 747's ....now THOSE ARE REAL airplanes...I dont know why there not flying more 747's on coast to coast flights like they seem to do along time ago...now i noticed its more of a 5 HOUR JAM PACKED FULL dinky 737 flight with NO room that I happened to be on one time....lol

  • There is no reason for them to fly a 747 or 777 with 100 pax when they can fit that on a 737. Saves money

  • Yeah you are right. However, It's also not good to pack a bunch of people in a smaller aircraft for a 5 hr flight just to save a few bucks. Airlines too need realize the comfort of the passenger so they can feel encouraged to fly that airline again and NOT go else where since there are many travel options for the customer.

  • Wow just when you thought 747's are going to be decommisioned!!!

  • They better re-furbish coach on those 744s!

  • beautiful 747 and video !

  • Great capture!

  • These are some incredible angles.

  • I want one...........

  • would this ever go to greece and replace the 777's athens services and do atlanta-sydney via LAX?

  • Comment removed

  • Gourgeous planes!!! To bad they never come to toronto anymore :(

  • wow it takes time before the engines stop completely.

  • Completely Cool!

  • I wish there were more Delta 747s in Atlanta.

  • there are. they go from KATL to PHNL daily

  • nice video

747 in delta colors looks great :)

Hope to see that beauty sometimes in Frankfurt.

    But i don´t think so :(

  • when northwest gets the 787's they invested in, will those ships be part of delta?

  • My guess is that by the time the 787 gets delivered (unless Delta cancels the order) there should be ZERO NW painted jets around .. NW will be a memory.

  • ok thanks

  • yes

  • anyone know if these aircraft still have the northwest interior, what about crew uniforms on these flights, is this plane only DL on the exterior and NW on the interior? I feel certain NW crews still operate these flights, just curious

  • yes they have NW crews, not sure if the interior has been changed

  • the interiors have'nt change, still NW seats both business and economy classes.

  • Oh my god, THAT is a kickass video man!! The ride alongside when it was taxiing out for departure... so cool.

Can you get me on at LAX so I can do that too? :) You lucky bastard....

  • Umm sure...that's an April's Fool joke right?

    : D

    Anyway..thanks for the comments!!!

  • Uh, no. Seriously. I'd love to work on a flight line....marshaller, whatever.

  • Easy hell, just apply with every local carrier and 'service' company (ramp services)..have u tried?

  • What a beautiful aircraft.

Their new livery is up there along side Virgin Atlantic.

  • wat happened to it. It got kicked off the fleet

  • ?????

  • what are you talkin about

  • I think he's asking if they NW tossed them...if so, no Singerman..Delta has acquired Northwest Airlines and in about a year or so..there will be no more NW jets in the skies, they'll look like this 747..wearing Delta colors. I hope that answers your question.

  • Delta's 747's are old Northwest rigs correct?

  • yeap...all NW rigs

  • with NW crews

  • Beautiful... Nice video... Thanks for uploading...

  • What airport is this? Probably ATL.

  • it says in the beggining LAX

  • 1:47 - 2:05

    Nice..

  • They couldn't have painted those 7-4's fast enough. LOL

  • please take off those credits! because you i have been looking at them the whole time

  • I can think of a 1000 reasons NOT to do that..

  • It's okay, just list 500.

  • Just Awsome

  • i don't think the delta should have been bigger... in fact i think that may be my FAVORITE paint job ever on an 747

  • I wonder if all of the people who currently work for NWA are going to be layed off, or are going to continue because Delta is getting more aircraft, which will call for more pilots.

  • Looks weird in delta c/s.I flew rj's 145 under their flag for a year out LAX under express jet.love the L.a. crew.nice and attentive.Nice vid by the way!!

  • i love delta
