look at the pine trees, through the windshield at 6:05, assuming the trees grow vertically, there is no way that is a 50 degree hill. If it was, the acute angle on the uphill side of the trees would be 40 degrees, which it isn't even close. I'm gonna call that a 20-25 degree hill.

In this video - yeah, a dirt road - steep at the end and doesnt truly show the capabilities. My Touareg has conquered far better - Hells in Moab; the San Juans; Gold Mtn in Big Bear, Arroyo Seca Diablo in Anza Borrego; Coyote in Bishop; and so on. Its not a rock crawler - but put some big offroader tires on it and its a monster. And hey, I wont be abused or trailered to get there :)

THe Touareg is a great combo of lux on road and very good off road technology. I just went from a Range Rover SPort to the TDI. It drives better than the Rover.

No, it wont beat a D90. I keep a 1997 D90 up in Maine. It is a gerat off raod vehicle, but drives like a tank and sucks gas like one as well. THis vehicle is the best combo out there of both onroad and offroad capability. Eventhe V6 TDI has 400ft/lb
